I always look forward to a new book from Keris, she's one author you can always count on for a laugh and a swoon.

The One Who's Not The One is just brilliant! Cat is a wonderful character, as is her bestie Kelly (and Arnold!). I love the dynamic they all have and they made me laugh SO much! To be honest, Cat and Arnold were probably my favourite relationship in the whole book! Adorable and so funny. Harvey, well, swoon! And Nick... Well, you just need to read the book for yourself... I ain't telling you anymore!

I like how Cat is a bit insecure and self-doubting, she's real and relatable. So many people will be, or have been, where she is and will constantly wonder what they're doing with their life or if they should want more. But Cat is also brave, with Kelly's encouragement. She isn't fearless by any means, but she will make a leap if she needs to. I admire that.

I missed my bestie, Kelly (back in Canada) while reading this. I also wish I had an Arnold. I laughed. A lot. I swooned, I had a little cry. Then I laughed some more. 9.5/10

Keris has me howling with laughter, whether in her books or on social media. She's so funny and sweet!

This book was an absolute scream....I was howling from start to finish and couldn't put it down. I don't think I've loved a leading lady as much as I love Cat. Her sense of humour and tenacity were a hit that left me giggling into the pages of my Kindle and working out how we could actually become friends in an alternative lifetime. I mean what a girl - she was off the wall in an endearing way with just the right amount of batty behaviour and zealous for life. You couldn't help but love her and her wacky ways.

The story, as a whole, is relatively short and one you could actually devour in one sitting and believe me you will not want to put it down. The plot is punchy with a vibrant energy that keeps you wanting to turn the page and read on. This is my first Keris Staunton book and it most certainly won't be my last that's for sure. Her writing style has ensured that she has been added to my list of 'must read' authors and I will be seeking out past books asap.

The One Who's Not the One is an all out laugh-fest that will leave you holding your sides in mercy. I think you can safely say that I wholeheartedly loved it and would like everyone to download their copy today and dive right in. This is a book that is not to be missed.

Have you ever sat and pondered how bees mate? I can't say that it's something I say and googled whilst drinking my brew, however I will hold my hands up and say that, after reading 'The One Who's Not the One', I unashamedly Googled a bees balls. I'm not even joking, and no, I won't tell you why I did that, but if you read this book it will all make perfect sense!

OMG the sounds that were coming out of my mouth were very questionable - I could NOT stop laughing!!! Cat has got to be THE most funniest character I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Her one liners are absolutely brilliant, and the way that she always has something funny to say about every situation had me channeling my inner seal and pig mating. As you do, obviously!

Now, there is a young lad in the story who is, even at the young age he is, a dude you want to have as your best friend like right now. Plus, with a name like 'Arnold', I couldn't help but picture the popular namesake from the TV show, 'Hey Arnold'. You're welcome...

Cat's relationship with her best friend is one of a kind and made for excellent reading. However, don't hate me when I say this but geez there were times where I just wanted to shake Cat and tell her to stop being so selfish! I mean, not everything is about her and yet she seemed to make most situations into the 'Cat Show'. I did like her, don't get me wrong, I just wished that she would change the record more often!

'The One Who's Not the One' is such a charismatic, energetic, addictive and utterly hilarious read which left my sides needing sewing and my brain thinking 'whaaaaa?!' (In a good way, obvs). I absolutely loved this book and, like Keris Stainton's previous books, this author has knocked it out of the park once again in more ways than one.

Full of witty anecdotes, brilliant friendships, budding romances, and of course the knowledge of bees, 'The One Who's Not the One' is definitely The One for me.

This is a cute, quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I could've read it in one sitting if I'd have had the time, because it's a page turner. I didn't want to put it down and with the author would write another book to continue Cat and Harvey's story. Super fun read!

Dive into the Cat's funny, messy life and enjoy it more when Harvey, her ex's brother drops in the mix to stir with her head and heart. She manages to come across as fully relatable and you can't help but want to hang out with her. A hilarious look at what happens when your days are filled with most things out of your control and the unexpected temptation that could just be what you never knew you needed.

