First, a humble apology- I reviewed this book on Goodreads right after I read it and didn’t post here! Did you love “The Other Woman” by Sandie Jones? This one was even better!! I was provided an advanced copy of this book in return for a review and spreading the word! I didn’t want to put this book down. Told from two different sides of the story, it keeps you guessing til the end with some amazing plot twists. I didn’t anticipate reading Beth’s story in the second part of the book and was kind of anxious to be over with, but in the third section of the book I realized that Beth’s story was integral for the end of the book to make sense. Sandie Jones has blown me away twice and I think I will definitely be reading every books she writes!

I requested this one because I loved the author's first book, The Other Woman. When I started reading this one though it didn't hook me like her first book, so I did not finish it. Thank you for the opportunity.

Wow!!! This book is everything!!! Great storyline, great writing. The book flows so smoothly building up to the ending that will blow you away. Highly recommended. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my review.

Thank you NetGalley and publishers for an ARC.

If you loved The Other Woman, this is the perfect fit. Jones does an incredible job with character development and narrating different POVs well! I loved this storyline and the suspense it brought as well.

I tend to be a guesser when it comes to Suspense/Thriller novels. I'm always looking for clues and really get engulfed in the storyline. Although with The First Mistake, I found myself more taking sides of the story and feeling invested in the characters as well.

Jones is an incredible author and this is the perfect rainy day read or summer time suspense!

This book was everything I needed right now.

A twisty quick read that sucked me in during the first chapter. I really enjoyed the story! Even when I thought I had predicted the twist, one I didn’t see coming came and got me in the end!

I would suggest this book.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Jones; writing style is spot on and takes you on a woman's journey that ends with a bang.

What an amazing story, full of twists and turns. I thought I knew what was going on and then there I was, confused again. I didn't know what was the truth and what was a lie. All of the characters in this dramatic tale were ones that I both loved and hated simultaneously. I wasn't sure who my sympathies should be with.

This is probably one of the best psychological thrillers that I have read this year, and honestly I have read quite a few. This one will keep you guessing to the very end and have you shaking your head that that ending.

The First Mistake is a suspenseful story with a couple decent twists.

Trust is a tricky thing when it comes to love and friendship. Alice doesn’t know if she can trust her love with her first husband Tom, her current husband Nathan, or her friendship with Beth. While i saw the major twist from the beginning, there were a few others turns in the book that i didn’t expect. A quick and good read on a rainy day.

Thanks to NetGalley and St Martins Press for the arc.

Really loved this twisty tale! Just when I thought I knew where it was going.... Bam! Another direction. Was such a fun read!

I liked The Other Woman and I think I liked this one even better! I am really looking forward to more from this author!

Trust is a tricky thing, especially when it is misplaced, lost, damaged or ruined...

Alice believes she has it all. After the death of her first husband, she has found love again, has a best friend and healthy children. But when her husband, Nathan begins acting strangely, Alice confides in her best friend, Beth, but is that the best idea?

Secrets, lies, betrayal, doubt, anger, deceit, where will it end and how/why did it begin?

This was a fast read full of twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out; Jones has another reveal waiting in the wings. This alone had me turning (or swiping) the pages as fast as I could. I found this book to be compelling, twisted, and thoroughly entertaining.

Thank you to St. Martins Press and NetGalley.

Sandie Jones is a goddess, and I will always be down to read anything she writes! In my opinion, this one was much better than The Other Mrs, though I did enjoy that one as well. Well written, and full of twists and turns. Who can you trust?

Thank you to NetGalley, as well as the publisher for providing me with a digital copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.

Alice lost her first husband Tom, 10 years ago. Her daughter and her stuck together and eventually moved on. Alice is happily remarried to Nathan and has a second daughter with her new husband. She's happy. Until Nathan starts to act suspicious. What is he up too? With her friend Beth's encouragement, Alice decides to find out what is going on with Nathan.

This book wasI fun and attention grabbing, you'll want to keep flipping the pages and find out the mystery. It just wasn't my favourite from this author. It's light and entertaining but it isn't anything special. I recommend this if you want a quick read. Just don't expect anything new from it!

I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and had many twists and turns, some twists I thought I had figured out, and actually was wrong on all of them. I think this book is definitely worth a read. The ending has me a bit baffled but all in all I thought it was a great read and would recommend it to my friends. I will now have to pick up some more books by this Author.

The First Mistake by Sandie Jones is an excellent suspense novel that is full of intrigue and mystery. The main character, Alice, runs a design company which she works at with her second husband. Her first husband was tragically lost in the mountains during a skiing trip with friends. Alice has never really recovered from the loss of her first husband. She had to spend some time in a mental health facility in order to recover from this tragic loss. Alice has two daughters. She also has a best friend, Beth, who is a single mother. As the story is told Alice’s second husband is accused by Alice of having an affair. This is an accusation that the husband vehemently denies. The running of the design company , a possible investment in Japan, the discussion of trying to find Beth’s daughter’s father, and the consequences of deception all work together to produce a very fast and interesting novel. Read it and enjoy! I would like to thank netgalley, Sandie Jones, St.Martin’s Publishing, and Minotaur Books for allowing me to read this novel in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Okay, this is a terrific read. I’ve been trying to review it without giving anything away. Not easy so will just write this. It’s a well crafted, well written story with many twists and turns along the way. Creepy, smart, shocking, emotionally devastating. The kind of story that makes you question everything. So often many of is figure out who did what and to whom. This is not that book. Trust no one, believe nothing and be prepared to finish in no more than 2 sittings! You will not want to walk away until you get to the end to find out who did what. Enjoy this read and keep a light on when doing so. And always remember, be very careful who you let into your life.
