Due to a passing in the family a few years ago and my subsequent health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for years after the bereavement. Thank you for the opportunity.

Thank you Pen and Sword and Netgalley for this ARC.

This was an informative, interesting read to help find remedies on allergies. I look forward to implementing some and am grateful for having a better understanding of allergies through reading this,

White Owl and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Living with Allergies: Practical Tips for All the Family. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

Author Emma Amoscato has two children with multiple issues with regards to allergies, asthma, allergic rhinitis, and eczema. Living with Allergies is her response to the lack of guidance that she found in helping her navigate the complicated waters of allergies. This book explains allergies, where they come from, and how the immune system responds in those who have a reaction. There are sections such as diagnosis, medications, potential issues with eating out and with school, psychological impact, prevention, and how to live the best life possible with allergies.

Overall, the author makes some interesting tie-ins between skin reactions and other allergic responses. She does touch slightly on the connection between allergies and gastrointestinal problems, but really does not go into as much depth as I was hoping. Living with Allergies is a good guide for parents who are uninformed about allergies and can be used as a way of sparking conversation with a doctor.
