WOW.WHAT.A.BOOK! And most importantly why haven't I read KL Slater before this?!?!
Now disclaimer as a mother this book rocked me to my core! Like so much that I was checking on my kids more often and hugging them way to much! Now with this disclaimer this book was AMAZING! Like I was unable to put my kindle down and that if like seriously I read while doing laundry, was walking around reading and would listen when I had to drive anywhere. I devoured this book. I need to know who took Grace and why and if she was ok!
Finding Grace is a heart pounding psychological thriller that had me holding my breath for I would say 98% of the book. When I had a feeling I knew what happened KL threw me a curve ball. This book was amazing! I have a new name to add to my favorite writers EVER! I look forward to heading over to Amazon and one clicking all that KL has written!

I love K L Slater books and this is another fantastic addition to her growing library.
Lucie and Blake Sullivan allow their nine year old daughter to walk home from her friends house and in that short journey she vanishes. Now Lucie is questioning everything and everyone, where is Grace and who’s to blame.
I read this in one sitting and loved every minute. The twists just kept calming and you don’t draw breath until the end!

HOLY CRAP... and breathe….. KL Slater is up there in my fav list for psychological thrillers… what would you do if your daughter went missing, giving a bit of leeway, Lucie & Blake Sullivan allow their 9 year old daughter Grace walk home from her friends house, its only 5 minutes away and she is going to be watched by her friend’s Dad one end and returning to her own house by her Dad, Blake, what could go wrong????
Your worst nightmare come through, Grace disappears into thin air, the neighbours and police carry out extensive searches, door to door but to no avail, there is nothing, no clues, no forensics, no witnesses!!! How and why was Grace taken?

Lucie and Blake are in turmoil but as the hours tick away, Lucie is beginning to doubt her husband, is he to blame for this, he is a local councillor who had a run in with someone on the very same day, he decided to look at his phone instead of looking out for his daughter returning, has someone got a grudge against him? After a shocking discovery in his office desk, Lucie is unsure she can trust her husband, he is lying to her and hiding something from her but is it related to Grace going missing?

However, he’s not the only one keeping secrets, has Lucie something to hide? Maybe she is to blame but she doesn’t want to even think about that, its not possible! Her mental stability is on a knife edge!

The book goes from present day to 16 years ago when Lucie was in college, something significant happened that unfolds throughout the book that changed Lucie’s life forever!

What an absolutely gripping psychological thriller, anyone with children and even those without will be holding their breath, sitting on the edge of your seat, they say the first 48 hours decide the fate of a taken child….. strap yourself in and get ready for the ride of your life, you’re in for a rough one!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

he book blurb sounded very good it drew me in and I knew I had to read this book. The story had a strong start, relatable characters, and you could feel the emotions. But the more I read and the further I got into the book I started noticing that it veered off too much and had a bit too much unnecessary details. I was having trouble keeping my concentration and following the story

This grips you from the very first page! What has happened to Grace, what is Lucie hiding and is Blake also covering something up?
I was a bit concerned about reading another K. L. Slater book so soon after the disappointing ‘The Secret’ that I read at the end of last year, but she has redeemed herself with this one. It is as good as ‘The Mistake’ and ‘The Visitor’, which are the books that got me hooked on her in the first place.
The book is fast paced and doesn’t let up; you just have to know the answers to what has happened. I read this in less than 24 hours, I was supposed to be working on my PhD proposal but put ‘real life’ on one side for the day, so I could get this finished!
I loved the ‘sixteen years ago’ chapters that were telling you the backstory of the awful thing that had happened to Lucie, once this part got going it was shocking and gripping! These chapters were interspersed with current events and also what had happened on the day prior to Grace going missing. It is so well written that you don’t get lost in the shifts of time and they blend together really well. There are also a lot of characters to get to grips with, but they are all rememberable, and again you don’t get confused by them all.
A brilliant psychological thriller, just as you would expect from K. L. Slater!

This right here people is a perfect example of a psychological thriller. K.L. Slater had me wrapped around her finger with this one. I could do nothing else until I found out what happened to Grace.

It was only a five minute walk from the neighbor's house to Grace's home. How did she go missing? Better yet, how did nobody see her? A tight knit community like Violet Rd where everyone knows each other and not one person saw her?

My anxiety continued to rise and I literally felt my stomach knot up as facts about all the neighbors came to light. My suspicions were running awry as the character development grew. Everyone seemed to have something in their past or present that made them a suspect in my mind.

Then the bombshell of Lucie's past is revealed. Is she being made to pay for her prior mistakes? Is karma at work or is someone out to make her pay?

K.L. Slater is actually able to capture the psychological pain that Lucie is feeling and she transferred that to me. I had so much anxiety reading this. Every time I thought I had it figured out, she dropped another detail that blew my mind. If you want a book that you absolutely are not able to put down, that has shocking twists and one hell of an ending, this is it!!!

Finding Grace was such an addictive read, when 9 year old Grace is allowed to walk home alone from her friends house after a day at Alton Towers, she suddenly disappears.

Straight away I was so drawn in by the story and kept wanting to keep reading to find out what happens next, I absolutely love K L Slater, her books get better and better each time, all her books are highly recommended.

