Evie, Grace, and Annalise were never meant to meet but then Paul dies. And everything changes. Each of them has their own view of the man they thought they knew. You might find the basic plot familiar but Hogan does a good job with each the characters and she's a worthy storyteller. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I'm a fan of Faith Hogan and I just knew that I wasn't going to be disappointed with My Husband's Wives.

Paul Starr dies suddenly leaving his wives to piece together exactly what had been going on their lives. Though grief-stricken the women make firm friendships as they realise that they didn't really know Paul at all. What I loved about the book was how empowered the women became as the plot progressed. The author does a wonderful job of telling the women's stories and weaving them together to make a compelling and emotional story.

Each character was unique and came from different backgrounds which made the story interesting and the author continued to develop the characters throughout the the plot. I loved the twists and turns in this gripping family drama.

I loved this story. Set in Ireland we meet Paul and his wives. He is a world famous doctor and dies suddenly in a car crash with a young pregnant woman beside him. The police assume it's his 3rd wife Annalise but it's not. Evie and Grace, his 1st and 2nd wife take charge of funeral arrangement and begin taking care of Kaisa, the girl who survived the accident. How these 4 women and their children cope with life after Paul is narrated throughout the various chapters. So well written and the flow is very easy to follow. The story grabbed me from page one and I couldn't stop reading. Enjoy this one. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Good read but I have mixed feelings. In the first half of the book I was blown away by the author's gift of describing the characters and the scenes...felt like I was there and knew these people and what made them tick. There is a major shift in the plot about half way through the story and that is when it all changed, at least for me. In my perception, it was like someone else had begun writing! In the first half, the depth of it all was incredible but to me, the last half was light fluff and while it had a good ending, the second half just did not have that amazing quality that the first half of the book contained. I hope the author finds her way to stay the course and improve because they show a great deal of promise!

This is a book that is so mesmerizing that you cannot put it down ! I read it cover to cover. I had not read the authors work prior to this book and am utterly taken with her well crafted plot, wonderful characters and richly described story. I highly recommend this book and give it five stars.

Ireland’s leading cardiologist dies in a car crash. The mystery begins when it is found out that three women are left behind, grieving . They were all his wives. As they find out about each other friendship begin to grow among the women as they share their lives with him to each other.

This is a emotionally thrilling read . Each character has empathy even through their grief which builds to friendships albeit however difficult. The outstanding writing is well-crafted building the plot weaving the story around the three women. I loved this book and look forward to the next book by this fine author. Very well done to perfection so I highly recommend this book for your reading enjoyment. Thank you for the ARC . My review is my own personal opinion.

This story was just beautiful and mesmerising! My Husband’s Wives has broken me. We start with three women who are linked all by Paul Starr. We never meet him, only through discussions between the women and through flashbacks, but are these links enough to move past the past?

We spend the first half of the book discovering the secrets Paul kept, and the wives, Evie, Grace and Annalise. Then Kaisa pops up and you are left trying to figure out who she fits in this puzzle, I mean she was in the car when he died (not a spoiler) but who is she?

The second half of the book is how the women all try to move on and deal with their grief and slowly how they learn to interact with each other. The one thing Paul did right, was to die (harsh I know) but because of it, he enriched these four women’s lives so much more by doing so. (Excuse me, something in my eye here).

The bond these women have by the end is something that is unbreakable and beautiful in an otherwise ugly situation. That is not to say there were not some shocks in this book and I found at the beginning of the book in one of Grace’s chapter a really difficult scene to read, it made me feel quite ill and nervous. Because it showed how intoxicating love could truly be and how depression could sink you so low, I think the scenes resonated with me a bit too much and definitely hit home.

Whilst these women are growing and rediscovering themselves and finding a way back to themselves and into a unit, Ms Hogan decides she was a bit bored of that and threw a lot of spice in a pan and set it alight. I began to fear for all the women and how it could impact them, safe to say that is when the tears started to fall, scrap that, they fell A LOT!!

I have never read anything by Ms Hogan, and I was drawn to My Husband’s Wives initially by the cover, as it had the Big little Lies feel to it. Read the blurb and I knew I had to read this book. I started listening to this on audiobook first and the narrator was absolutely fantastic. She voiced each of the four women perfectly, she breathed them to life. I loved each woman individually and collectively. I would love to have this group in my life because they all brought something to the table. I was totally immersed in this book, I just did not want it to end. When it did, through the tears I had a huge smile on my face and a warmth in my heart.

