The Unhoneymooners is an entertaining and sexy enemies to lovers romance.  Olive and Ethan don't exactly get along when they end up on the honeymoon meant for their newlywed siblings.  Their unhoneymoon goes from a comedy of errors, like running from people they know in paradise, to unexpectedly enjoying all the experiences the resort has to offer together.  They get to know each other and find they might like (or more than like) each other and discover a not-so-surprising chemistry.  A relationship in paradise is easy compared to coming home to reality.  Christina Lauren continue to develop humorous stories with heart, heat, banter, and characters and relationships you want to root for.

Olive has always been unlucky - in her career, in love, and life in general. When Olive’s twin sister, Ami, gets married, everyone in attendance gets food poisoning - except for Olive and the groom’s brother, Ethan. Ami comes to terms with the fact that she and her husband won’t be able to go on their honeymoon, and asks Olive to go in her place. Suddenly, Olive doesn’t feel so unlucky anymore. The feeling doesn’t last long, as she realizes there’s a catch - Ethan is taking his brother’s place on the honeymoon, and he and Olive don’t exactly get along. A few days into their vacation, Olive and Ethan realize that they’ve misunderstood one another, and slowly start to fall for each other. Unfortunately, before long, complications threaten to tear them apart.

As usual, this amazing writing duo had smiling from ear to ear with every turn of the page. Ethan is my definition of a perfect love interest - sarcastically funny and seriously misunderstood. Olive is so relatable, and I found myself rooting her on during every situation she found herself in. Together, they made a super fun couple - their antics had me cracking up! I also really appreciated the great family dynamic, as it reminded me a lot of my own. If you’re looking for a light, fun romance to pair with a mai tai on the beach - this is the perfect choice!

This was another cute contemporary romance from Christina Lauren. I didn't love it quite as much as Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating but that book is pretty hard to beat for me. While Josh & Hazel told a friends-to-lovers story, The Unhoneymooners was based around an enemies-to-lovers story, one of my favorite romance tropes. 

Olive & Ethan cannot stand each other (or so Olive thinks) - so when circumstances conspire, in a ridiculous and HILARIOUS way, for them to take a honeymoon together, it seems like a bad idea from the start. Add in new bosses, ex-girlfriends, a phony marriage, couples massages, etc. and things get both hilarious and steamy very fast. Olive & Ethan start to get over their longstanding animosity and maybe think they could work this thing out only to come back from their idyllic Maui vacation to an absolute s***storm. While this turn surprised me a little, as I'm used to stories ending at the HEA, Olive & Ethan have a few more storms to weather first and I appreciated watching their relationship mature through some really difficult challenges. 

I think Christina Lauren is (are? how do you phrase this with multiple authors and one name??) only getting better - I love the direction I see their books going, with a lot more real-life situations and comedy. Grab this one for your beach bag this summer (just try to not laugh too loud by the pool).

Christina Lauren does it again! This is the fourth book I’ve read by this witty writing duo and, you guessed it, the fourth book I’ve loved.

Olive Torres has always considered herself to be unlucky.  It’s her twin sister Ami’s wedding day and Olive is down on her luck again. She’s just been laid off from her pharmaceutical job, she’s wearing a horrid green bridesmaid dress, and to top it all off, she’s forced to interact with the groom’s brother and best man, the swoon worthy Ethan Thomas.  

In an unfortunate twist of events, everyone at the wedding comes down with food poisoning...everyone except for Olive and Ethan, that is.  Since her sister’s Hawaiian honeymoon package is non-refundable, Olive and Ethan agree to a ceasefire so that they can claim the trip, posing as newlyweds for 10 days in Maui.  

I absolutely adored this enemies to lovers story. The banter between Olive and Ethan had me laughing out loud non-stop. Their constant bickering was hilarious, the angst was palpable and their chemistry was off the charts. Olive and Ethan are such relatable characters and I was rooting for them from beginning to end.  This book is a must read romantic comedy!

Also, bonus points to the authors for the Harry Potter references!

I was sitting in the car, reading The Unhoneymooners, waiting for my son, and laughing my head off.  This book is so funny, and romantic.  I was also reading late winter in Ohio so the Hawaiian backdrop was delicious.  