In this book we meet Cat. Her last boyfriend, Sam left her and went to Australia, leaving her flat sharing with the housemates from hell. One day, she bumps into Sam’s brother Harvey who drops the bombshell that Sam is back! Harvey is completely off limits being Sam’s brother, but Cat can’t help but be attracted to him. Can she resist Harvey and how will she feel now Sam is back!

I’ve loved this author’s previous books and was excited to see this new release by her. The book is a fabulous feel good read with plenty of love and laughter. I loved Cat’s character and really connected with her. Life is pretty rubbish at the moment for her and this certainly makes you wish you were friends with her to give her a much needed hug! If we are talking about being friends with people, can I also ask to be friends with Cat’s best friend, Kelly as she is just fantastic!!!

As a stand-up comedienne, Cat’s character was so funny! It wasn’t only Cat’s humour though which had me chuckling all the way through the book but the author’s fabulously witty writing which I’ve come to expect from her! When Harvey reappears unexpectedly into Cat’s life you could tell that there was a definite spark between them! Cat and Harvey’s “will they, won’t they” relationship was wonderful and they would make the perfect couple if Cat stopped seeing him as the ex’s brother!

The writing in this book was spot on and as you read it you can put yourself in Cat’s shoes, as surely we’ve all been where Cat is in life at some point! The story is not only belly-laughingly funny (the scene when Cat and Arnold visit a department store’s Santa springs to mind!!) but there is also a warm and touching story running alongside teaching us the important lessons of forgiving, forgetting and learning to love again.

This book made me in tears, both happy and sad ones in equal doses! It had me hooked from the first page and it certainly had me laughing out loud unashamedly! The story flowed so well, the characters were all so realistic and likeable and it was a lovely, funny and heart-warming read. Perfect for all you romantics out there – and if you’re not one of them, perhaps this book will convert you!! Highly recommended!

Thank you to the author, the Publisher Bookouture and NetGalley for this review copy.

Really entertaining read, but emotional at times.

Cat's ex left her 5 years ago and went to Australia, not inviting her to go too. Now he is back in London, and she sneaks in to see his stand-up show. Whilst there she see's his brother, and this is the first of a number of meetings. She is attracted to him, but he is her ex's brother so what will she do?
Alongside this, is the complicated relationship she has with her father, and how this has affected her life and behaviour since he left her too..

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a voluntary and honest review.

I recieved this book via Netgalley and give it my honest review.
A gorgeously written and feel good book, funny and full of romance, uplifting and in some parts laugh out loud story. The characters were a pleasure to read about and you really get attached to them. From cover to covervi enjoyed every bit of this book.

I really enjoyed this story, my first by this author.

Cat's life is in a holding pattern, and has been since her boyfriend left her to make it big in Australia five years ago. Same job that bores her, living with a flatmate (and boyfriend) who is a slob and inconsiderate, and following the same routine day in and day out, week after week. She admires her best friend's life (handsome, supportive, loving husband and adorable son, plus a rousing blogger business) and wishes she could have the same. But knowing that everyone leaves eventually (first her dad, then her ex) Cat is reluctant to put herself out there; why bother when it's all going to end in heartache?

Every one of us can relate to Cat. Sometimes we look around for an adult, only to realise we're it. How did we get here? What happened to our dreams? Where is our happily ever after? Each one of us has to decide if we're going to step out of our comfort zones and grow up. Or at least learn to fake it better.

Stainton's writing is clever, and moving. Her characters are fun and smart. The situations and growth that Cat experiences made me cheer for her, and hope that we can all live our best life. Bonus points for writing a child character without pandering to stereotypes. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever loved and lost, and lived to love again. And anyone who just likes a rousing good story in general.

I really enjoyed this book. It was different from what I’ve been reading lately, so it’s stood out in my head. The characters and their development were outstanding. The story painted a clear picture and the writing was well done. Would recommend.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with a copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review. This book was ok, a bit dull at times. I didn't care for the MC much, or the love aspect of the story.

