I absolutely adored this book. “The Unhoneymooners” is one of those rare books that had me actually laughing out loud and unable to put it down. The main characters are so easy to love and I just couldn’t help but root for them. I would love to see their story continued in a sequel. Well done as usual, Christina Lauren!

Olive is the counterpart to her twin Ami in a lot of ways. Where Ami lucks into everything, Olive finds she is always tripping into bad luck. On Ami's wedding day (where she has managed to win tons of free stuff) Olive's luck seems to change, at the expense of the whole wedding party. Through these series of unfortunate events, Olive finds herself taking her sister's honeymoon, but she's not alone. With her is the groom's surly brother Ethan, who has always disliked her and can barely get her name right.
The two are stuck together for the trip, but that doesn't mean they have to be together all the time. They can just enjoy the free vacation. But so much time together may change things.
I loved this book. It had a great back and forth and good character development. Olive and Ethan were flawed, funny, and honest characters, easy to root for. I was glad that the author took the time not just to focus on these two main characters, but to illuminate their lives more fully by exploring their families.
I will say that there were a couple parts the book felt a little too long, but I'd highly recommend this for fans of romantic comedy books, especially if they enjoyed "The Hating Game" by Sally Thorne, or Roomies, by this author.

Fabulous romance! Terrific setting and larger than characters made this a highly enjoyable read. Will be recommending!

Always hilarious and just a blast to read; I was so looking forward to this new release. If you are a fan of enemies-to-lovers romances, you have to read this book. Hilarious from the get-go, the authors just nail the witty, snarky conversations that make this such a delight to read.
They say there is a fine line between love and hate and in this book, we find that line. Thrown together to help their respective siblings, you can't help but laugh out loud in spots at their uncomfortable situation with each other.
But hey, they get a free vacation! What could go wrong??? Only so many things!
One of my favorite skills these authors show is the ability to write in such a fashion that you A) cannot stop reading B) fall in love with the characters and C) close the cover with a smile and a big sigh...
Olive and Ethan are a perfect pair and The Unhoneymooners is a highly addictive read loaded with sweet heat, a sexy hottie, funny scenes and conversations that make this story a must-read. A 5 Star story that cannot be missed!
Another funny, touching, amazing read. God, I love this team! That are just so good!

Oh what a fun book this was! I've recently started getting into the contemporary romance genre and have absolutely loved everything I've read by Christina Lauren, so I was so excited I had the opportunity to read this ARC from netgalley. This book didn't disappoint and was devoured it in just two sittings, and left me wishing I was on the beaches of Hawaii with a fruity cocktail.
Olive Torres sees herself as being the unlucky twin – bad luck just seems to find her. When her twin sister and entire wedding party comes down with a severe case of food poisoning from the seafood buffet, only Olive and her arch nemesis and brother-in-law Ethan are left untouched. Suddenly, Olive and Ethan find themselves taking the free honeymoon as a vacation. However, a holiday in Hawaii doesn’t stop Olive and Ethan from butting heads, but after a series of unforeseen events require the two of them to pretend to be a couple, the pretend feelings might just start to be the real deal.
I dove into this book the day after I finished "The Hating Game" so I was a little familiar with the enemy to lovers who fall a little in love during a game of paintball, However that did not stop me from enjoying this book. I found Olive's sense of humor refreshing, and I loved seeing the relationship between Olive, her sister and family grow throughout the course of the novel.

As I’ve said in previous reviews, no one writes contemporary romances quite like the amazing duo of Christina Lauren. I read the synopsis once and immediately requested the book and I’m so extremely thankful I was approved. The Unhoneymooners was like reading my own romantic fantasies come to life: hate-to-love romance, fake dating trope, and a dream vacation to Hawaii.
Everytime I pick up a CLo book, there are a few things I expect to find within the pages: a quirky, relatable heroine, witty banter, scenes that make me laugh out loud (or at least snort unattractively), and a swoon-worthy love interest. And thankfully, The Unhoneymooners checked all those boxes. The only reason I did not give this book five stars, was that it was surprisingly light on the tension/angst, especially considering the plot literally revolves around two characters who hate each other, pretending to be in love.
The Unhoneymooners is a seriously fun and lighthearted read, perfect for the summer! This book is perfect for fans of The Proposal, The Hating Game, or Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Christina Lauren know how to write contemporary romance and it shows with every book they write.