Olive and Ami are identical twins but very different people.  Ami is so lucky she's able to put on her wedding for a mere $1,000 thanks to sweepstakes and raffle prizes that allowed her to have an excellent venue, a wedding planner and a fabulous seafood buffet.  Olive is not so lucky.  If anything can go wrong it will, from the "Skittle green" (free) bridesmaid's dress to having to supervise the groom's brother/ best man who she hates.  The one thing that did go right was Olive's allergy to seafood - it saved her from the horrible illness the entire wedding party and guests contracted from the elegant buffet.  Groom Dale becomes very ill with the bride and guests following soon after, but the despised brother, Ethan, has a serious aversion to buffets so is also unscathed.  Olive and Ethan find themselves on a (free) flight to Hawaii for an all -expenses- paid honeymoon since the bride and groom can't leave the bathroom for a few weeks.  Not only will Olive have to pretend to be newly-wedded to Ethan, but she'll have to keep up the pretense for 10 days.  Ethan is VERY handsome, if a little grumpy, and through their forced companionship she gets to know him a lot better and discovers he's not so bad and they actually have more in common than she thought.

You can imagine what happens next, but what makes this novel unique is the witty, well-constructed dialog and well developed plot.  There are many laugh-out-loud moments and lots of pop culture references (which I love!), but there's also poignant drama as Olive comes to terms with what she learns about herself, as well as sordid details of her sister's new marriage.

The Unhoneymooners was a terrific read - very entertaining and lots of fun.  It will be a PERFECT beach read, or fireside read, or anywhere read.  I plan on checking the other books by this talented writing team as soon as possible..

Their “unhoneymoon” takes readers on Olive and Ethan’s adventures and misadventures, and the ride is absolutely hilarious! I typically don’t do rom-coms, but I flew through this read because I couldn’t put it down!

Predictable? Yes. Lacking in entertainment? Definitely NOT.

I can’t wait to get a hard copy of this book!

Olive and her twin sister, Ami, couldn’t be less alike. Ami is organized and structured, frugal and methodical. She’s hit every single expected life milestone at exactly the “right” time. Olive, on the other hand, seems to have a knack for getting it all wrong. She’s scattered and a little crazy, always meaning well but somehow constantly finding herself in less-than-ideal situations. Ami may be ready to settle down with the love of her life, Dane, but Olive is still just trying to get by and figure out what she wants out of her job, her relationships, and, most importantly, herself.

So it’s a cruel twist of fate when Ami’s perfectly planned wedding goes incredibly, horribly wrong. Only two guests are left standing after the seafood buffet unleashes its wrath: Olive…and Ethan, Dane’s insufferable older brother. Despite their deeply felt mutual irritation with each other, Olive and Ethan finally agree to go on Ami and Dane’s (non-refundable) dream honeymoon, while everyone else hugs porcelain back at the hotel. The two may not get along, but they figure they can handle two weeks in paradise, sharing a hotel room at night and going on their own separate adventures during the day. Inevitably, things don’t go according to plan, and, by the end of the trip, they begin to see each other in a new light.

When I say that I love books by (the writing duo that is) Christina Lauren, I mean I LOVE their books. They are fun and light—fluffy, yes, but still refreshingly creative and unpredictable. Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating and My Favorite Half-Night Stand are two of my favorite books from 2018.

I was really expecting to adore The Unhoneymooners, but, sadly, this one fell flat for me. I was intrigued by the Olive-Ethan non-honeymoon set-up, but the execution of the story, especially after the pair return from Maui, is clunky and disjointed. I felt like I was reading a bunch of different novels shoved into one. For example, I had a hard time understanding and believing Ethan’s relationship with Dane. Olive’s job situation jumps all over the place and doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I also didn’t like how extended family is basically non-existent in the first half, but then plays a huge role in the second half of the book. Don’t even get me started on that ridiculous ending, yikes.

I’m just so sad to say that this book had no flow. It still made me smile at parts, and it wasn’t a horrible way to pass a few hours. But ugh, I expected so much more. I’m still ride or die Christina Lauren, but I hope the next book is more solid.

