Thank you to Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review. I found the conversational style of this book a bit difficult to enjoy, it was a little loose and I felt this way of telling a story was better suited to a podcast. However it was interesting to learn of Chad’s journey and I was happy to share in his success. He should be very proud of himself. |
3 stars Ehh, I was expecting so much more from this book. It's good as far as it goes; however, it just misses a lot. Chad quickly becomes a little self-righteous and judgemental. I admit I watch 600-pound life and feel compassion towards those portrayed and the show and their struggles. This book just triggered annoyance towards Chad. Some many really like this book but is just not for me. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. |
I'm in Here Somewhere as told to and written by Celeste Prater is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in mid-January. The story of Chad Dean, who’d appeared on My 600lb Life on TLC. It's hugely confrontational, speaking out at the reader with first-person narration in a series of font sizes, bold, and italics, and the photos set up like a scrapbook piece with insets/captions of criticism and inner dialogue. |
