This is book #4 in the ‘No One Ever Has Sex….’ Series. It can be read as a standalone book and you don’t need to have read the previous books in the series as everything is so nicely explained. However, I would recommend that you do read the other books because…..why wouldn’t you want to!!

We are back with the gang – Katy and Ben, Matthew and Alison, Braindead and Abby and Daniel. It begins at Braindead’s wedding to Abby. Braindead, living up to his name, makes a faux pas in his groom’s speech and lets slip about Katy and Matthew’s one night stand 5 years before. Unfortunately, Matthew’s wife Alison didn’t know and consequently kicked Matthew out when she worked out who Braindead was talking about. From there on, the only way to save Matthew’s marriage and to absolve Katy and Braindead from their guilt is to plan and attend another wedding!

I love this series, and have enjoyed the other books in the series. I thought this one was the best one of the series, and I was instantly dragged back into the gang right from the first page! All the characters are fabulous and I have laughed out loud all the way through this book! Braindead’s wedding was so cleverly written and I loved every single bit of it right from their cravats to his insecurities about whether they were actually married through to putting Abby to bed still in her wedding dress!!

It is a very funny book but amongst all the laughs there is also a serious story going on about friendships, love, infidelity and forgiveness, making this a lovely heart-warming romantic comedy. The book was an easy, quick read and the writing made it an absolute pleasure to read! All of the characters were fabulous (with Braindead being my particular favourite!) and I loved the close bond that they all had between them. It was the ideal book if you want to be left with a warm feeling in your heart, a smile on your face and sides that have been split from laughing too much! Would definitely recommend!!

This is another absolutely fantastic book from Tracy Bloom. From the minute you pick up this book you cannot put it down, its full of so many twists and turns, and bombshells you have got to keep reading to find out what happens next. Honestly ive never giggled so much at a book before it is hilariously good. A really brilliant bunch of characters you can’t help but love them all.

Katy is pregnant with her second child and has a problem - there are not only many weddings looming in the future, but Braindead had inadvertently, during his groom speech at his wedding, let the cat out of the bag about the situation that has happened many years ago, and now Alison has kicked Matthew out. So it's not only that all the friends feel obliged to bring them back together, there is also the joint wedding of Daniel and her own mother. Oh boy.

Dreams comes true, ha? So many of the readers always wanted to read more about Braindead and here we are. "No - One Ever Has Sex at a Wedding" follows the group of our old friends but while the other books were mostly about Katy and Ben, here the author focuses on the other characters as well, and you know what? I really enjoyed it. I've got my dose of Katy and Ben but I also satisfied my curiosity when it comes to Matthew, Alison, Braindead, Daniel and co. This time Alison kicks Matthew out and everybody feels obliged to help them see the sense. Each of the characters is involved - Katy because she feels guilty, Ben because he has no other option, Daniel because he loves to be the centre of attention, Ian because he wants to have his flat for himself again, Braindead because he was the reason Alison found out and, as you can expect, chaos arises. But it's a brilliant chaos, funny and heart-warming, and while it may not be a read that's going to stay with you for long, it's a pure entertainment.

This is already a fourth book in the No - One Ever Has Sex and I am not sure if I would advise you to read it as a stand - alone. Simply, you'd miss too much on brilliant reads, but also, even though the most of the key plots from the previous reads are mentioned briefly, I still think that to fully enjoy the story and understand the characters (I've noticed some of the reviewers were annoyed with the nickname "Braindead" for example - but those were the ones who haven't read the previous books before) you should read the books in the right order.

It was a quick, entertaining read that was like a sitcom. There weren't many detailed descriptions and the events were happening one after another without long and unnecessary introductions, it was more dialogue - orientated and believe me, there were some brilliant conversations throughout the story, the banter was quick, sharp and hilarious. However, guys, this book is not only laugh, there are also some more poignant moments and I liked how the author balanced those moments. Some of the speeches were simply beautiful and unforgettable.
Altogether, "No - One Ever Has Sex at a Wedding" was a funny, undemanding read with a hidden depth, full of shenanigans and embarrassing situations about families, relationships and great friendship, about sticking together through thick and thin. Truly recommended!