This was my first introduction to K.L. Slater and it did not disappoint! Right off the bad, we are launched into a situation where 9 year old Grace goes missing on her 10 minute walk home from her best friend’s house. Blake and Lucie Sullivan are faced with difficult questioning from the investigators while both parents are in complete agony and trying to not to tear each apart from the riddled blame and guilt.

There were so many twists/turns/revelations that I was physically shaking towards the end of the book with all the information that I was presented with. I’m still trying to ask myself what happened. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting an exciting and heart-stopping read.

4.5/5 stars. Full review will be posted on my blog (thereadingchemist.com) on publishing day.

Wow! This book grabbed me from the very beginning and did not let go until the last sentence! Such believable characters, some easy to love and some easy to hate. So many twists and turns that you never see coming! I loved the storyline...it was quite the roller coaster ride. I can’t say enough about this amazing psychological thriller. Well done KL Slater.

Another excellent psychological thriller by author Kim Slater, how does she achieve such a consistently high standard of writing.

Lucie and Blake Sullivan allow their daughter Grace to make the short 4 minute walk back home from her best friend's house the day after her ninth birthday. The couple have agonised about agreeing to Grace's wish to walk alone so it is with great trepidation that they finally do. But Lucie and Blake's world is shattered when Grace fails to make it home, and despite police and the local communities best efforts Grace is nowhere to be found.
Lucie leans heavily on her husband for support, so when she makes a shocking discovery hidden in his desk she begins to doubt everything she knew about the man she married. But Blake is not the only one with secrets, Lucie has a terrible secret of her own and has never shared it with Blake.
With tensions mounting and the search for Grace getting nowhere Lucie receives a terrifying message. If she is ever to see Grace again, Lucie has no choice but to face the past she tried hard to bury forever. And she must do it alone.
When you read a KL Slater novel you can guarantee a fast paced plot, great characters and a story that builds up to an unbelievable crescendo. This one is no exception to the authors already impressive catalogue of novels that I enjoy. Keep them coming..

I would like to thank both Net Galley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

I am thankful for an advanced read copy in return for an honest opinion.

This book has you thinking every step of the way. I felt the characters were very real. It really touched on how secrets have a way of bubbling to the surface. Sometimes years later you find out just how small the world can really be.

I would recommend this book for anyone who likes to really think through different peoples motives and how each person plays a role n a families life.

I have read most of K.L. Slater’s books which are very good and this one doesn’t disappoint.
Nine-year-old Grace says she is a big girl now and keeps nagging her parents to be able to walk home on her own. So after a day at Alton Towers with her friend Olivia and her parents Bev and Mick she walks towards home. Mick keeps any eye on her until she reaches the bend, and the father Blake from the other side. But a text comes on his phone and he is distracted. Grace never reaches home.
The police are called Grace’s parents Lucie and Blake feels guilty for agreeing her to walk home. Blake a local councillor is also trying to keep is reputation intact. As the story progresses, we learn that the parents are keeping secrets especially Lucie and the real reason why Grace has disappeared.
This is another great story from K.L. Slater. I like her style of writing, It’s an easy read with great characters. It has a lot of twists and turns that will keep you guessing throughout. It has a surprise twist and the end, that I never saw it coming. I don’t want to give anything else away. You will have to read it yourself.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy of this book.

I was thrilled to read this newest K.L. Slater psychological thriller. I'm a huge fan and really enjoy her writing style and the suspense and tension she delivers in each of her novels.

I must say that I am tiring of the "missing child" trope, but this story offers something more than they typical plot line. It is fast paced and sprinkled with hints of something lurking in the past lives of the family. I was easily drawn into Lucie and Blake's search for their daughter, Grace and trying to figure out the who, what, when, why and how. I was on the right track with a some, certainly not all.

There was another twist in the end that really was a surprise. Thank you, karma!

Thanks to Bookouture for my review copy. Book is out on Feb 14, 2019

Finding Grace # NetGally
K. L. Slater

Another great book by K. L. Slater. Finding Grace is one of those books you don’t want to put down. I read it in one sitting because I needed to know what happened to Grace. Her characters are well defined and easy to love or hate. I started out hating Grace’s mother, Luci, and did not think that would change. Toward the end of the book, I developed more empathy toward her. The storyline flowed smoothly and answered all the questions you had throughout the book. Once again, a very good British psychological thriller that I think you will love if you like this genre. A solid 4 stars.

Thank you to NetGally and the publisher and author for the opportunity to read an advanced copy read of this novel for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of K L Slater so I was delighted to read an early copy of this book. It was another great read, Lucie and Blake's daughter Grace has gone missing on whilst walking back from her friend's house, a journey that should only take 5 minutes. The first time she has been allowed to walk home herself, surely it can't be a coincidence that someone has taken her?
This book is every parent's worst nightmare, your child has disappeared with no trace.. However, dark secrets from the past always come to light and it seems that someone is hellbent on revenge. I like how the author holds every character up to scrutiny making us question their motives, guilt and innocence, painting them all as suspects at some points. There are perhaps one too many coincidences along the way, but all in all this is a great twisty read which keeps the reader turning the pages.