Another perfect Christina Lauren book! I typically don't enjoy the Hate to Love romance plotline, but this one sucked me in! Fun set up, great romance, great side characters. Truly enjoyed this one.

When everyone gets sick at her twin sisters wedding, Olive has the chance to go on her sisters honeymoon. The only catch is she has to go with Ethan, the brother of the groom. The two have history and it isn’t great. 

As you’d expect this is a fun hate to love romance that I fell in love with right from the beginning! I laughed out loud so many times and overall I really enjoyed it! I also loved that while this was a romance novel, it did address some deeper topics! 

This was such a fun read and if you like other books by Christina Lauren you won’t want to miss this one!

I absolutely adored this book. “The Unhoneymooners” is one of those rare books that had me actually laughing out loud and unable to put it down. The main characters are so easy to love and I just couldn’t help but root for them. I would love to see their story continued in a sequel. Well done as usual, Christina Lauren!

Olive is the counterpart to her twin Ami in a lot of ways. Where Ami lucks into everything, Olive finds she is always tripping into bad luck. On Ami's wedding day (where she has managed to win tons of free stuff) Olive's luck seems to change, at the expense of the whole wedding party. Through these series of unfortunate events, Olive finds herself taking her sister's honeymoon, but she's not alone. With her is the groom's surly brother Ethan, who has always disliked her and can barely get her name right. 
The two are stuck together for the trip, but that doesn't mean they have to be together all the time. They can just enjoy the free vacation. But so much time together may change things. 
I loved this book. It had a great back and forth and good character development. Olive and Ethan were flawed, funny, and honest characters, easy to root for. I was glad that the author took the time not just to focus on these two main characters, but to illuminate their lives more fully by exploring their families. 
I will say that there were a couple parts the book felt a little too long, but I'd highly recommend this for fans of romantic comedy books, especially if they enjoyed "The Hating Game" by Sally Thorne, or Roomies, by this author.

Fabulous romance! Terrific setting and larger than characters made this a highly enjoyable read.  Will be recommending!

Always hilarious and just a blast to read; I was so looking forward to this new release. If you are a fan of enemies-to-lovers romances, you have to read this book. Hilarious from the get-go, the authors just nail the witty, snarky conversations that make this such a delight to read.

They say there is a fine line between love and hate and in this book, we find that line. Thrown together to help their respective siblings, you can't help but laugh out loud in spots at their uncomfortable situation with each other. 

But hey, they get a free vacation! What could go wrong??? Only so many things!

One of my favorite skills these authors show is the ability to write in such a fashion that you A) cannot stop reading B) fall in love with the characters and C) close the cover with a smile and a big sigh...

Olive and Ethan are a perfect pair and The Unhoneymooners is a highly addictive read loaded with sweet heat, a sexy hottie, funny scenes and conversations that make this story a must-read. A 5 Star story that cannot be missed!

Oh what a fun book this was! I've recently started getting into the contemporary romance genre and have absolutely loved everything I've read by Christina Lauren, so I was so excited I had the opportunity to read this ARC from netgalley. This book didn't disappoint and was devoured it in just two sittings, and left me wishing I was on the beaches of Hawaii with a fruity cocktail. 

Olive Torres sees herself as being the unlucky twin – bad luck just seems to find her. When her twin sister and entire wedding party comes down with a severe case of food poisoning from the seafood buffet, only Olive and her arch nemesis and brother-in-law Ethan are left untouched. Suddenly, Olive and Ethan find themselves taking the free honeymoon as a vacation. However, a holiday in Hawaii doesn’t stop Olive and Ethan from butting heads, but after a series of unforeseen events require the two of them to pretend to be a couple, the pretend feelings might just start to be the real deal. 

I dove into this book the day after I finished "The Hating Game" so I was a little familiar with the enemy to lovers who fall a little in love during a game of paintball, However that did not stop me from enjoying this book. I found Olive's sense of humor refreshing, and I loved seeing the relationship between Olive, her sister and family grow throughout the course of the novel.