I've absolutely loved the 'No-One Ever' series so far, and I was excited to read this one and catch up with the wonderful Ben and Katy and their beloved cast of family and friends as they venture into more funny mishaps (this time, focused on weddings). Ben's best friend Craig (aka 'Braindead') is getting married to the lovely Abby, and this are running smoothly until he lets slip a well-kept secret that threatens to end the marriage of friends Matthew and Alison. And that's not the only wedding trouble for poor Katy, who not only has to try and help mend ex-boyfriend Matthew's relationship, but also assist with pal Daniel's upcoming nuptials.

Whilst I enjoyed this book as a light, quick read, I just don't think it was as funny as the previous books in the series. This one focused less on Katy and Ben and more about everyone else's marital woes, which to me seemed grating (though this could be down to personal preference). I think it just lacked something that the previous books had, that's all. A lot of this book was dialogue; some of the later chapters relied mainly on characters just talking about their relationships which became a bit tedious after a while.

That said, this is still a fun addition to the series (although if you haven't read the previous books, you probably won't have a clue what's going on. But if you haven't and you want something sweet, charming and downright funny I'd totally recommend reading from the beginning as the others are fab.)

This book made me laugh, out loud and then re read certain things so I could laugh out loud again
This is the 5th in the ‘No One Has Sex’ series and the first I have read, ( although read others by this author ) but that mattered not a jot as the book is a total stand alone....that does leave you wanting to read the other 4 though got to say
The book starts at a wedding!!where the groom in his speech inadvertently lets the cat out of the bag that one of the guests had a one night stand with one of the other guests 5 years ago at a school reunion....their partners at the time are still their partners, and at the wedding....and so the book continues on a romp through the main characters lives and how they ‘get over’ this and how ultimately the only way to resolve this is.....another wedding, but the pandemonium and farce to get there is magical and hilarious
There is a scene where one of the cast’s Mum‘s has a FaceTime chat with her son and its just the funniest thing ever, honestly
Be prepared to bellyache laugh at the antics that happen in this book and the humour between them all
There are also touching moments in the book and real life situations that are dealt with and combined with the fun ( have I said its funny yet? ) makes just the perfect book for most anyone at any time
The writing is so accurate to life its genius
Loved every page 😃😃😃😃😃
10/10 5 Stars

I was intrigued by the overview of this book, but I did not realize this was the fourth book in a series. While I was able to follow along, based on context included in this book, I did feel like I missed some backstory. This book feels like an attempt to bring a Friends-esque group to book form. There are funny moments, in which readers may find glimpses of their own friends mirrored. The characters, however, are generally archetypes vs. individuals with depth (the good guy, the smart one, the token gay friend). Also, the nickname Braindead certainly feels off for 2019.

Many thanks to the author, NetGalley, and Bookouture for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

My thanks to Bookouture for an eARC via NetGalley of Tracy Bloom’s latest in exchange for an honest review.

When the groom’s speech at a wedding inadvertently reveals a secret, it sets off a series of upsets. In addition the main character, Katy, who is pregnant, is coping with her mother getting remarried and her gay best friend’s nuptials. The narrative moves between various characters perspectives.

I hadn’t realised that this was the fourth in an ongoing series featuring Katy and her friends and as a result I felt a bit like a guest at a party where everyone knows each other and I am wandering about feeling a bit lost catching tidbits of conversation. I did manage to discover that the revealed secret dates back to Book 1 in the series.

This was an easy read that definitely had its funny and insightful moments. Yet I found that I wasn’t really that invested in the characters. I also probably would class it as a comedy-drama given some of its themes.

I have a number of friends who do enjoy ‘chick-lit’ and will recommend this series to them, though they may already be fans.

I was not aware this book was one in a series. I feel that perhaps reading the others may have enriched this book for me. No-one Ever Has Sex at a Wedding was comedic in parts. It felt somewhat shallow and I wish the relationships were deeper. I did not like the use of the nickname "Braindead" for one of the characters. Even though it eventually made sense, I found it to be off-putting. This book may appeal to many readers especially as a beach read or something similar, but it was not for me.

No-One Ever Has Sex At A Wedding is the fourth book in the Ever Has Sex series.

Braindead is getting married, Ben is his best man and Katy is acting as mother of the groom. Braindead has also invited Matthew and Allison to the wedding and during his speech, he reveals that Katy had a one night stand with an ex-boyfriend. When Allison realises who Katy’s one night stand was with, she throws Matthew out. What follows is absolute chaos.