I am definitely recommending this to anyone who will listen to me! It is such a beautiful story of friendships, second chances, love and rediscovering your identity. I will also be picking up anything that Ms Hogan has put her name to!

Evie, Grace and Annalise were all in love with Paul when he was alive. A cardiologist by profession, he was a smooth talker and very handsome. He had relationships with each of the three women. Secrets, lies intrigue and sadness make for a novel which is hard to forget and makes an impression like everything Faith Hogan writes.

Being half-Irish myself, I enjoyed the description of the setting in Dublin and thought it was vividly portrayed as well as a good backdrop to the plot. The title made me download the book and I was also offered a paperback version of the title which I gladly accepted.

The book really touched me and is an excellent novel.

Thanks to Faith Hogan and Aria for my physical and eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review. So pleased to have a slot on the blog tour for the title and I cannot wait for the next Faith Hogan release.

The paperback was beautifully presented with a pink bow tied round it and a postcard with check boxes showing each wife’s personality which was a fun idea as the reader could choose which of the wives they identified with most.

5☆ A Mesmerising story! Unputdownable!

Wow oh wow what a mesmerising story, My Husband's Wives had me enthralled right from the start.

My Husband's Wives is a story full of secrets, little twists, intrigue, sadness, friendship and bonds, it's a story that will get under your skin as you learn about each of the Wives story.

There is no doubt that Paul is a womanizer!
He's charming, smooth talking, attentive, knows how to make a women feel wanted, but what he isn't.... is entirely honest!

Now I don't want to go into detail as this story is such a compelling read I don't want to risk spoiling it.

What I will say is, after Paul's death,
Evie ( Paul's first wife) , Gracie (his second wife) and Annalise ( his third wife) and the mysterious Kasia who none of them knew about, soon become friends after they bond over their love for Paul and their children.
None of the women or their children have ever met before.

What I loved most about this story, was how flawlessly Faith weaved together each of the Wives stories.
We got to see how they came to be with Paul, how he was with each of them, how he changed each of them, how they fitted into each other's life's.
Each of the women are very different, but one thing stands out is how lonely each of them are. It was so Heartwarming to see their friendships blossom.

My Husband's Wives is a beautifully compelling read, full of intrigue, juicy twists and turns and an engrossing storyline that kept me turning the pages.
The Characters are endearing, strong, likeable and wonderfully written.
Faith Hogan is one of my favourite Authors and once again she has weaved her magic, she writes the most mesmerising and
amazing stories.

If you are looking for a totally absorbing read that's beautifully written, then you won't want to miss out on reading My Husband's Wives!

Thank you to Aria Fiction for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I loved this book! Yes, okay, I get that some may find it unbelievable, but you just never know, and most novels of this genre have a certain level of that about them I feel. It was much much better than I had expected, and I love this author so I know she is capable of wonderful things!

Paul Starr is a successful surgeon and I instantly did like him, although I didn't want to — he seems to get everything he wants in life, and that includes every woman he decides to set his sights upon, despite the fact he is, in fact, already married. He does this the first time and we think, okay this could happen, and I loved the story of how him and successful artist Grace get together, and even go on to get married. His ex wife is mentioned on and off but it's not until much later we get to understand just how he was playing both of them. Before tragedy strikes though, things are going sour for Paul at home and he strays again — this time with a well known, high maintenance, much younger model. He has two sons with wife number three, and when he is killed unexpectedly (this is where the book took on a level of not being able to put it down for me!) lots more is revealed about his life and past.

I can highly recommend this book, it was a really nice story of women coming together and being stronger for it. Their relationships are complicated yet so endearing, I found myself willing them to get along. And in the end they did much more than that. A beautiful story of family, loss, friendships and unity.

Paul Starr was the leading cardiac surgeon in Dublin. He was handsome & charismatic. His sudden death in a car crash along with a pregnant young woman who was not his wife sends a shock wave through the woman in his life.

It is just after the crash that Evie, Grace & Annaliese gather together. Evie was Paul's first wife. She was much older than him & when his affair with the celebrated artist, Grace, resulted in a child she let him go. Paul had left Grace when the beautiful Miss Ireland winner Annaliese became pregnant. Evie drops the bombshell that she is still Paul's wife- there was never a divorce! There is also the matter of the young woman n the car with Paul- where does she fit in with this tangled web.

Somehow the women have to arrange a funeral & find a way to live with the fact they did not know Paul as well as they thought they did. In doing so they discover things about themselves & each other that they could not have imagined on the dark day they lost their husband.

