I have read all of K L Slater’s books and this one did not disappoint.
Grace has disappeared and the police and local community are looking for her.
Meanwhile her mother is hiding her own secret.
Thanks to a NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to
read this.

Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was one I will admit I was a little apprehensive about reading as I have read similar themed booked and was unsure this one could live up. However this book did not disappoint, It was really enjoyable to read. Its told from the viewpoint of Lucie the mother of the missing child Grace and is told over two times lines; 16 years ago when Lucie was a student and the current day. The writing style really drew you in and I connected well with Lucie as a character. The book contained a few twists some of which I didn't see coming others were fairly obvious to me but overall a very enjoyable read

I am a massive fan of KL Slaters and was really happy to have the chance to read her latest book Finding Grace. In true Slater fashion there is always a lot of suspects, all of whom are hiding secrets from each other. Anybody could have been the guilty one. I love how her books are written and they are always a quick read for me, keeping me up late to finish them. This one was no different - you must read this book.

Grace has just turned 9 and is wanting a bit of independence. The day after her birthday she goes to Alton Towers with her best friend who lives 4 minutes down the road from Grace. On their return her parents allow her to walk home - but she does not make it. Immediately the police are called and the search is on to find Grace. Her parents Lucie and Blake both have secrets they are keeping from each other and they are really put to the test as the investigation continues. Her neighbours and friends all are under the spotlight. They will have to come clean and face their pasts in order to find their daughter.

A big thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased.

I love all Kim Slaters books but this one was AMAZING! We start off with 9year old Grace who has went to Alton towers with her best friend Olivia and her parents(Bev and Mick who are Lucie and Blake’s friends too and love just 4minutes down the road) Grace has just turned 9 the day before and wants a little bit of independence to be allowed to walk home on her own(it’s only 4 minutes away and no roads to cross) after much persuading Lucie finally agrees to let her it’s not far and the can watch for her coming so Mick calls to say thats Grace leaving theirs and Blake goes out to watch for her...but she doesn’t come home! She vanishes into thin air and no one on the street saw anything!
Both Lucie and Blake are hiding things from each other and Grace has a secret of her own! There are so many people that could of taken her and everyone is a suspect! Totally blew my mind was not expecting it to go that way at all! Flew through it in 2 days(well 2nights of staying up till 4am and going to work like a half shut knife because I couldn’t put it down😂) thoroughly enjoyed it! If u want something twisty and exciting and full of suspense then get reading Fonding Grace it was awesome!😘

This book was very well written and was enjoyable to read. The characters were well developed and like-able.The plot moves along at a fairly fast pace. Little Grace goes missing in the blink of an eye while she walks home solo for the first time. We are taken through these parents nightmare with them. Could the motive be her fathers political position? her mothers secret past? or is someone else hiding something ? Does Grace survive this?
I was given the opportunity to read and review this from Netgalley. I have given it 4/5 as i found the plot slightly unoriginal and the ending felt a little rushed, as well there seemed to be a few random sprinkles of info thrown in but never really addressed. For example there are parts of the story making a big deal of the babies bump on his head, and the occurrence itself is noted in detail and then its never mentioned again.

Very quick read. Relatable charecters although the husband may be a bit too forgiving.
Not a lot of misdirection here but for the first half of the book, you did want to know what happened.
I'll definitely be looking for KL Slaters other works.
Thanks for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

***Thanks to NetGalley for providing me a complimentary copy of FINDING GRACE by KL Slater in exchange for my honest review.***

4.5 STARS

Nine-year-old Grace vanishes on her first solo walk home from her friend’s house. Her mother Lucie frantically wonders if karma has come calling from a choice she made sixteen years ago. Now she’s receiving cryptic messages seemingly linked to the past. Time is of the essence due to Grace’s diabetes.

FINDING GRACE kept me wondering until the end. I had reason to suspect nearly everyone due to each person’s tenuous relationship with the truth. Even Grace’s best friend has a secret.