A lighthearted funny read, I love the characters of Ben and Braindead and how their friendship has endured over the years. As this is the fourth book in the series I would recommend that you read the previous books first to get a better idea of the story.

This funny, heart-warming story was a really enjoyable read, and a great exploration into relationships and the different ways to navigate love and marriage.

I liked that it didn’t purely focus on one main character – although Katy is the focus, there was enough time spent on Matthew and Ben to make the story really interesting. It was fast-paced, which I enjoyed and didn’t necessarily expect in a humorous romantic novel!

The novel starts with the marriage of Braindead (Craig) and Abby, and although at first I was a bit unsure about one of the characters having such a random nickname, it soon all made sense as he proved himself to be a brilliantly hilarious yet emotional character. His seriousness about his marriage being valid, while completely illogical, was genuinely quite sweet, and it was a great setting to start the novel off with. His ridiculous speech, which lets slip the revelation that Katy and Matthew have slept together years previously, sets off a chain of events that has elements of real anguish and heartbreak but also shows the funny side of navigating marriages.

Katy and Ben’s relationship is a sweet examination of how one couple doesn’t let a mistake years previous ruin their relationship, and in one speech by Ben he articulates this very well. It’s interesting, and sometimes awkwardly hilarious, watching the two of them navigate the fact that no one will let Katy’s one-night stand go. Katy herself is a great character, finding herself put into awkward situations, and having an element of ‘real-ness’ about her. Her jealousy about the friendship between her best friend Daniel and gorgeous model Erica is very relatable, and her humorous asides and inside thoughts are really witty.

Watching Matthew and Alison’s relationship is a more realistic look into the highs and lows of a marriage, and Matthew’s slow realisation as to the extent of the situation is really quite sad. However, because the book is very fast-paced, there wasn’t too much dwelling on this, and Daniel really livens up the situation. His flamboyant and bold personality contrasts really well with Matthew. Daniel’s grand gesture at the end of the novel represents development for both Matthew and Daniel and it’s really sweet to watch.

I really enjoyed this novel, and would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a quick, fun and amusing read!

Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I am a huge fan of Tracy' work and this series in particular.

This is the 4th book in this series. While some background is provided in order to get the most enjoyment out of this I would recommend going back to the beginning. There's quite a bit of back story and it is well worth the investment.

I love each and every one of these characters, it was a real pleasure for me to be back in the world of Katy, Ben and the gang. This group of 'friends', and I use that term loosely, never fail to give me a good giggle.

The three weddings were very different but each were perfect for their couple. I really loved Daniel and Gabriel's wedding. It was perfect!

This story was easy to read and my only complaint is that it was over too quickly. I struggled to put it down and the next thing I knew it was almost over. I tried to drag out the last few chapters but I was enjoying it so much that I couldn't do it.

I do hope that Tracy returns to these characters as I really do love them.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I had to admit when I DNF books. but this was one of the books I just couldn't finish. It wasn't bad or anything, I just got bored with it. It had some funny moments, but really I felt like I was a reading a half hour episode of a sitcom or show like Sex in the City mashed up with a twisted version of friends.

I haven't read any of the previous 3 books so I'm not sure if there is more to the story than what I read in here. I wasn't overly fond of the characters.

This was a miss for me.

I felt a bit like something was missing from this book. Didn’t realise that it was part of a series but worked as a stand-alone.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture the publisher for providing me with an E-ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.

When I saw this listed on Netgalley, I had no idea that it was in fact the 4th in a series! although I do feel like this could actually be read as a standalone.

I was drawn in by the name of the novel- I mean come on “No-one Ever has Sex at a Wedding” does sound like it could be hilarious, unfortunately I felt like this was missing something.

Don’t get me wrong I thought that this would be a fine book to read on a flight or just relaxing with a bottle of wine, there were some funny moments but nothing that made me crack up laughing.

Unfortunately there didn’t seem to be very much going on throughout the book aside from Katy complaining about weddings during the summer and being pregnant (although I really can’t blame her for that), Daniel being over the top and a bit self obsessed, and “Braindead” (aka Craig) being, well himself.

