When requesting this book, I didn't realize it was a "sneak peek" excerpt of this book. This book was an easy book to jump right into and not want to stop. This book is a young adult book, based off the excerpt, but was well suited for me as a 30 something as well. The premise of the book is friendships and relationships--a Texas girl considering an elite school in Scotland for her senior year in high school. While the excerpt ends at the end of her day of arrival at the school, the book certainly holds your interest and already I have questions of how things were turn out for Millie, the main character. I didn't want it to end and will be finding a way to finish this book now. HELP, someone send me the rest of the book? :)

Thank you for the sneak peek! I can't wait to read the rest! This preview didn't give me enough to write a full review but from what I have read, I can say that I am anxiously waiting to continue the story. I loved the characters in the first and I am excited to see where the story goes and what new faces we get!

I liked what I read, but disappointed that a full galley was not presented. I would not have requested if I'd realized it was only an excerpt. I will likely choose to read the full novel upon publication. I don't feel comfortable providing a full review or rating based off an excerpt. Netgalley's system will not allow me to submit this without a star rating, which is think is foolish. Three stars is where every book begins for me, so that's what I will give this excerpt.

I’ll definitely pick Her Royal Highness up when it comes out!
A boarding school in Scotland, a royal roommate and a queer main character? Sign me up!
Millie seems like a very relatable teenager. I loved the relationship with her father and the Harry Potter references.
The very beginning felt a bit rushed but the pacing slowed down towards the end of the sneak peek.

I am really looking forward to this book. Finally my favorite trope with queer characters, I need this book in my hands so I can know what is about to happen next.

Cute YA story set in Scotland at a prestigious boarding school, with a gay twist and some Hogwarts references thrown in.
The protagonist has a good relationship with her father and step mother. I have read only a sneak peek version, but the characters seem interesting and well developed.

I was given a sneak peek of the book in exchange for an honest review.

So far I'm really enjoying the book! This was definitely a page-turner. Hopefully the rest of the book is as good as this sneak peek because so far it is a very promising premise!

I love the premise of this so far. It's set in an exclusive school with actual royalty! I'm very excited to see how Millie and Flora will interact and how their romance will play out.

I can't wait for the book to come out to see what happens next!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for giving me a sneak peek of the book in exchange for an honest review!

So far I can see myself really enjoying the book! I found myself disappointed that I didn’t have the whole thing which is always a good feeling to have. I LOVE the setting (boarding school?? Scotland??? Sign me up!) and while I’m not sure how I feel about the love interest yet I’m sure I’ll LOVE the romance. I can’t wait to read the whole thing because it’s already exceeded my expectations!

This was only up to chapter 6 but it seemed like I was able to guess the things that were happening. It was too predictable. I still might pick up the book and read the rest to see if it stops being predictable.

Absolutely fantastic first few chapters, I can’t wait to read more. The concept of nerdy American girl attending posh Scottish school, only to have a massive crush on her roommate - perfect. It’s Wild Child plus Princess Diaries, but make it gay. I love it!

Really fun! While I didn't like the first book that much, I'm excited for this one and I can't wait to read more.

Her Royal Highness so far has captivated me. I'm really excited, especially for the sapphic twist on a story that straight people have got to have forever. Millie seems like a really fun character, and the teenagers are all like real teenagers (and I love the use of "the tea is that __" in a book). I'm definitely looking forwards to reading the full book!

I’m so excited about this book! I loved Royals so I was probably going to read this anyhow, but this sneak peek made me all that more excited about it.

Based on an excerpt, this book will likely be full of the same American Ignorant Abroad as Royals--mostly fun teenagers with money and titles.

The sneak peek of Her Royal Highness had me so enthralled that I forgot I was reading a sneak peek and was very upset when I reached the end! Millie is a cute, relatable character and I can’t wait to see all of her adventures in Scotland. The story is fast paced and a quick, fun read. I can’t wait until I get the chance to finish the story.

Every once in a while a sample of a book comes along that actually manages to leave me wanting to read more. Her Royal Highness is one of those. While I will freely admit that this book does appear to fall under a more of a guilty pleasure read for me, but even so it's definitely a book that I will have on my radar to pick up in the future as I very much enjoyed reading the beginning of this novel.

Her Royal Highness begins with Millie Quint giving up her dream school in order to continue a relationship with one of her best friends, a girl called Jude, during her Senior year of high school. But when Jude suddenly gets back together with her ex-boyfriend, cheats on and ghosts Millie, she decides it's time to get out of her hometown and pursue the dream that she was mistakenly willing to put on hold for so long. Soon, with a full scholarship, she arrives at a private school in Scotland that has accepted female students for the first time ever. Lo and behold there's more than just an amazing school to this adventure as Millie soon learns her roommate is an actual princess.

There's definitely a feeling of cliche-ness to the story, but it's well written thus far and definitely leaves you wanting to know more. I wish that there had been a little bit more insight into Princess Flora than just her posh attitude and annoyance at being treated like a normal person rather than a princess, however, I'm sure the book will give a lot more of that. As it stands now, though, I don't feel like I see her as a viable love interest for Millie just yet and it is that piece that makes me a tiny bit reluctant to read the rest of the book, the fear that I won't like who Flora turns out to be. But then, I suppose I'll just have to read the book to find out.

I always worry about the second book in a series being disappointing, but so far this one is even better than I expected. I love Millie already and can't wait to see her adjust to being in a new school and a new country. What she called Flora had me cracking up and I'm dying to see how their relationship progresses.

This preview was fun and I look forward to the whole book. Good characters, loved the concept, and I'm sure it will be good for some laughs and sympathetic chuckles.
