Christina Lauren is one of my favorites and their books always have me LOLing. The Unhoneymooners is a funny, snarky rom-com about two people that really don't like each other being forced to endure a fake honeymoon. Of course the romantic setting and pretending to be in love pushes them together. It's like something straight out of a Hallmark movie. But when real life swoops in, their relationship is tested. Olive and Ethan's romance was so fun to watch blood, but I really enjoyed about this book was the realness of the conflict. It wasn't drama for the sake of drama, but real life stuff that happens to all of us. The Unhoneymooners is a light and fun romance, the perfect summer beach read!

They were Enemy during wedding and became lovers by end of honeymoon...But that's not all.
Olive's sister was the lucky one who is getting a perfect dress, wedding, reception, honeymoon via sweepstakes. Everything was going the way it suppose to until reception. One bad seafood created wave after wave of throw ups all over the reception. Everyone is hugging the toilet while Olive is trying to salvage her sister's next plan. First class honeymoon suite would be a waste so Olive's sister asked her to take her place...
Ethan's brother is getting married to Olive's sister and he couldn't wait to bug Olive again. When his brother offered his honeymoon since he is sick like his sister in law. He was planning to enjoy the vacation annoying Olive the entire time.
Olive was ready to enjoy the vacation except her nemesis Ethan is coming along. From the first moment, they didn't get along. He always found the way to annoy her or diss her. Now she will have to figure out how to stay in same place with Ethan for entire trip. It will test her patience.
To make things worst, her new job boss assumes she is married and they have to play married couple. Ethan is pretty good sport by playing the part and it is not bad for both to spend so much time together.
As they are spending more time together, they are becoming more than enemies. Olive finds more disturbing news about her brother-in-law. Now unhonemoon is coming to the end and they have to be back but things doesn't go the way Olive imagined. Their little trip created more problems and where do they from there?
There are more stories then enemy to lovers. Banter between Olive and Ethan was great and funny. Olive's family and friends are funny. It was a great read for summer.
Thanks to Netgalley and Gallery books for ARC in exchange for honest review.

This is definitely what you want to reach for when you're looking for a "beach read" with the best kind of Pride and Prejudice vibes. These authors combine wit with romance in a way that really absorbs you and I can see so many people enjoying this one.

Oh man, this is by far my favorite Christina Lauren book so far. I kinda love it. The characters, the story, the comedy, the sexual tension...the actual sexy time. It was all great. I laughed out loud several times. It was cute and hilarious and I couldn't put it down. I wish all the romantic comedies were like this one!

Gah!! There is something about the dynamic duo of Christina Lauren that just does it for me. I’m super excited to binge read some of their past titles that I’ve missed.

Here’s what I loved:
Their hysterical banter, poignant storylines and lovable chemistry between their characters is quite honestly unmatched in this industry. In Unhoneymooners, I fell head over heels in love with Ethan and Olive. Their connection felt genuine and their fast-paced banter was laugh out loud funny.

I especially loved how germaphobe Ethan was completely adorkable and awkward while Olive was sassy and spirited and gave him as good as she got. This really was a fantastic opposites attract story!!

Overall, a really fantastic read that’s sure to please fans of their signature style and wit. Highly Recommended!

This is a perfect summertime read that is filled with humor and romance. Olive and Ami Torres are identical twin sisters whose lives are quite different. According to Olive, Ami gets all the good luck while she gets all the bad. Things change at Ami's wedding when a bout of food posioning takes out all of the wedding party and guests except for Olive and the groom's older brother Ethan. The bride and groom decide to give their Hawaiian honeymoon, which Ami won in a contest, to Olive and Ethan since they cannot go. Ami and Ethan cannot stand each other, but who can turn down a vacation even if they have to pretend to be newlyweds. Ten days in the tropics open their eyes to one another and soon they find pretending is not so hard. Just perfect!

Loved this! I laughed out loud so many times and swooned just as many. Olive is a fantastic character and I loved watching her character grow and change throughout the book. While it's not as steamy as other Christina Lauren books, it still has quite a few open door scenes. Loved this though.

