I've never read Dana Mason's books before Accidental Groom, but I'm a fan now! I love this genre and she nailed every single aspect that I love about this type of romantic comedy -- chemistry between Mac and Kelley from the first page; a little bit of angst; a whole lot of steam; and all the "feels" that make this a winner for me! I enjoyed how their interaction and banter with each other was written--the storyline had an effortless, easy flow. I became invested in Mac and Kelley's characters immediately which is a sign of an excellent read! I'll definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author in the future. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley. |

Mac wakes up most of the early morning commuters in Sacramento. Women fantasize about him. Kelley rides light rail and never heard of him. But, he has seen her and her mesmerizing green eyes flowing with tears and he can’t get her out of his mind. Accidental Groom is the story of Mac and Kelley, two strangers meeting in a Starbucks who end up married in Reno the next day. He’s a commitment phobe and a known womanizer. She’s couch-surfing among friends because her ex is doing her bff in their apartment. Two disasters waiting to happen. Together. This book has got it all. Drama, angst, a real, honest love story. Once you start to it, you will not want to put it down to the last page. Dana Mason writes a darn good book! |

I really enjoyed this book, the story had a nice flow to it . Dana made you want to see what would happen between Mac and Kelley. This book had some humor, lots of sizzle and some deep emotion. It was a great story and I want to thank Dana and netgalley for the chance to read this advanced copy |

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I found it to be really enjoyable. There was so much chemistry between Mac and Kelley. They both decide on a fun no strings weekend together but somehow they end up accidently married. Dana Mason does a really good job telling their story. It was so much fun to read. The characters were really well developed and I loved the interaction that the main characters had together but also had with side characters. I cannot wait to see who gets to be the focus of the second book. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review. |

Accidental Groom tells the story of radio personality, Mac and kinesiology and dance student, Kelley. Mac had seen Kelley’s distress the day she broke up with her boyfriend and at his next opportunity introduces himself and before the day is over he invites her to attend a function in Reno, where several things happen...one of which is waking up married. I usually enjoy this trope, but just couldn’t buy into the instant attraction between these two as written. The author has a good command of English and grammar, but the continuing story failed to engage my interest to the point that the story became more important than the other things going on in my life. These two have conflicts to overcome (no spoilers) but this reader really didn’t care because I never could relate to the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. |
This was a romance with a little drama, a little heart, and a whole lot of sexy. I love when a character makes up their mind and sticks to it! Mac is the difference between an asshole and a guy just having fun. Even when you’re just having fun your actions still impact others, and he seems to recognize this, but his on-air persona is another story. It’s really enjoyable getting to know him throughout the book. Kelley has dealt with so much and it’s interesting to see her on this journey towards her goals despite all of the barriers and set backs. I can see some of the situations in this book are problematic, but overall I think this is an enjoyable romance read. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. |
I really enjoyed this story! It was very well written and the characters worked very well together and I really enjoyed their interaction. I thought that the book had a lovely flow to it and I read the book in a few hours as I was completely engrossed in the story. Five stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!! |

Kelley and Mac are two people who have been working through their issues for years. She's a late-start student trying to finish her degree and he's a famous, morning radio personality with a reputation with the ladies. They meet at a Starbucks and, after only a few hours, they're driving to Reno together to a comedy event that Mac is hosting. After a night out drinking and partying, they wake up married. Sometimes, what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay there. Back home, they now have to deal with his radio personality, their marriage, her ex-boyfriend and ex-bff and his sister. They both have a lot of baggage that they've been dealing with and are just trying to figure out how their new marital status fits in with their everyday lives. I liked Mac and Kelley for the most part. The book dealt with some serious topics without being preachy. The bff/boyfriend parts were a little cliche and Mac's sister was a little over the top. I would read the next story in the series by Ms Mason. |
3 1/2 Star review..... Accidental Groom is my first read by Dana Mason and I must admit I was expecting something light and humorous, but the story had some deep and confrontational moments which showcased the authors ability to mix it up. I enjoyed the plot, the world building was believable, and the characters kept my interest throughout the entire story. I look forward to reading more from Ms Mason. |
My name is Kelley and this week has been crap. Today is my birthday and also the worst day of my life. Several years ago on this day, I was in a horrific car accident that killed the love of my life and left me in a hospital for weeks. Then to make matters worse, I just caught my ex-boyfriend, mind you he’s only been my ex for a day, screwing my roommate. I don’t have the funds to get another apartment so I’ll have to couch surf until I can figure something out. If you live in Sacramento and you’re listening to the radio in the morning on your way to work or school, most likely you’re listening to me, Mac. I’ve been doing this gig for five years and I’m portrayed as the sexy bachelor that is a serial dater with no intention of ever settling down, in other words, a manwhore. Making a pit stop at my favorite coffee shop I noticed a beautiful woman crying her eyes out sitting on a bench. Not sure why she’s drawn my attention, but there it is. Sure by the time I decide to speak to her, she’s gone. However, the next time I stop by, I spot her sitting by herself and decide to talk to her. It seems we have great chemistry when one thing leads to another, and a few hours later, we’re driving to Reno where I’m attending a Comedy festival. Kelley makes me feel free and joyful, something no other woman has been able to do. Everything is going great, until the next morning. It seems after a drunken night of partying, we got married! WTH! One thing is certain, we need to get this annulled. Get ready for a roller coaster of emotions in this book. It will keep you on your toes the whole way thru, plus it is one hot ride. |

