I am a big fan of Tilly Tennant so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book, and it didn't disappoint! This is the ultimate feel good romance book. It's all about a woman who is determined to restore the windmill after her father's death. Throughout the book you are treated to the blossoming romance between Lizzie and Jude. Perfect read for the summer days!

What a great story, I got really involved in the rebuilding of the windmill and the family dynamics. The description of the countryside around the windmill was so realistic I could picture the hedgerows and smell the wild flowers

When Lizzies dad dies she remembers the outings she had with him and how they would pass the old derelict windmill on Magnolia Lane. The windmill was very special,to,her dad and that's why Lizzie decides to buy it and renovate it. She is constantly juggling her finances to get it back into full working order - will the money run out before she can complete the rebuild.

She is one of three children, her brother and sister both live and work in London. When her sisters relationship breaks down she moves into the caravan with Lizzie, which is a bit of a struggle at first because the sisters have never had an easy relationship. Their mother is still hurt that her husband divorced her and married someone else plus one of the sisters sees her as the wicked stepmother.

Lizzie becomes fond of Jude who lives with his brother, Charlie. I loved the way Charlie was portrayed and how involved in his life the sisters became. But There are factors in Jude's life that make a relationship with Lizzie very difficult and she has to decide whether she can accept these difficulties and move the relationship forward.

A definite holiday read..

tl: dr: A woman finds love and surprises in the aftermath of her father's death.

Lizzie's father dies. She is the daughter of his first wife. There is baggage there, as expected. To add insult to injury, Lizzie's had her own sorts of self-doubt before her father's untimely demise. She makes a huge life-change deciding to renovate a gorgeous, derelict mill. This gentle book is really about a woman renovating herself as she works on the building (sort of in the vein of A Year in Provence or Under the Tuscan Sun). Like those other books, this one does a great job of transporting readers to a magical space. Lizzie does get a happy ending as well. Great vacation read for someone who is looking for good writing and love.