As I’ve said in previous reviews, no one writes contemporary romances quite like the amazing duo of Christina Lauren. I read the synopsis once and immediately requested the book and I’m so extremely thankful I was approved. The Unhoneymooners was like reading my own romantic fantasies come to life: hate-to-love romance, fake dating trope, and a dream vacation to Hawaii. 

Everytime I pick up a CLo book, there are a few things I expect to find within the pages: a quirky, relatable heroine, witty banter, scenes that make me laugh out loud (or at least snort unattractively), and a swoon-worthy love interest. And thankfully, The Unhoneymooners checked all those boxes. The only reason I did not give this book five stars, was that it was surprisingly light on the tension/angst, especially considering the plot literally revolves around two characters who hate each other, pretending to be in love. 

The Unhoneymooners is a seriously fun and lighthearted read, perfect for the summer! This book is perfect for fans of The Proposal, The Hating Game, or Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Christina Lauren know how to write contemporary romance and it shows with every book they write.

I have a love-hate relationship with Christina Lauren. I love their books, but I always put off starting a new one because I hate that they will eventually end. I had the same dilemma with The Unhoneymooners. That gorgeous cover was staring at me from my Kindle screen, but I needed to jump right in. So I did. And I was heavily rewarded.

Olive Torres is my spirit animal. I don't think it was possible for me to have loved her more than I did. From the very first thought in her head, I connected to her in a way that doesn't usually happen for me until much later in a story. She was smart and sassy, but it was more than just that. There was a deep venerability to Olive that had me wanting to talk it all out. 

Ethan Thomas was just perfection. Ornery on the outside and a complete teddy bear on the inside. He had his flaws, and there was more than a few times I wanted to smack his face, or at the very least give his shoulders a shake and tell him to wake the heck up! But when everything you think you knew gets flipped upside down, it's understandable to need some time to figure it all out.

I really enjoy a good enemies to lovers story, but too often, the hate isn't true hate. It's just on the surface, and underneath the characters really love each other. That is most definitely not the case in this book. Olive and Ethan hate each other. The kind of hate that festers in your bones and takes such root in your makeup that it will take an act of God to change it. Or, perhaps just forced proximity and a fake relationship can show you what you've been missing all along.

I wanted to shut out the world and lose myself in this story from the moment I read the first page.  If you're looking for feels, this story has all of them. You're going to run through all the usual emotions, and you might even find some you didn't know you had. Christina Lauren have a flawless and seamless prose that floats off the page directly into your soul. My soul is sad that this story is over, but it eagerly anticipates what's to come.

This story was a lot of fun and romantic. I have really come to love and respect these authors and their works. I enjoyed the animosity between Olive and Ethan and loved watching it grow into something more. Their perceptions of each other were a little skewed and their reasons for avoiding each other at first were a little contrived, but when it came to the actual relationship, that's where the writing began to really shine. I felt every argument and wanted to cry at one point during a larger misunderstanding. I will say that I'm proud that olive stuck to her guns and didn't just roll over because a hot guy didn't like what she had to say. Overall, this was a very entertaining story and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read it.

This is an excellent read for anyone who loves enemies to lovers stories and people who enjoy vacation reads. It will make a great beach read this summer. I look forward to more amazing stories from this dynamic duo.

You can't go wrong with a Christina Lauren title. This one was just as fun and jaunty as the others I've read. A good pretending-to-be-partners plot is a durable and time-honored romance trope, and the execution here was great.

Another amazing book from Christina Lauren! I absolutely loved the banter between Ethan and Olive. You know how some playful banter could get annoying? Not with these two. Whenever they were involved, there's a 95% chance of me laughing. I absolutely loved Olive's character because she does not care about what people think about her appearance. Although this book is a rom-com, there's also its fair share of drama to keep the readers on the edge of their seats or wherever they may be reading.

THE UNHONEYMOONERS by Christina Lauren was the first I’ve read by this talented duo and will not be the last.  I loved the characters from the very beginning.  Setting up the twins as polar opposites made for entertaining reading before you even added in the brothers.  I loved the humor and the relationships and the tension and the plot twists.  I couldn’t stop myself from reading this book until 3am because it was so engaging and awesome.