It was a struggle to even finish this story. When a character has relationships with both brothers, it always feels a bit odd to me. Couldn't really get in to this story.

I love Keris. Her way of writing contemporary romantic fiction is so refreshing. She creates heroines who, despite their problems are not helpless or hopeless or waiting for the right man to fix them, and even when the right man does come along, they still have to get off their backsides and fix themselves. She gives them interesting, real lives that are relatable and I love the fact that even when they are sometimes offered the 'magic wand' type of ending, they don't always take it. This is funny, sharp and enjoyable. A great, easy read, and I mean that in an entirely positive way.

Cat is a very entertaining character to read about. Harvey was my favorite character. You can see many moments filled with fleeting thoughts that show you just how easy it is to want to be somewhere else before that time needs to actually come. It was time to just sit and read a book full of what appeared to be bad times gone better and better as Cat sees things aren't always as we think. Sometimes we need to trust we are where we need to be.

I gave an honest review of this novel in exchange for a copy of it. It was 5 stars!

The One Who's Not the One by Keris Stainton is a lovely charming contemporary love story.

It's been five years since Cat's boyfriend Sam, fellow stand up comedian has left her and gone to Australia. She is still doing the job she doesn't like, she is still single, still avoids her father who abandoned her years ago and hangs out with her best friend.
Until one day Sam is back. He is performing and Cat just knows that the gig is about her. She simply has to see it. While there she sees Sam's brother Harvey and things begin to happen...

Charming and funny, it immensely entertaining. I particularly liked stand up comedy repertoire. Cat and her best friend's Kelly's relationship is fabulous. It is so important to have someone who loves you unconditionally in your corner.
Sweet and lovable characters, yet so real and down to earth.
Romantic moments are fantastic. There is such an attraction between Cat and Harvey that it can be felt.
Well told story without unnecessary details and quite honestly a page turner. It's absorbing and highly entertaining.

Really enjoyed this one!

New-to-me author Keris Stainton has a delightful writing vibe. I felt the a similar smile on my reading face as when I first read L. H. Cosway and her everyday British-girl stories.

I know that this one is tagged as a Romance, and, yes, there is certainly romance, but for me two things stood out: Cat's personal growth and value of friendship between her and Kelly.

"Will you come with me?"
Kelly groaned. 'Oh god. I suppose so.'
"This is why you're my best friend."
'I know,' Kelly said. 'It's a nightmare.'

I loved these two! #sistersister So I'm marking this on my list as Womens Literature with a side of romance ;)

For me, their "womance" was heartwarming. Her relationship with Arnold was childishly delicious. Heartbreaking to watch her sort out her feelings for Sam and Harvey. And her inner realizations that it was time to move forward and find her "happy"kept me reading straight thru till she seized it by the cahonas!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my very own. I recommend it to anyone who wants to smile the whole time they are reading!

I received The One Who's Not the One by Keris Stainton as an ARC from NetGalley. The One Who's Not The One is a funny romantic comedy about Cat who gave up her stand up comedy career after her boyfriend dumped her, The story follows Cat's adventures with an unlikely love affair and trying to figure out what she should do with her life, This was the first book I've read by Keris Stainton but I plan on reading her other books,

This was a cute little book. Although it is a romantic comedy, I liked the relationship between Cat, the main character, and her best friend, Kelly, the best. The moments between Cat and Kelly’s son,Arnold, were wonderful too. It was an easy afternoon read and I was happy to have received a chance to read and review this advanced copy.

Poor Cat! She's had a run of bad luck over the last couple of years. Not the sort of really horrible luck but her boyfriend ditched her, she's living with room mates at an age when she's totally over that, and her career has tanked. Worst of all, her ex is back from Australia and it looks like he's doing well as a standup even as she's joined the cubicle crew. What she didn't expect was that her ex/s brother Harvey would turn up and turn out to maybe be the right one for her. Let's all note in advance that the conclusion is foregone but Stainton has written some nice characters and the plot has enough twists (and laughs) to keep even the most jaded among us reading. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. For rom-com fans!