When a freebie queen tries to comp her wedding, she wins sub-par food and all the wedding guests get food poisoning, with the exclusion of the bride's twin sister and the groom's brother, who hate each other. Since they are too sick to make their honeymoon, a complimentary trip to Hawaii, they give the trip to the sister and brother who end up going and... falling in love? starting a relationship?Whatever happens, they get to know each other better and start putting aside their differences, only to return to real life and get wrapped up in the drama between the newlyweds, forcing them to take sides and strain their own relationship.
On one level, this is a fun and enjoyable read. However, the narrative is littered with body conscious references which might be a trigger for readers with body positivity issues. The main character was a curvy Latina who kept defending her appearance and her love interest seemed to refer to her body constantly, in both positive and negative ways.
However, I enjoyed the morality that the authors tried to include in the story where the characters tried to come clean after they had done wrong, even when it was to their disadvantage. I am usually more satisfied when a story isn't resolved in a neat and tidy bow and this definitely felt more like real life than just a fairy tale ending.
I would definitely read more from this author.

Easy, enjoyable, but not my favorite from the authors. The characters seemed to get into so much trouble just because they didn't talk to one another and assumed so many things, ie Ethan hating Olive. It was a pretty quick switch once they got together which felt weird to me. The ending was fine and it definitely had its cute moments.

Yes! This is what I was looking for!! Even though Twice in a Blue Moon wasn’t my favorite, The Unhoneymooners worked for me. Enemies to lovers is becoming my jam.

Funny, swoon worthy and just a fun entertaining read.

Steam level is very low, behind closed doors, but still enjoyed. 4 ⭐️

I devoured this book y’all! I finished it in two sittings! I thought it was super fun. Much like Olive, I sometimes feel like I have a black cloud following me, so I could really relate to her character. When so many bad things happen, if something good happens, I’m usually just waiting for the ball to drop. 🤷🏼‍♀️⁣
⁣
I enjoyed the bickering and sarcastic banter between Olive and Ethan. It reminded me of how me and my boyfriend interact. Also, I took away a really important lesson from this book. Things aren’t always what they seem on the surface. To assume makes an ass out of u and me! 🤣 ⁣
⁣
The ending was exactly what I predicted it to be, but I was perfectly fine with that. This was just a funny, lighthearted story. I laughed throughout the whole book. Overall, I really enjoyed the writing, the characters, and the amazing setting and cover art which just so happened to tee me right up for my own vacation in paradise! 🏖⁣

This book was laugh out loud funny and I loved every single second of it. I'm a big fan of the author duo, Christina Lauren and this book did not disappoint. I'm a sucker for a hate to love romance and this one was just pure perfection. This is definitely a book that I will be rereading in the future!

I really hate buffets so this one caught my attention right away. But for anyone who feels they are unlucky, as if everything in the world is working against them, this is the book for you. I love the shenanigans that happen to Olive and Ethan. They are funny, witty, and plentiful.

The best part is when Olive has to come to terms and fesses up to her new boss of her lie and how heartbreaking it is because she got the guy, but still has things to work out. I’m glad that they continued the story after she got Ethan because it shows that love does not fix all things. It only gives you strength to face the rest of the dilemmas in life. They also demonstrate how not facing issues in life can hurt your loved ones and create remorseful situations for yourself–just like in real life (IRL). So Olive presses on and works through her lies to bring herself to the other side. Some of you may think…”Great she just spoiled it for me.” The fact that she comes out on the other side and there is an HEA isn’t the spoiler because the book is really about how she deals with the issues lying creates in their lives. That’s the real meat of the story. That is the part the writing team put their heart into. We all want to see an HEA–even expect it from them, so no spoilers here folks.

Finally, one of the things I love about this writing duo is that they give a ton of emotion but somehow balance it with comedy at just the right stage. The comedy keeps you from tears even though you feel them behind the eyes. This makes their stories heart warming to me–And of course they give me a HEA every time. I listened to this on Audible and the narrator was hilarious with the different voices. I recommend it either read or listened to. There is enough detail in the book that the voice in your head will do the talking for you. Keep on reading or listening my passengers and as always if you have something to add, disagree with, or agree with, feel free to leave a comment!!

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren started with an interesting premise. I had great hopes for this book and the found the beginning to be well written with strong dialogue. Unfortunately, the story was hard to keep reading shortly after that. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Overall, a really enjoyable book. I feel like the drama was equally dragged out, but also not fleshed out enough. The fight that Ethan and Olive had a lot more nuance than just hating each other, and I think more than an apology was necessary.
