Unfortunately i couldn't finish this book. I found the story confusing and there were too many characters with not enough time spent invested in who they were. The story jumped from character to character without warning and i found it cliched and hurried. |
A gripping read from start to finish. A shocking rape and murder of a young girl, Sophie, 20 years previously committed by two young boys certainly grabbed my attention. Set in Scotland, fast forward to present day and a young girl has gone missing. . DI Jessie Blake is in charge of the investigation, a great character, who I can't wait to read more about.. Several characters were weaved into this intriguing plot which provided a whole host of suspects. A great read with lies, secrets, deceit betrayals and loss. Can't wait for the next in series. |
murders, mystery and so many secrets to uncover. This was a book that had me shocked and wondering why as I read this story. The characters were interesting and so very intense. This was a great start to a new series. I am ready to read the next one.Thank you NnetGalley for allowing me to read this book. |
This is a difficult book for me to review as I didn’t really enjoy so much, if felt very over complicated and I did find my attention wandering at times. The writing wasn’t bad but it seemed that there was far too many characters making it times a bit hard to follow and although I like my thrillers to keep me guessing this was a bit too much. Overall perhaps this just wasn’t a book for me but others may enjoy it more. A quick read and worthy of 3 stars. My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. |
Unbelievably good crime novel set in central Perthshire. The small town feel almost smothers you as you get to grips with the community life in such a small town. Shannon goes missing and the impact ripples through the lives of her family, friends an£ the wider community. Once the police arrive all sorts of secrets and past histories start to unravel and nobody is left unscarred. I hope that Jessie returns and that Perthshire continues to play a role in the books. |

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this arc. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was absolutely hooked from page one. I had to really focus in the beginning to grasp who was who. But I rushed back to it every time I had to put it down. An ending you won't see coming. I definitely recommend it. |

I reading this book but found that I just couldn’t get into it and gave up after 20%. There were so many characters all muddled together and I had no idea what was going on! |
