I think it is fitting that I started reading this book on St. Patrick’s Day with the ‘luck of the Irish’ fresh in my veins.

Olive Torres believes in luck but feels like all of hers is bad and her twins luck is all good. Turns out nothing could be further from the truth. When only two people don’t get food poisoning, they are the lucky ones. When those two people don’t get along but get an all expenses paid trip to Maui, that’s still lucky. Finding someone that truly loves you is the best luck of all.

Olive and Ethan were funny and honest and sexy. When the honesty is questioned it was sad but that true love thing won out on the end.

Olive Torres is preparing for her twin sister Amy’s wedding. While she extremely happy for her sister and her soon-to-be-husband, Dane; what she’s not happy about is having to deal with Dane’s brother, Ethan. Ethan has made it no secret that she is not one of his favorite people and Olive has yet to figure out why.
To say her luck isn’t the best is an understatement but when the entire wedding party and attendees gets a horrible case of food poisoning Olive’s luck begins to look up…sounds crazy but with everyone including the Bride and Groom, Olive finds herself taking her sister place on this all-inclusive Honeymoon her sister won. Finally, something is working out for her. Until she realizes that Dane has promised the same trip to his brother Ethan. Seven whole days spent with the guys who seems to hate her guts.
I enjoyed the hell out of these two. I didn’t think I would, but I really did. Their banter was amazing. With the first description of Ethan, I didn’t expect him to have a sense of humor but Ethan was quite funny. I love how he continuously called Olive all sorts of variations of her name to get under her skin. At some point the insults they hurled at each other just became a part of who they were.
When Olive runs into her new boss she’s forced to create a lie telling him she was just recently married so having to pretend that she and even are in love just added to the hilariousness of the situation
He presses a hard, fast kiss to my cheek, and I force myself not to jerk away like I’ve been slapped with a dead lizard.
The flip side to all of this is that the two of them are definitely physically attracted to each other and once they decide to cross the line, they now have to work through issues that Olive seems to have with Dane.
So, one thing I loved about this book was Christina Lauren’s ability to show the douche-ie part of characters without making it take over the storyline in general. I loved the way she wrote Olive’s internal struggle with her new brother-in-law and the struggle Ethan has with Olive’s less than impressive opinion of his brother.
I also loved how Ethan was the more “relationship type” of the two and how it’s really his heart that on the line in the relationship.
“I’ve always assumed my attraction was obvious. I wanted to translate your frowns and find out what your problem with me was and then bend you over the back of my couch.” All of my internal organs turn to goo at his words. I work to remain upright, letting my head fall back into the crook of his neck. “You still haven’t answered my questions,” he reminds me quietly. I bite back a smile at his persistence. “Is this just a fling?” “yeah,” he says. “I’m fine with a fling, I guess, but I want to know so I can figure out how to handle it once we’re home.” “You mean whether or not you’ll tell Dane?” I ask carefully. “I mean whether I’ll need some time to get over you.”

Definitely a good read.

I loved this book! It was it light, laugh-out-loud funny, and sweet! I caught myself smiling a lot while reading and really enjoyed the characters and the picture the authors painted of this big, messy loving family. Although a little predictable, I nevertheless was rooting for the happy ending I hoped/knew would come. Definitely a great read for the. Owing summer months.

I adore this duo of authors. They are one of my favorites. This story left me with a smile on my face and my heart light. I enjoyed every moment of it. It is sweet and fun and I found myself laughing out loud. They always make me swoon for their characters and they always keep me reading and wanting more. I can't wait for their next story.

This was a hilarious book and kept me entertained throughout the entire book. I didn't pause in reading it which is kind of abnormal for me unless I really like something. This writing duo is not slowing down and seems to just be getting better each book they do. If you want something fun, light and interesting - this is the book for you.

Olive and Ethan's personalities rub each other the wrong way but that soon changes as they take their newly married siblings honeymoon for them. Great story that was hilarious at times. Loved the Hawaii setting. The relationship had quite a bit of ups and downs but the story ended very well. Highly recommend for a fun read.

I didn’t think I’d ever love a Christina Lauren book more than I loved Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating but The Unhoneymooners came pretty damn close.

I love a good hate-to-love story so I was already pretty onboard with this book when I read the synopsis. The novel follows Olive who believes she’s cursed with bad luck. While her twin sister, Ami, has a knack for winning things, Olive has always gotten the short end of the stick, until Ami’s wedding. At the reception, everyone gets food poisoning except Olive, who’s allergic to shellfish, and Ethan, Ami’s new brother-in-law, who avoids buffets at all costs. Thus, Ami enlists Olive to take her place on her honeymoon and Ami’s husband, Dane, enlists Ethan to take his and the pair are off, though they both agree they hate each other, to which I say, “Sure Jan.”

