Sophie once again finds herself in the middle of all the action in Old Town- she's busy helping with the Pie Festival, as well as entertaining and running her business- when the celebrity judge of the contest dies mid-introduction. Sophie naturally starts sleuthing- into Patsy Lee's death, and by special request, into the imprisonment of a woman whose family believes is innocent of the murder that's put her behind bars for five years. Unfortunately, the danger in this story comes really close to home to Sophie and affects her loved ones.
I really enjoy this series- it has charm and great characters who are well established now that we're up to book 12- and found this to be another well told cozy. Sophie is also just a great lead for the series- she's not overly quirky, she has an interesting job, and I always look forward to the descriptions of her entertaining her friends (unsure where she stores what seems to be a never ending supply of linens and dishes, but that might be jealousy talking). She's a confident, successful woman who focuses on the things and people she loves- even if it means getting too involved in the police investigations. As always, I'm already eager for the next one.

I enjoyed this story. I think it's better than the last one. I liked how the old murder and the new one turned out to be committed by the same person. I really enjoyed Aly's character. So glad to see her mom out of jail. The recipes in the bad look really good. #TheDivaSweetensThePie #NetGalley

Sophie and the gang are back and things are hotter than ever in Old a Town Alexandria, Virginia with the annual pie festival. While Natasha is banned from participating this year and. Ina is a judge, Sophie is just planning to enjoy the event as a spectator. At least until the celebrity pastry chef who is headlining the event dies and Sophie finds herself not only investigating what turns out to be a murder, but an old murder that seems to have convicted an innocent young pastry chef.

As Sophie, Nina, Bernie and Mars dig further, it seems the murderer wants to shut Sophie’s investigation down and goes right after her heart, by attacking her boyfriend Alex. But Sophie can’t stop now, she’s not only seeking to correct a miscarriage if justice, but soon has to defend herself when she is framed for the attack on Alex.

This is a truly delightful series. I am behind in it but earnestly playing catch up.
This book involves a pie festival, murders and secrets, what’s not to love?!
The whodunit was well written and the characters were a treat to read about.
I highly recommend this book and series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is number 12 in the Domestic Diva series after The Diva Cooks Up a Storm. In this book, celebrity cook, Patsy Lee Presley, is one of the judges in a pie contest in Old Town. Sophie and crew think the most awkward part of the contest is when Natasha shows up though she has been banned, but when Patsy Lee takes a header off of the state, the stakes are raised, and raised higher yet when it is determined she was murdered. Sophie gets involved in trying to solve TWO murders, ease tensions with her boyfriend, and, as always, be the perfect hostess to her friends and family.

I just love this whole series by Krista Davis and this book is no exception. While staying true to the series and keeping us up to date with our favorite Old Town characters, Ms. Davis also gives a look at what the next installment might look like which whets the readers' appetites for the NEXT book. I almost gave this a four star because I can be a hard rater, but if cozy is what you're looking for, you just can't beat this book and this series. I highly recommend both.

I really enjoyed this installment. I sped right through it and was guessing right up until the end, going back and forth on who the perpetrator was. The characters in this series are fun and full of energy. I love that they are all so close.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy of the book.

When television cooking show darling Patsy Lee Presley collapses and dies at Old Town's Pie Festival, Sophie's on the scene. Sophie learns that Patsy has ties to Old Town and is connected to several of the contestants. Did the sins of her past come back to haunt her? Or was her murder the result of jealousy? Lots of suspects in the 12th Domestic Diva mystery by cozy author Krista Davis, and this book is a delicious journey from start to finish! I adored this page turner! A+++

I have devoured every single book in this series, and this latest addition is a perfect treat! I love Sophie so much! The way the author writes her makes her seem so perfectly imperfect that she is definitely someone you would want to befriend. The story and mystery were so creative and so well written, i was not able to put the book down until I was at the end. From the first page, I felt like I was right there with everyone, going along on the journey to solve the latest mystery that Sophie falls into. The addition of recipes at the end is always a nice perk too! A book that can be read again and again.
