I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I like that the character Maisie is biracial. You don't see that a lot in books yet. The illustrations are different. I didn't like them as much as I liked the message of the book.

A fantastic story about the importance of identity and family. The illustrations are bright and engaging I love adding diverse stories like this one in my classroom.

I've read so much about this book including interviews with the author and book reviews by other bloggers. I liked what I could see but the book didn't download right for me. I've had a lot of trouble with children's picture books on NetGalley. I'd be thrilled to review if you could send me a PDF. I blog about socially engaged, diverse children's literature at RaiseThemRighteous.com.

Beautifully illustrated story about a blended family and how they are different and yet the same. Many children will relate to the story, understanding that people have different interests, talents, and even their appearance but inside we are all the same. A story that will encourage parents and children to talk about their own family and how they are similar and how they are different.

This is a story of a little girl and the tall tales her dadda tells. It’s a look at a family where mom and dad are quite different, but love is the key. It’s a nice story, and the illustrations are lovely, but I don't care for the cover. There are better and more vibrant pictures within the pages than on the outside.

Maisie's Scrapbook is a sweet family story from the point of view of the child. Maisie lives with two loving parents who are very different from one another bit love her equally. The young girl tells of the differences between her parents, but always brings it back to how much they love her.

Not a bad story for littles! I like the differences between the parents the little one sees, and how each parent contributes to raising her to be herself. Nice tale! Lovely illustrations! Very creative and imaginative story.

"They hug the same way."
"They nag the same way."

This is the way that Maisie describes her parents. They are different, and yet they are similar. Her mother plays the violin, her father plays the marimba. Her mother is white, her father is black, but they both love her the same way, and that is all that matters in the end.

This is a delightful picture book for children who want to see themselves in what they read. That know that despite their parents being from two different places, they will love her just the same.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
