An enjoyable, though slightly disjointed read, as the off, off, on love story didn't really mesh with the activities on the hospital ward.

Leo, the doctor, was a bastard, who I never warmed to. Not sure what Davie actually saw in him.

Despite all this though it was an easy read.

I'm always a fan of MM and this had sweet moments but it doesn't matter if its male or females I hate the story lines with the "never again story lines", where the shields are up and they won't even try. Which then leads into the miscommunications and assumptions. blah blah which infuriates me and then makes the characters forgettable.

However, since I'm in Canada, the language is different in the medical world so that was neat to experience. And even though I was getting frustrated I ended up liking Liam and Davie

Unlocking the Doctor's Heart was an easy read, but a bit slow. I enjoyed the book but it was drawn out.

3-3.5
This is a tough one. I really liked the story and the characters but...

I really wanted to like this one and there were parts of it that I did, but there was just something that kept me from really getting into Unlocking the Doctor's Heart. I hate to say this, because most of the time, I'm wishing for more to a story. In the case of Davie and Leo, I think that their story would have been better if it had been shorter. Why? Well, it just felt like there was too much back and forth of the same doubts from both Davie and Leo. A lot could have been settled sooner than it was. *sigh*

unlocking the doctor's heart is a category romance that feels like an old school betty neels harlequin except the main characters are both men. doctor leo westbury is an up-and-coming surgeon working the transplant ward, and new hire nurse davie penrose is a distraction he both wants desperately and is afraid to give into.

leo has faced loss before, and since then only meaningless flings have been his standard. when davie meets him, he's already been warned about the playboy doctor, and since he's already had a bad breakup with someone just like that he's not interested in being another notch on leo's bedpost.

but they are drawn to each other. and for the longest time they keep it friendly. but one night a line is crossed. and then they are both confused about what they want. and they have some ups and downs before they figure it all out.

**unlocking the doctor's heart will publish on january 21, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/ninestar press in exchange for my honest review.

Davie Penrose left his successful career and moved to a new city to work in the children's transplant ward. When he was about starting a job in the new hospital, he could not get in because he did not have his staff pass leaving him arguing with the desk clerk. During those moments, our sexy doctor, Doctor Leo Westbury helped him and later took him around the hospital. As they worked together, the tension started to heat up. Leo found that Davie was bossing him around and Davie thought that Leo was annoying and snobby. They later became friend after helping the children in their section. However, both of them especially Davie had their personal issues they needed to solve.

I personally cannot really feel the soul of the story. Davie keeps telling that he does not want to date with other men yet he keeps thinking differently. Several issues with the ex and things seem like being left there without resolution. I know that it is a happy ending one, but it also seems like all the things are packed and the story like...BUM! comes to its end. I think several additional scenes functioned like the "glue" will be helpful-well not to prolong the story but to give more chemistry to the story and to sweeten it.

Davie Penrose has taken the risk of coming to London from Cornwall despite all his friends and family advising him against it. He needs to spread his wings as a nurse and move on from past hurt. He is warned off Doctor Leo Westbury but starts to realise there is more to him than his ambitious and snooty exterior. They become friends and Davie finds himself relying on him for support. Leo can’t let himself become attached to anyone after his painful past so tries to keep Davie firmly in the friend zone. Very detailed and moving account of life in a children’s transplant ward with insight into Davie and Leo’s lives. . I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was okay for me. I found the relationship between Davie and Leo to be a bit awkward personally so this wasn’t my favorite

One of those entertaining books easy to read. Half into it a bit slow because one guesses the end of the story right from the beginning anyway. A romance. Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book.

Not my favorite book of the year and I've only read seven. Now, this had promise but the whole relationship was just not believable to me. It was strangely forced and there was no romantic chemistry at all. Thank you for the chance to read an Early Galley of this book.