Naturally, the pair start their vacation on a rocky start but when Olive runs into her new boss at the hotel and tells him she’s there with her “new husband” Ethan and Olive have to place nice to keep up the charade, and then continue playing nice when they then run into Ethan’s ex, until suddenly they’re not playing anymore.

I loved these two. Their easy banter was hilarious and I loved how they messed with each other, especially when they called each other the wrong names. Their chemistry was there even when they “hated” each other and it was so fun seeing them figure out what was so obvious. Additionally, I loved that their romance wasn’t the major plot of this book. Besides a terrible misunderstanding, there was another major factor involved in why Ethan and Olive didn’t get together and when that’s revealed it not only affects Ethan and Olive but their siblings as well.

I read this book while on vacation and I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t sleep until I finished it because I needed to know how it would end, and it was totally worth the lost sleep. It was amazing to see Olive grow as a person and also stick to her guns even when it seemed like everything and everyone was working against her. I also loved that Ami and Olive were Mexican and came from this big family filled with cousins because I could totally relate. Their family made this book even more enjoyable and I loved how they went to the end of the Earth and back again for each other.

Overall, I highly recommend picking this book up when it comes out. It’s definitely one of, if not the best Christina Lauren book I’ve ever read (and I’ve read almost all of them!). I’ve already reread this book and I’m sure I’ll do so again before it’s released. It’s a must read!

I expected this book to be a fun filled enemies to lovers story, and it completely met my expectations. This was a blast to read. I love the way Christina Lauren writes their stories, and this one had me smiling from ear to ear.

Olive Torres is an identical twin. Although they look just alike, her sister Ami is her opposite in so many ways. Ami is the lucky one. And Olive, well she has no luck at all.

Ami is getting married and being the overachiever that she is, she’s devised a plan (along with a lot of luck) to get her wedding paid for. And it works out for her. So here is Olive, in a hideous bridesmaid dress having to tolerate her sworn enemy, the grooms brother, Ethan. It’s not her best day. But maybe her luck is beginning to change… I mean, her allergy to shellfish saves her from the serious food poising almost every person at the wedding gets.

Ami is so ill she can’t go on her own honeymoon. And since it’s a non-refundable free trip, she insists Olive pretends to be her and goes in her place. Ethan, who also missed the food poising due to his aversion to buffets is invited to go as well. So here Olive is. With Ethan. On an romantic, exclusive get away. You can tell where this is going, right? Yes. And it’s going to be so much fun!

I loved watching Ethan and Olive together. They seriously cracked me up. Olive is an endearing main character. Her luck was awful, but maybe at the end she really did end up being the lucky one. And Ethan. Ethan is hilarious, sweet, and completely misunderstood. Olive realizes that soon enough.

Where this was a fun rom-com, there were also a lot of obstacles this couple faced. It wasn’t all laughs and smiles. There was a bit of drama, a bit of angst, but overall it was hilarious, sweet, had the best banter, and I adored it! For all my friends that love a good enemies to lovers story and a book that will make you laugh out loud, pick this one up!

A funny romance read that would be great for the beach. The characters are memorable. The plot is engaging. This is my first book by this author but it won't be my last.

I really enjoyed The Unhoneymooners. It has a kind of standard setup for women's fiction/chick lit: two characters who hate each other have to pretend to be a couple and then fall for each other. Olive's twin sister married Ethan's younger brother, and everybody at the wedding reception except for Olive (food allergies) and Ethan (won't eat at a buffet) got serious food poisoning from bad shellfish. When the bride and groom are too sick to use their non-refundable honeymoon to Hawaii, Olive and Ethan take the free trip. The reason the story works for me is that the characters are great. Well, I like Olive a whole lot more than I like Ethan, to be fair. But Olive's family is great, and there are lots of misunderstandings and plenty of drama, which combine to make a fun and fast read.

I really enjoy Christina Lauren's books and this was no exception. The banter between the hero and heroine was fun, and it was delightful to see the characters go from hating each other to loving each other. The secondary characters, including Olive's family were great, and I really enjoyed the emphasis in the latter part of the book about Olive's relationship with her twin.

absolutely loved this book from christina lauren. it was incredible to read about a curvy, unashamed lead. I loved her relationship with her family. I think this sort of representation is important.

I liked this book as an easy, beachy-type read. I did find the beginning much stronger than the ending. The ending felt a little rushed. Overall, this book is going to appeal to readers who like love-hate romantic comedies.