At first I wasn't sure about the book but the characters were so interesting & I became totally involved with them. It was a great read. Thanks to netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

Three women, one man, it seems that Paul Starr collects wives like other men collect paintings, although he collects those too. In fact, that’s how he met Grace, the starting point for this story. Their attraction is instant and unsettling, she knows he’s married but is drawn like a moth to the flame, and he seems prepared to give up his former life to share hers. It is not until his untimely demise that Grace realises Paul kept secrets from everyone. Grace is running from commitment, from the drudgery of her early life and mostly from herself.

Evie always felt he loved her best despite Grace, but when he dies unexpectedly, she finds out Grace is not the only one. Evie’s story is sad, always living in someone’s shadow, never realising her full potential and now she feels she never will.

Annalise met Paul when she was at an all-time low, he offered her a way of saving face, but somewhere along the way she lost herself. When he died she clings on to her widowhood like a safety net, but maybe falling is better than remaining on the precipice?

Paul is like a child, he wants new toys but doesn’t want to give up his old ones. Unfortunately, his toys are women and their lives are blighted by his treatment. Paul’s lack of awareness is an overriding theme in this story, his character is badly flawed, but despite his controlling and faithless characteristics, as the story progresses, in death he does offer each of his women a precious lifeline.

This story is an excellent family drama and each of the main female characters becomes stronger, it is an empowering book to read. The plot is interesting and whilst the theme is not unusual, it is handled in a unique way and the characters are beautifully written, realistic, flawed, but strong enough to realise they have to accept help from unlikely sources, evolve and most of all forgive – Paul, the other women in his life and most of all themselves.

Lies and secrets are at the heart of this story, but it is courage and transparency that makes it an enjoyable read. Many contemporary issues and attitudes are explored sensitively, and there is a mystery to solve that keeps you guessing. Its resolution ties up the story perfectly.

The relationship that develops between the women is what resonates most in this story, the imagery is vivid, the dialogue realistic, and the plot perfectly paced. This would make a great film.

I received a copy of this book from Head of Zeus Books via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I'll admit - I love anything multiple - wives, children, whatever.  When I saw the title of today's book available on NetGalley for review - My Husband's Wives by Faith Hogan - I knew I just needed to read it. I was happy when I was approved!

So the story goes...... When renowned surgeon, Paul Starr is killed in a car accident in Dublin, he is found to leave behind not one, but three grieving widows.  His passenger is a young pregnant woman who survives but is not known by any of Paul's widows. Each wife arrives at the hospital without any real knowledge of the existence of the other wives.

Through this story, the individual stories of Grace, Evie and Annalise are shared as each of these women say goodbye to the man they each loved.  Then, each woman is further surprised to learn the existence of another young female, a pregnant, Kasia, who was in the car at the time of the accident. The funeral arrangements begin their future connection.

By the end of My Husband’s Wives, I began to feel a fondness toward each of these main characters. As the story traveled from character to character, I loved seeing their insight into their lives. As we moved from character to character throughout the book, I could also see whose voice was speaking and which character we were with thanks to each of the characters being so well written.

My Husbands Wives is a compelling read as wives and lovers come together. It's a soul-searching and heart-breaking story of a likable guy who is also a polygamist.  One of the characters in the book summed it up best by saying the best part of Paul Starr was what he left behind.

I received an advanced readers digital copy of this book from Aria Fiction through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to provide a positive review.

Great read. The author wrote a story that was interesting and moved at a pace that kept me engaged. The characters were easy to invest in.

My Husband's Wives is a story about four women drawn together by one man, Paul. Paul is a renowned surgeon who is loved by everyone he meets. Perhaps that is part of his problem - the need to feel loved and to always help others. At what point, however, can that be taken too far?

Faith Hogan establishes a realistic relationship between four women in a close to impossible situation. The bond they end up creating is endearing, like a family which all the women really need in their lives. The one missing piece for me in this book is that Paul's character isn't developed as much I would have hoped. I have some unanswered questions about his motives and what led him to do what he did to these women. However, the focus of the book was on the women and their relationship and not on his character.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it. Thank you NetGalley for the arc of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

One husband, multiple wives that are thrown together at the death of Paul, a famous cardiologist.....

Great read about women coming together.

I love a good scandal/betrayal story and was expecting some revenge-esque story-line. I was, however, presently surprised at how genuine and heartfelt this read turned out to be.

It was interesting to read the affect Paul's death had on these women as they learnt to cope with grieving for a man they loved but did not know and it was even more pleasant to witness the ladies grow and form a beautiful bond from such a painful experience.

A really enjoyable, well-rounded read that proves even the worst circumstances can bring about something beautiful.
