In-depth book about gratitude. What I learned from this book is that I have not really understood gratitude in my life both in receiving and giving. This has opened my eyes to allow me to show and receive gratitude in the true meaning. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest opinion of this book. Receiving this book in this manner had no bearing on my review.

Will Pye has written a fabulous book full of practical exercises, affirmations and meditations than even the most busy of people like myself. The way it is written is in conversational writing style that has the feel of your own private lessons with Will Pye. Gratitude isn’t just a virtue—it’s a gift we give to ourselves. Written by a spiritual teacher and brain tumor survivor, The Gratitude Miracle will help you discover love, happiness, and peace of mind everywhere you look.

Painful experiences are an inevitable part of life. Traumatic events, the deaths of people we love, physical and mental illnesses—we all face challenges and loss in our personal lives that cause us pain, grief, and sorrow. But what if we could learn to see life as a gift, regardless of our circumstances? The Gratitude Miracle will show you how to transform your struggles and suffering, and learn to cultivate unconditional thankfulness, no matter what happens.

If anyone knows about cultivating gratitude in the face of great difficulty, it’s author, mentor, and spiritual teacher Will Pye. In 2011, Pye was diagnosed with a potentially terminal brain tumor, By learning to find a way to be thankful for his circumstances and developing his own practice of “radical gratitude”—thankfulness and appreciation for everything, without preference—he transformed his personal story and is now working to proliferate unconditional thankfulness around the world.

With this heartfelt guide—filled with easy-to-follow meditations, affirmations, and exercises to help you find love, happiness, and peace in any moment—you’ll discover the positively transformative powers of gratitude: how it can bring more presence, resilience, and vibrancy into your life. You’ll also learn to be grateful for your unique talents and creativity, and how to activate this outlook in the face of despair, distress, and unfortunate circumstances. Finally, you’ll see how being unconditionally thankful reveals our interconnectedness and uplifts us all.

This is a greatly detailed offering of gratitude from the heart of someone who has been there and is giving you what worked for him. Try it out. Test it for yourself.

I thought this book was good, decent but just middle of the road for me. I didn’t connect with some of what was put forth here but that’s okay. We don’t all connect with everything in these types of self-help works.

I am not always an advocate of sitting with the pain and letting it process through. I feel we have sat with that pain too much and need to move on to gain more peace. But just because it all doesn’t work for me doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

The gratitude prescription is a delightful book focusing on the mind-body connection. Anyone living with a chronic illness, (myself included), cancer as well as caregivers, will get a boost from reading this book. It is written by a brain tumor survivor, it is a reminder that although pain, trauma and loss touch each of us in some form, there is something we can give ourselves throughout the journey.

That is gratitude. Gratitude cultivates resilience and positivity in the midst of turbulence and grief. It can transform.

I found myself appreciating the message the author was portraying, the book is filled with suggestions on meditations, affirmations and gratitude exercises to optimize our quality of life, regardless of our circumstances. This is the kind of book you will go back and refer to often.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is going through some kind of trauma etc.

I requested and received an advanced reader copy from the publisher and Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

The Healing Power of Gratitude
"What do a bitter and traumatic family breakup, addiction, bouts of suicidal depression, an ever-breaking heart at a world gone mad, grand mal seizures, financial loss, and brain cancer have in common?"
The author shares his story and describes how he was able to overcome his problems and challenges through the power of gratitude. This book is about thriving and resilience, not in spite of life's difficulties but because of them.

Gratitude is defined as "the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful". (Dictionary.com)
Mr. Pye has done a great deal of research on the mind/body connection. He shares many of his findings in this book. He believes that thoughts of gratitude and positivity can bring about healing and well-being to the mind, body, and soul.

The author shares his story about how he used journaling, affirmations, and meditation after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He focused on self-reflection and gratitude during the most difficult days of his treatment.

This book describes specific affirmations and provides meditation prompts that readers can use to improve their own mindsets. The author asks readers to "reflect on how your experience of changing the way you looked at an issue changed how you experienced it."

I found this book inspiring and uplifting. This is the kind of book you will go back and refer to often. The author ended each chapter with a simple "thank you" to express gratitude and appreciation to his readers.

I want to express my appreciation to all who read this review.

Thank you.

As a recovering self-help junky, I've read too many books in the genre, and can spot fluff very quickly. This is good, down-to-earth stuff! Good examples, some science, some logic, some good examples/stories. Although there's nothing really new or innovative here, this book worked for me. -- Non-fiction is tough in that two authors can say the same thing and you may only connect with one of them. I like the variety of approaches, such as exercises, meditations, any limited (and very short, and thus potentially powerful) affirmations.

I am, yes, grateful for the advanced copy for review!