This book is hilariously endearing... CL RomCom at it's finest! It's the perfect summer/vaca read. Multi cultural, with so many relationship dynamics, Christina & Lauren continue to surprise me with the depth of their writing abilities. I could EASILY see this book being made into a movie. So good, so freaking good!

I am aware of Christina Lauren books but I have never read any of her others. I was honestly drawn to the cover of this book before anything else. I don't really enjoy romantic reads much and don't pick them up often. I am so glad I did! This was a first romantic comedy for me in a long while as well as my first Lauren as mentioned and I was pleasently surprised. It was utterly hilarious! Even though the majority of it became predictable, many romantic comedies do and it didn't take away from it. I loved Olive and Ethan as characters. Their dynamic together was hilarious and well written. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times and having a huge smile plastered on my face in many other parts as well.

Lauren does an amazing job with connecting the reader to her character's feelings in this book without over-doing it. I really enjoyed reading this even through all of the cringe-worthy parts.  Watching Olive grow as a character was also nice. She goes through a bunch of "unlucky" circumstances but throughout everything ends up growing as a person and her self transformation is just as wonderful as her and Ethan's transformation.

I devoured this book and highly reccommend to read it. It is a perfect vacation, beach, by the pool, book and I will definitely have to go back and read some of Lauren's previous works.

In my mind, Christina Lauren can do no wrong. Although this wasn't my favorite of theirs, it was still highly enjoyable and I'll never stop reading what they put out.

The premise of this book reeled me in immediately. Just imagine being sent on your dream vacation (aka your sister's honeymoon) to Hawaii with a man you hate (but one that is extremely attractive of course...) The enemies-to-lovers trope is always a fun one. The banter and one-liners between Olive and Ethan led to fantastic sexual tension. I found myself laughing out loud at their antics.

However, unlike most Christina Lauren books, I found some pieces I didn't like. For instance, Olive's twin sister's new husband Dane. Not only was he completely unlikeable but he had blind followers out of Ami (the twin) and Ethan. I didn't like this at all. I understand they both love him but they could've used a little more backbone and intuition.

Overall, I would 100% recommend this book to any fan of Christina Lauren or the contemporary romance genre. The scenery, the antics, Olive's mishaps, Ethan's good looks, the sexual tension. It was a lot of fun and, as always, super cute.

For a woman who seems to have bad luck with her every move, could her twin sister's ill fortune turn her luck around? That is the overall premise of this frenemies love story.

Olive Torres has never been a lucky girl, and her life just seems to be heading for a downward spiral, with the recent loss of her job and dwindling finances. However, the life takes a turn for the better, maybe, when she has to take her sister's, Amelia "Ami", place on a honeymoon, following a very unfortunate incident at Ami's wedding. The only catch is that Olive has to go with Ethan Thomas, the groom's brother, who she can't stand.

For Ethan, the feeling is mostly mutual, but who passes up a free vacation to Hawaii? All these two frenemies have to do is pretend to be married. Yikes! Good turns to bad early on when the reluctant couple run into not one, but two, people they know on the island, making the lies that much more difficult.

I thought Olive and Ethan were a bit immature with each other, and once they finally communicate like adults, they discover their hatred doesn't run deep at all. Basically, everything is a big misunderstanding. And once that discovery is made, the two quickly switch gears to see just how much they were missing out on. While the first part of the book had its humorous moments, in an OMG that's awful sort of way, I liked this second half of the book more.

"It's so exhausting pretending to hate you."

More shocking than their attraction to one another, is the revelations about Ethan's brother, Dane, Ami's new husband. NOT A FAN of his, AT ALL!!

This book did follow some of the authors formula as to when the drama unfolds (I can usually predict when the couple will hit rocky waters). I felt like all of the trust they built with each other, was so quickly dismantled, but that heartbreak usually leads to a sweet reunion, as is the case in this book.

"You think I'm cute?"
"In a gross way."

Overall, this was a fun story and would be a perfect beach read (which has a well timed release, 5/14, right before the summer season).

I think I found my favorite Christina Lauren novel??? The perfect amount of hate-to-love, angst and drama. Also, there isn't any unsolved plot points at the end. Also the epilogue was one of my favorite that they've ever written.

The Unhoneymooners will be an absolute delight for those enjoying chick-lit! It’ll be a rollicking good time!

Personally chick-lit is not my preferred genre. I feel bad assigning only 2 stars to this book, but assigning stars is a requirement. It should be noted that I'm not a chick lit devotee and consequently did not enjoy it, but I think others will.

I appreciate this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