Braindead- well let’s be honest, that nickname got very boring – very fast, his character was clearly the lovable and slightly clueless one of the group- I mean who asks the registrar (during the wedding ceremony) if you have to have sex on your wedding day to make it legally binding?, I just wish they stopped constantly referring to him as his nickname, as that is something you would expect from a group in their early 20s. Although I think maybe the nickname was warranted when he inadvertently ruined someone elses wedding on his own wedding day.

There were a few sweet moments, the wedding, and not so wedding speeches were definitely some of my favourites.

I loved the spotlight onto platonic and familial love as well as romantic as they are every bit as important.

Oh and if anyone is wondering, no you do not have to have sex on your wedding day to make it legally binding, Tracy Bloom did her research on that matter.
So hey at least there is no pressure there because who really has the energy to have sex after their wedding?

Got to read this via Netgalley (my first one!) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Katy and Matthew are affected by a “mistake” they made years ago, which is accidentally outed at a wedding of a mutual friend, and so the shenanigans continue.

What I really enjoyed:
- Matthew’s kids
- characterisation of Katy (a pregnant character where there isn’t a dramatic labour scene, and actually her being pregnant isn’t really the point)
- the relationships between all characters - all seemed very realistic

It’s only a 4 because it wasn’t a “life changing” book, but it was a pleasant enough “holiday read”.

No-one Ever Has Sex at a Wedding by Tracy Bloom is the fourth book in the No-one Ever Has Sex romantic comedy series. This is a continuing series about a group of friends and their lives so the best way to enjoy them would be starting with the first book, No-One Ever Has Sex On A Tuesday. However, I actually joined this series at book three and still found it hilarious so I definitely wanted to return for book four knowing there may be some back story I may have missed.

This series is not just about one couple but several friends and their relationships with one another so the point of view does switch between a few characters. In this installment all of the laughs come from our characters having to attend several weddings. As most would know things rarely go as planned and that definitely holds true in this story.

When reading the third book of this series I remember having the thought that these people sure are a hot mess… but such a hysterical hot mess that I couldn’t put it down. Well, things have not changed a bit and the author again has done a great job tossing problems at the cast of characters and letting them deal with them in a humorous manor keeping a smile on a readers face and plenty of laughs on hand all throughout.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

cute, funny, good way to pass time. I went out of my normal book requests for this. I only read psychological thrillers and decided to lighten the reading a little. This was enjoyable and reminded me of a rom-com movie. In a good way. I might even try some of the other books by Tracy Bloom.
Thank you for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

DNF at 25%.
First of all, this is the fourth book in a series and I was unaware of that. I felt lost pretty quickly because there's a lot of backstory I didn't know from the first three books. Secondly, Braindead? It's a funny nickname for half a second. To actually stick with the name for all conversations and references is incredibly annoying and got old very quickly. Establish that it's his nickname but refer to him by his actual name. Also, who asks the registrar about if sex is necessary on the wedding night DURING THE WEDDING in front of all the guests?? No characters were the least bit likable in the 50 plus pages that I read and the writing seemed slogged down. I see no point in continuing to read a book I'm not enjoying.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this digital arc.

I did not realize this was the fourth book in a series. The description of the book sounded like it would be a fun and humorous read. I was wrong. The book is fine as a standalone and I have no interest in reading the previous books. The amount of times I had to read the word Braindead, too many to count. Why not just call the man Craig? the nickname got old very quick. Not to mention but Braindead was the worst character. Who asks the minister/preacher/priest/person officiating your wedding if you need to have sex to make the marriage legal????!!!! Then the speech. Who keeps bringing up an affair that happened five years ago???? Ben forgave his wife so why is his best friend constantly bringing it up. Braindead's excuse for no sex during his honeymoon was also laughable. All the characters acted more like they were in high school instead of being in their thirties or forties. Then there was Erica's declaration of love. Seriously??!!! The story and characters were just not my cup of tea. I thought the book was going to be about Kate at three different weddings, but pretty much centered around Braindead's horrendous wedding day. The last two were just thrown in at the end. What was with the the circus tent??!! Nothing says I'm sorry like a clown being shot out of a cannon. The book just didn't live up to its description.

I only recommend the book if you read the previous books in the series and you enjoyed them. This book just wasn't for me.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bookouture through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
