This is a story of 2 women both of whom hold secrets and have a connection. We meet them at the scene of a hit and run and thereafter delve into their lives as they get to know one another. And I won't say much more to avoid spoilers. 

This was a more assured book from Ms Patis. I feel that she is more confident in her writing and has hit the ground running with this. She once again deftly tackles some weighty issues, domestic violence, rape, abortion but with sensitivity and a sense of hope at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it is the very definition of page turner given that I finished it in one day.

Gripping....I could not stop reading this. At all points you want to know why! The friendship which develops between Isla and Beth is so well portrayed. I was all ready to give this 5 stars but I was slightly disappointed by the ending which was over oh so rapidly.

I absolutely loved The Girl Across the Street! I was gripped and couldn't put it down until I knew how it ended. Characters are believable and although sad situations are realistic. I'll admit when I read the synopsis for this I wasn't completely sold but this is a marvellous story and I highly recommend it. 5/5.

A fantastic read with well put together characters and a fantastic ending! I loved this book, once you start reading it, you won't be able to put it down.

A very enjoyable read. I think what I enjoyed the most is it is so creedible, these people exist  and hide in our everyday lives, they could be your neighbor, your co-worker or your sibling. There are monsters in our midst, and unless like one of our main characters, you reach out a hand and a heart filled with compassion, you would never know.

As time passes, we look closely into the lives of both Beth and Isla. Many problems develop with Jake, Isla's husband, and his godawful mother. Isla is feeling as if she has no choice but to stay with Jake. Beth MAY just have a way to help (or not) Isla out of her downtrodden life...

This book was riveting and unputdownable! It was dark and twisted. With twists and turns you won’t see coming. I loved it.

Absolutely brilliant, loved everything about this book and got involved with all the characters from the very beginning.

An exciting and gripping page turner, well written and can recommend this to anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers.  After reading Vikki's first book The Diary I didn't think she could better that one but she has absolutely smashed it with this new book.  Well done Vikki and I eagerly await your next masterpiece.

This was a really good read and I really enjoyed it . We meet Isla and Beth who meet whilst trying to save the life of a jogger who has been run over whilst jogging at night . They strike up an unusual friendship but we understand that Beth has some ulterior motives in befriending Isla . She is jealous of Islas charmed life but Beth soon realizes that it is anything but ... She starts to have a real affection for Isla and it s returned . as a real friendship starts to take hold but will the truth come out and why does Islas husband dislike Beth so much  A great read with a satisfying conclusion . 5 stars from me

This book was utterly compulsive reading! The characters really get under your skin as the story develops. There are those to love, and those who are just pure evil!  Isla and Beth, newly found friends who come together after witnessing a tragedy, were so well thought out with good back stories to explain how they'd come to be in their present situations. I really liked them both. A tense undercurrent runs throughout as you wait to find out just how all the threads of the story will come together, and when they do...phew...what an ending! A great read and one I'd highly recommend!

OMG! I was addicted to this book from page 1, Line 1. I really enjoyed that the author built the characters so that I got to know them and regardless if I hated some of them or not, they were brought to life through words. 
I felt so much emotion for Isla. I wanted to sit in her garden with her and share that bottle of wine and a cigarette with her. When she was hurt, I wanted to hug her. 

This is one amazing psychological thriller and I give it 5 stars across the board.

This is the first book I have read from Vikki Patis and it won't be my last. it is a fast paced psychological thriller which had me hooked right from the start. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book, it grabbed me from the start and I raced through it wanting to know what was going to happen next. I would definitely recommend it.

Beth and Isla are two fascinating characters and I really could not stand Jake.
The dynamic between Isla and Beth was very well executed and I felt it was easy to fall into this story and relate to the characters.
I would recommend this book if you like domestic thrillers!

A great read with a twist i didn't see coming! Loved this book, first from this author for me but wont be the last.

The viewpoint switched from Beth to Isla so it showed both sides of the story and it all came together great in the end. The end is very open so hopefully there’s a sequel!

The Girl Across the Street by Vikki Patis is a psychological thriller that will have readers riveted from the start.  I was immediately captivated by the prologue, and could not turn the pages fast enough.

The novel is told in the alternating perspectives of Isla and Beth, two women who come together in the aftermath of a shocking hit and run accident.  Following this shared traumatic experience, Beth reaches out to Isla, seemingly with a view to establishing friendship.  Isla herself is trapped in an abusive marriage with the immediately unlikeable Jake, and is initially wary of Beth's motives.  Although the women live only across the street from each other, their lives are worlds apart.  Or do they share more commonalities than they think?

Compulsively readable, I could not put this one down, as the tension continued to mount until the final explosive reveal  I will seek out this author in future.

This is the first book that I have read by Vikki Patis, and by far the best out of the 9 books I have read so far already in 2019!! 

This is Physcological Thriller mixed with a bit of women's fiction and I could totally relate to the book within the first few chapters!.
I loved the writing style, everything was very now as apposed to the trends of 2018/2019. It touched on subjects in which everyone currently obsesses with! I loved the two different worlds that turn out to be not so far apart!. 
I totally loved the 2 main chatacters - Isla & Beth- to the point where i wanted to be their friend!, I was completely gripped with the storyline, it was easy and exciting to read, it will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, and come the end I wasn't ready to finish up, like a good series you want it to continue!! Please write a second story leading on from this!!! I loved it and would fully recommend it to anyone that loves a good Physcological Thriller and this time to anyone that also loves a good Women's Fiction!
