Wow, any unbelievable journey that’s full of adventure, understanding and heartbreak that will delight you and intrigue you; wishing you could go, but in the end will make you happy just to read it about it. The storyline reminds me of Micheal Palin (Monty Python fame) world adventures with its connection to the people, the food and place and no matter where you go, people are happy to try and connect with you. Of course It’s not all fun an games, but that is something you’ll discovered as you read this fantastic book. Happy journey

Seeker by Rita Pomade

This is a fabulous adventure story and travelogue in one. Rita and her husband Bernard have accomplished the dream of many, but the action of few-realizing the bold journey of sailing around the world in the 1980s.

A better travel guide would be hard to find. Name a country, a food or a culture and Rita was there to try it. Bernard was the ship taskmaster, always busy with the boat, but Rita; she was everybody’s friend and kept a journal- hence this book.

Like a friend over a glass of wine, Rita shares tales of this trip, years in the planning and living, with all the pleasures, perils, doubts and hardships. Running out of money was a constant problem, as were storms on the sea and in her marriage to Bernard, and, oh, the beauty of the landscapes, the waters and natural foods! The beauty of it will astound you.

This book will appeal to the nomad hidden in those with a dream to roam, to those who love to meet others, try their foods and languages, and it may spark something even in the most sedentary reader. Travel with Rita and Bernard in this wonderful tale of adventure!