KL Slater drew me in from the get go and I finished the book in a few hours. The only reason I didn’t give FINDING GRACE five stars was that Lucie’s secret felt anticlimactic and was something I had seen on a procedural tv show. Still, I highly recommend #FindingGrace as an unputdownable mystery.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #bookouture for this ARC of #FindingGrace

K.L. Slater provides an outstanding narrative revolving around the mysterious events of a girl gone missing. Slater’s effort to subtly create an undertone of culpability among multiple characters is rewarded as the reader is left questioning everyone’s motive. Secrets, lies, twists and turns all have the reader hanging on until the very last page. Great read. 5 stars.

My thoughts on this title will appear on my blog on February 5/19, closer to the publication date.

Finding Grace was a very quick and easy book to read. It was one of those books that you find yourself saying "just one more chapter" to and then before you know it you are done and nothing else is.

The very first time that Lucie and Blake let their daughter walk home by herself from her friends house she disappeared. Even though they had safeguards in place and a plan to secretly watch her, she still vanished without a trace. Finding Grace followed Lucie and Blake through the heartbreaking hours and days after her disappearance where questions arose and secrets were discovered. It was told in the present and through flashbacks to Lucie's past to paint the full picture.

I will admit that I thought I had it all figured out early on. In my head I thought that some of the events that happened were just too convenient. The opportunity for Grace to vanish was the smallest possible amount of time so it had to be a part of a well thought out plan right? Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. You need to read it to find out. There were plenty of secrets being kept by all parties involved. As the story progressed the direction it was heading became clear and it took most of the guessing out of it. That's not to say that there weren't a few surprises.

The best way to describe this book was that it was like a roller coaster. It started slow as it climbed its way up and then rocketed down and around a few twists and turns before it came to its inevitable end. Most of the excitement was definitely in the last chapters of the book. It was truly entertaining and I'm glad that I buckled myself in and was able to enjoy the ride.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Finding Grace’ by K L Slater in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
To celebrate Grace’s ninth birthday her parents Lucie and Blake let her spend the day with her best friend Olivia and her parents Bev and Mike, and grudgingly let her do the short walk home from their house unaccompanied. Somewhere between Olivia’s house and her own Grace disappears and despite the police and their neighbours combing the area she can’t be found. Lucie thinks Blake is hiding something and during a search of his desk discovers something that shocks her, but Lucie has her own secrets from when she was at university sixteen years ago, and even Grace has a secret she doesn’t want to tell anyone for fear of making her mum ill again.
‘Finding Grace’ is the story of a mother’s nightmare when her child who’s dependent on medication disappears and fears that if she isn’t found quickly she’ll slip into a coma. It’s a superbly chilling psychological thriller that’s very easy to read and impossible to put down, with the tension mounting as the story progresses. It has a mind-blowing plot, interesting characters and twists and turns, but the biggest twist of all comes at the end which wasn’t what I was expecting and left me open-mouthed with surprise. Once again K L Slater has written a stunner of a novel and one which will, to my mind, undoubtedly become a best seller!

WOW.WHAT.A.BOOK! And most importantly why haven't I read KL Slater before this?!?!
Now disclaimer as a mother this book rocked me to my core! Like so much that I was checking on my kids more often and hugging them way to much! Now with this disclaimer this book was AMAZING! Like I was unable to put my kindle down and that if like seriously I read while doing laundry, was walking around reading and would listen when I had to drive anywhere. I devoured this book. I need to know who took Grace and why and if she was ok!
Finding Grace is a heart pounding psychological thriller that had me holding my breath for I would say 98% of the book. When I had a feeling I knew what happened KL threw me a curve ball. This book was amazing! I have a new name to add to my favorite writers EVER! I look forward to heading over to Amazon and one clicking all that KL has written!

