This is one of my favorite mystery series, but this book was disappointing. The mystery didn't even begin until halfway through the book. The beginning was the main characters' honeymoon and Brooklyn working in her workshop. Once the mystery began it was predictable and melodramatic. If you are a fan of the series, the book is worth reading just to spend time with the characters. If you haven't read this series before, don't start here. Go back to book 1, Homicide in Hardcover.

I love Kate Carlisle's books they are fun, cozy mysteries that are easy to read. I enjoy her characters and like that they feel like friends you haven't seen in a while.

Book number 13 in the series, yet still going strong. I tried to take a break every couple of chapters so that I didn't finish it in one night, but still managed to do so, as I really didn't want to put it down. Brooklyn and Derek get involved in another murder which involves a book of course. This once again makes Inspector Lee unhappy but they all work together to get the bad guy.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGaley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review. - I hope this series continues for a long time.

What a fun book for a book nerd to read on her time off. Although the narrative dragged in places, the overall book was an entertaining read. All the sections about book repair made me itch to sign up for a book making course.

The Bibliophiles mysteries are always entertaining to me, mostly because I like the characters. The mystery this time is connected to Derek's MI6 past rather than Brooklyn's book collector/bookbinding/library world. This was a refreshing change of pace, not least because there isn't a single appearance of the odious Minka. Rest assured, there is some book restoration content included and some of the recurring characters make appearances. I was quite satisfied with this installment.

Enjoy this series about Brooklyn and Derek but feel it must be close to coming to an and. Crimes seem same old, same old.

Kate Carlisle never disappoints with the Brooklyn Wainwright mystery series, my favorite. Brooklyn and Derek are in Paris enjoying the last day of their honeymoon when they run into an old friend of Derek’s. He tells them about a spy shop newly opened in San Francisco, and Derek knows the owner, another person from their “spy” days. Brooklyn, a renowned book restorer,of course comes home with books including a very valuable edition of a Bond book. The plot takes off from here, with mystery, murder, and wonderful information about restoring books. I highly recommend this series to anyone who looks books, and isn’t that all of us.