I really enjoyed this story. The real Mac came thru loud and clear and with Kelly, what a pair. The best things happen when least expected. |
3.75 Stars. Accidental Marriage trope - who doesn't love those? Morning radio show host Makensey Thomas, has a reputation of being a playboy, leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake. The man who has never been tempted to be attached to a woman, cannot help but be drawn to the green-eyed beauty he sees crying outside of a coffee shop. I loved his character, he was swoon-worthy majority of the time but also sweet and vulnerable. Accidental Groom is told in Dual-POV, it was perfect to be able to see how his thoughts played out and so many sides to his character. Sac State student Kelley Kontos, is probably the only single woman in Sacramento that doesn't lust after Mac from the Mimi and Mac morning show. Could help that she also doesn't have a clue to who he is, nor his publicly made past. Kelley was just one of those characters you want to reach into the book a hug. She has had so much crap thrown at her and she's still standing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, it was low-drama and flowed well for a story that took place in such a short amount of time. I enjoyed this fun and flirty read from Dana Mason, although my first from her - it most definitely won't be the last. (There is one secondary character I really hope get her own book) |

Mac is a great looking guy with a sexy voice working as a morning radio show host with a big following. Kelly, trying to finish school while working all the hours she can, has had more pain than fun in her life. Both are dealing with some serious baggage. I really enjoyed the first half of their story but suddenly it just started to drag and bog down. The secondary characters, his sister and her roommate, were not very believable. When Kelly's past is revealed, it is so convoluted that it made no sense at all. The potential for a good love story just collapsed. |
I'm a sucker for a good contemporary romance and this book hits all the right button for me. I was hooked from the start. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a stress-free, sizzling sweet romance. I love, love, love the chemistry between Mac and Kelley. I think they complimented each other really well. They are sweet and their attraction was palpable from the start. I'm not really sure how I feel about Kelley agreeing to go out of town with Mac, just a few hours after they have met. Just because his face was plastered all over the city bus doesn't mean that he couldn't get away with murder. I don't think it was a smart decision on Kelley's part. I also like the fact that both characters come with their own baggage. You wold think with their past, they would drag each other with their miseries. But I feel like they draw strength from each other. Their weaknesses complimented each other's strength and vice versa. I think that what makes their relationship oh-so-beautiful and got me hooked and invested with every pages. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this digital copy in exchange for a review. |
Okay this book has some super steamy sections. Alliteration for the win! I enjoyed this and hearing about this dude’s antics and how he just ends up married. It’s precious. |
This book was really cute. I really enjoyed reading this conversation and interactions and I liked the plot. The summary says they get married so that's not a spoiler but I really enjoyed the careful and thoughtful way they went about dealing with it afterwards. Overall this was a good book. I really loved Mac and his personality and the parts about his job were actually interesting too. *SPOILERS* I didn't like that she ended up trying to be friends with her best friend who seems like a TERRRRRIBLE person at the end of the book. Forgiveness is a hard thing to do and I kind of understand why she forgave her (not really) but to see them try and be friends at the end was a no from me. You can forgive people without letting them back into your life to screw you over again. |
1 stars This book says sizzler alert. I attempted many times to find it, but sadly, I could not. To be honest, it dragged and dragged, I skimmed the last half of the book to see if it got better, sadly for me, it never did. |
Mac is stunned to see a beautiful woman in floods of tears outside Starbucks. He can’t get her out of his mind so when he sees her the following week he starts talking to her. He is amazed to find out she doesn’t recognise him from his popular radio show. They hit it off and he persuades her to come away for the weekend not expecting for them to end up married. Kelley is trying to forget the past and her friend’s betrayal but things go further than she expected. I really liked this story and really connected with the characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |
Mac is one half of the successful radio show Mimi and Mac in the Morning. His heart breaks for the girl outside Starbucks having what sounds like one of the worst days of her life. He would like to take a few rounds out of the guy responsible for it...and he doesn't even know the girl. But there is just something about the girl that calls to him... Fast forward a week and here she is in his favourite Starbucks...at least now he gets a chance to see how she is doing...which leads to lunch. Megan's idiot of an ex happens to show up at the same restaurant and the story of her current living situation spills out. Mac is eager to spend more time with her and invites her along on his weekend gig hosting a comedy festival in Reno. Mac and Megan have a great time at the festival and partying with Mac's friends...until Mac wakes up the next morning and finds himself married to a girl he hardly knows. Combined with breaking his hard fought for sobriety he figures this has to be the stupidest weekend of his life. But what to do about Megan? He cares for her at least he thinks he does as he has never been the guy to even consider marriage. So what does he do now?? A fun contemporary romance from author Dana Mason. |

Loved this book and looking forward to the rest of the series. Mac only ever has short term flings, never serious relationships. Will all that change when he wakes up with a hangover and a wedding ring? Both Mac and Kelley are keeping secrets about their past, so can they have a future together? |