I love K L Slater books and this is another fantastic addition to her growing library.
Lucie and Blake Sullivan allow their nine year old daughter to walk home from her friends house and in that short journey she vanishes. Now Lucie is questioning everything and everyone, where is Grace and who’s to blame.
I read this in one sitting and loved every minute. The twists just kept calming and you don’t draw breath until the end!
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC

HOLY CRAP... and breathe….. KL Slater is up there in my fav list for psychological thrillers… what would you do if your daughter went missing, giving a bit of leeway, Lucie & Blake Sullivan allow their 9 year old daughter Grace walk home from her friends house, its only 5 minutes away and she is going to be watched by her friend’s Dad one end and returning to her own house by her Dad, Blake, what could go wrong????
Your worst nightmare come through, Grace disappears into thin air, the neighbours and police carry out extensive searches, door to door but to no avail, there is nothing, no clues, no forensics, no witnesses!!! How and why was Grace taken?

Lucie and Blake are in turmoil but as the hours tick away, Lucie is beginning to doubt her husband, is he to blame for this, he is a local councillor who had a run in with someone on the very same day, he decided to look at his phone instead of looking out for his daughter returning, has someone got a grudge against him? After a shocking discovery in his office desk, Lucie is unsure she can trust her husband, he is lying to her and hiding something from her but is it related to Grace going missing?

However, he’s not the only one keeping secrets, has Lucie something to hide? Maybe she is to blame but she doesn’t want to even think about that, its not possible! Her mental stability is on a knife edge!

The book goes from present day to 16 years ago when Lucie was in college, something significant happened that unfolds throughout the book that changed Lucie’s life forever!

What an absolutely gripping psychological thriller, anyone with children and even those without will be holding their breath, sitting on the edge of your seat, they say the first 48 hours decide the fate of a taken child….. strap yourself in and get ready for the ride of your life, you’re in for a rough one!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

he book blurb sounded very good it drew me in and I knew I had to read this book. The story had a strong start, relatable characters, and you could feel the emotions. But the more I read and the further I got into the book I started noticing that it veered off too much and had a bit too much unnecessary details. I was having trouble keeping my concentration and following the story

This grips you from the very first page! What has happened to Grace, what is Lucie hiding and is Blake also covering something up?
I was a bit concerned about reading another K. L. Slater book so soon after the disappointing ‘The Secret’ that I read at the end of last year, but she has redeemed herself with this one. It is as good as ‘The Mistake’ and ‘The Visitor’, which are the books that got me hooked on her in the first place.
The book is fast paced and doesn’t let up; you just have to know the answers to what has happened. I read this in less than 24 hours, I was supposed to be working on my PhD proposal but put ‘real life’ on one side for the day, so I could get this finished!
I loved the ‘sixteen years ago’ chapters that were telling you the backstory of the awful thing that had happened to Lucie, once this part got going it was shocking and gripping! These chapters were interspersed with current events and also what had happened on the day prior to Grace going missing. It is so well written that you don’t get lost in the shifts of time and they blend together really well. There are also a lot of characters to get to grips with, but they are all rememberable, and again you don’t get confused by them all.
A brilliant psychological thriller, just as you would expect from K. L. Slater!

This right here people is a perfect example of a psychological thriller. K.L. Slater had me wrapped around her finger with this one. I could do nothing else until I found out what happened to Grace.

It was only a five minute walk from the neighbor's house to Grace's home. How did she go missing? Better yet, how did nobody see her? A tight knit community like Violet Rd where everyone knows each other and not one person saw her?

My anxiety continued to rise and I literally felt my stomach knot up as facts about all the neighbors came to light. My suspicions were running awry as the character development grew. Everyone seemed to have something in their past or present that made them a suspect in my mind.

Then the bombshell of Lucie's past is revealed. Is she being made to pay for her prior mistakes? Is karma at work or is someone out to make her pay?

K.L. Slater is actually able to capture the psychological pain that Lucie is feeling and she transferred that to me. I had so much anxiety reading this. Every time I thought I had it figured out, she dropped another detail that blew my mind. If you want a book that you absolutely are not able to put down, that has shocking twists and one hell of an ending, this is it!!!