I have a love-hate relationship with Christina Lauren. I love their books, but I always put off starting a new one because I hate that they will eventually end. I had the same dilemma with The Unhoneymooners. That gorgeous cover was staring at me from my Kindle screen, but I needed to jump right in. So I did. And I was heavily rewarded.
Olive Torres is my spirit animal. I don't think it was possible for me to have loved her more than I did. From the very first thought in her head, I connected to her in a way that doesn't usually happen for me until much later in a story. She was smart and sassy, but it was more than just that. There was a deep venerability to Olive that had me wanting to talk it all out.
Ethan Thomas was just perfection. Ornery on the outside and a complete teddy bear on the inside. He had his flaws, and there was more than a few times I wanted to smack his face, or at the very least give his shoulders a shake and tell him to wake the heck up! But when everything you think you knew gets flipped upside down, it's understandable to need some time to figure it all out.
I really enjoy a good enemies to lovers story, but too often, the hate isn't true hate. It's just on the surface, and underneath the characters really love each other. That is most definitely not the case in this book. Olive and Ethan hate each other. The kind of hate that festers in your bones and takes such root in your makeup that it will take an act of God to change it. Or, perhaps just forced proximity and a fake relationship can show you what you've been missing all along.
I wanted to shut out the world and lose myself in this story from the moment I read the first page. If you're looking for feels, this story has all of them. You're going to run through all the usual emotions, and you might even find some you didn't know you had. Christina Lauren have a flawless and seamless prose that floats off the page directly into your soul. My soul is sad that this story is over, but it eagerly anticipates what's to come.

This story was a lot of fun and romantic. I have really come to love and respect these authors and their works. I enjoyed the animosity between Olive and Ethan and loved watching it grow into something more. Their perceptions of each other were a little skewed and their reasons for avoiding each other at first were a little contrived, but when it came to the actual relationship, that's where the writing began to really shine. I felt every argument and wanted to cry at one point during a larger misunderstanding. I will say that I'm proud that olive stuck to her guns and didn't just roll over because a hot guy didn't like what she had to say. Overall, this was a very entertaining story and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read it.
This is an excellent read for anyone who loves enemies to lovers stories and people who enjoy vacation reads. It will make a great beach read this summer. I look forward to more amazing stories from this dynamic duo.

You can't go wrong with a Christina Lauren title. This one was just as fun and jaunty as the others I've read. A good pretending-to-be-partners plot is a durable and time-honored romance trope, and the execution here was great.

Another amazing book from Christina Lauren! I absolutely loved the banter between Ethan and Olive. You know how some playful banter could get annoying? Not with these two. Whenever they were involved, there's a 95% chance of me laughing. I absolutely loved Olive's character because she does not care about what people think about her appearance. Although this book is a rom-com, there's also its fair share of drama to keep the readers on the edge of their seats or wherever they may be reading.

THE UNHONEYMOONERS by Christina Lauren was the first I’ve read by this talented duo and will not be the last. I loved the characters from the very beginning. Setting up the twins as polar opposites made for entertaining reading before you even added in the brothers. I loved the humor and the relationships and the tension and the plot twists. I couldn’t stop myself from reading this book until 3am because it was so engaging and awesome. For those that love romance stories full of humor that provide excellent escapism, this is a book to check out. Thank you Netgalley and Gallery Books for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This book was just what I needed due to stress. It made me laugh out loud. The maid of honor (twin to the bride) and the best man (brother to the groom) are sent on the honeymoon because the bride and groom come down with food poisoning. I loved Olive! She is so funny! I recommend this book to anyone that needs a good laugh.

Christina Lauren is always at the top of my TBR pile, and The Unhoneymooners did not disappoint. I read this book on a cross-country flight and my seatmates were quite often looking at me as I was laughing out loud. Such a great, funny read and will be the perfect beach read. Fans of the author will not be disappointed, and I think it's also a great read for newcomers to the author.

"The Unhoneymooners" reminded me a little of "The Kiss Quotient" in that it was a light, quick, enjoyable read. Olive and Ethan's love story and the entire plot line was a bit predictable, but I think that is to be expected with a book like this. I found it a little difficult to keep all of the family members straight, similar to "Crazy Rich Asians" but for the most part they were secondary to the story line. It was fun to see Olive and Ethan's love (starting with like!) develop and I enjoyed the cute, playful banter. Overall, a little silly but an easy, light read.

Talk about a laugh-a-minute read! Honestly, I feel as if this needs to be on every summer reading list and in every beach bag from coast to coast. The Unhoneymooners is a love-hate trope written with the comedic finesse that only the writing duo of Christina Lauren can deliver.
Maid of honor and best man, Olive, and Ethan bring the house down with their subtle shade and witty one-liners. Reading this book is a perfect way to spend an afternoon in the sun.
5 Hawaiian adventure stars!

Thank you @netgalley and and @gallerybooks for an Advance Readers Copy of The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
When newlyweds Dane and Ami become violently ill following their wedding reception, they send their sparring siblings Ethan and Olive on their non-refundable, all-inclusive Hawaiian honeymoon in their place. A series of misunderstandings and awkward circumstances unfold, but of course true love wins in the end.
I love almost any book that takes place on a vacation of some sort, whether it be thriller, romance, or straight up literary fiction. The Maui setting was dreamy and exotic enough to be perfect for a light romance, although the island wasn’t as prominent in the story as I would have liked (this story really could have taken place anywhere). I liked that Olive is a smart, assured protagonist, and enjoyed the eventual chemistry between Ethan and Olive, but I found the main conflict in the story to be silly.
I don’t read a great deal of romance, but mostly enjoyed this light novel and would be interested in reading something else by the duo.
🚦—> green light! I think a lot of readers will enjoy this one. Throw it in your beach bag this summer or pack it on vacation!

Ami and her new husband get food poisoning at her own wedding. Olive, her twin, has not eaten the tainted food, nor has Ethan, the best man. Ami convinces Olive to use the honeymoon reservations and to take Ethan with her to act as the newly weds. Olive has a distinct dislike for Ethan, but agrees to go. A delightfully comic romp you won't want to miss.

One of my favorite Christina Lauren books to date — smart, funny, and totally addictive. This will be the perfect beach read this summer.

I think it is fitting that I started reading this book on St. Patrick’s Day with the ‘luck of the Irish’ fresh in my veins.
Olive Torres believes in luck but feels like all of hers is bad and her twins luck is all good. Turns out nothing could be further from the truth. When only two people don’t get food poisoning, they are the lucky ones. When those two people don’t get along but get an all expenses paid trip to Maui, that’s still lucky. Finding someone that truly loves you is the best luck of all.
Olive and Ethan were funny and honest and sexy. When the honesty is questioned it was sad but that true love thing won out on the end.

Olive Torres is preparing for her twin sister Amy’s wedding. While she extremely happy for her sister and her soon-to-be-husband, Dane; what she’s not happy about is having to deal with Dane’s brother, Ethan. Ethan has made it no secret that she is not one of his favorite people and Olive has yet to figure out why.
To say her luck isn’t the best is an understatement but when the entire wedding party and attendees gets a horrible case of food poisoning Olive’s luck begins to look up…sounds crazy but with everyone including the Bride and Groom, Olive finds herself taking her sister place on this all-inclusive Honeymoon her sister won. Finally, something is working out for her. Until she realizes that Dane has promised the same trip to his brother Ethan. Seven whole days spent with the guys who seems to hate her guts.
I enjoyed the hell out of these two. I didn’t think I would, but I really did. Their banter was amazing. With the first description of Ethan, I didn’t expect him to have a sense of humor but Ethan was quite funny. I love how he continuously called Olive all sorts of variations of her name to get under her skin. At some point the insults they hurled at each other just became a part of who they were.
When Olive runs into her new boss she’s forced to create a lie telling him she was just recently married so having to pretend that she and even are in love just added to the hilariousness of the situation
He presses a hard, fast kiss to my cheek, and I force myself not to jerk away like I’ve been slapped with a dead lizard.
The flip side to all of this is that the two of them are definitely physically attracted to each other and once they decide to cross the line, they now have to work through issues that Olive seems to have with Dane.
So, one thing I loved about this book was Christina Lauren’s ability to show the douche-ie part of characters without making it take over the storyline in general. I loved the way she wrote Olive’s internal struggle with her new brother-in-law and the struggle Ethan has with Olive’s less than impressive opinion of his brother.
I also loved how Ethan was the more “relationship type” of the two and how it’s really his heart that on the line in the relationship.
“I’ve always assumed my attraction was obvious. I wanted to translate your frowns and find out what your problem with me was and then bend you over the back of my couch.” All of my internal organs turn to goo at his words. I work to remain upright, letting my head fall back into the crook of his neck. “You still haven’t answered my questions,” he reminds me quietly. I bite back a smile at his persistence. “Is this just a fling?” “yeah,” he says. “I’m fine with a fling, I guess, but I want to know so I can figure out how to handle it once we’re home.” “You mean whether or not you’ll tell Dane?” I ask carefully. “I mean whether I’ll need some time to get over you.”
Definitely a good read.
