I found this book to be a delightful, relaxing read. Addie has always been “just one of the guys”. They’ve had a close knit group since high school. Tucker is the only one of the group that has left town for the city for his career as a lawyer. Shep is the first of the group to find love and get married. He asks Addie to be one of his groomsmen, although his fiancée wants her dressed the same as the bridesmaids. Addie is trying to fit in with the girls, but it’s difficult for her with her tomboy style. Tucker first sees her in a dress and is quite attracted to her. Unfortunately he doesn’t realize it’s Addie because her head is under a car. They are attracted to each other, but are afraid to ruin their friendship and the dynamic of their close group. There’s a lot of interference from friends and family, particularly her hilarious Nonna!

Addison had been just one of the guys for a long time and now one of her best friend, Shep is getting married naturally being a grooms (wo)man. Tucker is one of the guys in this group and he's been a away for awhile and now back and here to even stay. Thing is he never expected was to be attracted to the women whose legs was sticking out under the hood of the car and come to find that its his good buddy Addison. Addison and Tucker know things can get complicated should they pursue into a relationship, they are in a small town that loves to gossip, there is loads to do with helping their best friends wedding, and things can turn sour if things go bad then what will happen to their group?

This is my favorite type of love stories so naturally I loved it. I love a good friends to lover friendships, I loved that it wasn't insta lovey. They knew eachother for a long while so it was sweet to see their relationship and watch as it begins to heat up. There was so much riding on the issue if things ever happen between the two and things dont work out it could not only impact them but the group of best friends and the town might even pick sides. Naturally they'd want to keep things secrets till things are sure. I liked seeing the romance between the two and there was plenty of funny moments and mishaps. This was just such a cute book I really enjoyed it.

This is Addison and Tucker’s book, Addison is basically just one of the guys, she is the funny girl that quirky girl the down to earth guys gal! When one of her best guy friends is getting married he wants her to be a groomsman! Tucker has known Addie most of his life he’s got a good group of guy friends and Addie is basically just like one of the guys! Tucker returns to his small hometown expecting to see all the same all people, he certainly doesn’t expect to see a hot pair a legs sticking out from under the hood of a broken down car! He definitely doesn’t expect to feel his heart beat out of his chest when he realizes those hot legs belong to one of his best friends!! This book was really funny and I really enjoyed reading this one! It’s definitely a little low on the steam factor but still a fun feel good book! I definitely recommend reading this one! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Friends to Lovers!

Addie is a text book tomboy, and she likes it that way. She and her friends (all males) from high school consider her just one of the guys. But Tucker is special.

Because the two main characters are such good friends, they are reluctant to put that friendship on the line. But eventually, they naturally fall into a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Of course, this transition causes hurt feelings by some close to the couple.

I loved Addie and Tucker, and truly enjoyed the friends and family introduced in this book. This is a quick read, with a cute ending.

A great start to what promises to be a fun series!

I loved Addie and Tucker’s rather unconventional friends-to-lovers story. The “groomsmen” aspect was just part of it–I especially liked that Tucker was the first one to be feeling all the feelings and that Addie didn’t have to do any changing of who she was to “get her guy”–despite what her mother and the entire town of Uncertainty(!) had been telling her for years. Ms. Marsden’s writing style was a lot of fun here–there were just as many LOL moments as there were swoony ones. (Addie’s grandma–OMG)

I’m a little bummed that we don’t get Shep and Lexi’s story (the bride and groom) but there’s still plenty of single groomsmen left in the friends group, and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Marsden has in store for them!

Rating: 4 stars / A

I enjoyed the characters but felt the story moved too slowly. While I did enjoy the book, I didn't love it as much as I hoped I would. I don't mind slow burns, but I think I would have liked this a lot better if the romance moved faster. I would describe Just One of the Groomsmen as lighthearted chic-lit. I found it easy to read and well written, but not as memorable as I'd hoped.

Addison/Addie’s best friend were all guys- Tucker, Ford, Edsen, and Shep. Shep was getting married and asked Addie to be one of his groomsmen and Addie agrees. Addie had been a tomboy all her life and grew up with these four guys. Tucker and moved away to become a lawyer but found that hadn’t made him happy and he just moved back to town. Tucker is one of Addie’s best friends but when he sees Addie again he sees her differently and wants ther to give him a chance and see where these new feelings could go. Addie wasn't used to be looked at as a desirable woman. Tucker told her she had to notice that something was changing between them. Addie had complex family relationships and she felt responsible for looking after people especially her grandmother. Tucker and Addie worried about how these feelings would affect their friendship. Also how their changing relationship would affect their other best friends.
I really enjoyed this best friend to lovers romantic read. I loved Addie and Tucker together and how they interacted. Thus caught my attention right from the start and held it until the very end. I loved the plot. This did however drag for me at times. I liked that the relationship slowly changed for Tucker and Addie. Also that they really thought and talked about what this could do to their long friendship and the relationships with their other best friends. Especially if they didn’t make it as a couple. They were a few too many sex scenes once Addie and tucker started sleeping together. I loved how Addie could put the guys in their place. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

Super cute friends to lovers! The relationship between Tucker and Addie is effortless and the chemistry is there from the start. The slow burn of their relationship turning into something more was the best part. The secondary characters and their friendship added levity and fun to the book. Overall, you can’t go wrong with this sweet, small town romance.

Just One of the Groomsmen kicks off Cindi Madsen's new series Getting Hitched in Dixie and after reading Addie and Tucker's story, I am looking forward to what comes next.

This is a fun, friends to lovers romance with excellent characters. Addie and Tucker are both easy to like, even when you want to bop them upside the head. The secondary cast is entertaining, I especially liked that Ms Madsen made Lexi a female character that Addie was able to bond with instead of being competitive with for Shep's friendship. The town itself is a fabulous character! I also liked the emotional growth we saw. Both Addie and Tucker had soft spots and insecurities that they had to face in order to have a chance and I appreciated how that was handled.

Book 1 in a series is always a challenge to balance world building with the story and Ms Madsen did an excellent job. She gave us a chance to know the town and Addie's core group of friends, but didn't over power the relationship growing between the main characters.

After reading this, I am looking forward to seeing more of Uncertainty, AL!

4 1/2 super cute, sweet stars. Great summer southern read about two best friends becoming more. I loved how this romance developed, and the sincere love the two have for one another. I can’t wait to read more of this series.

Just One of the Groomsman
(Getting Hitched in Dixie #1)
By Cindi Madsen

Addison Murphy is just one of the guys from this group of friends that have known each other since childhood. They grew up in Uncertainty, a small town in Alabama. Until college split the group apart as Tucker Crawford moved away to become a lawyer. On his drive back into town he is flagged down by a group of ladies on the side of the road. It’s Lexi’s bachelorette party, the fiancée of his good friend Shep. Their wedding is the reason he’s back in Uncertainty. He unexpectedly finds a sexy pair of legs underneath a car and more to his surprise the legs belong to Addie.

The group: Addie, Tucker, Shep, Easton and Ford get into more trouble as they pick up right where they left off as if the years separating them never happened. Poker games and football games and general horsing around that guys do when you add in beer and an excuse to reminisce. Addie fits right in and gives as much ribbing as she takes.

Lexi is unsure of Addie and has trouble understanding how she fits in with this group. However, Addie will do whatever it takes to prove she is really just one of the guys. That is until she looks at Tucker and her heart has other plans. Lexi sees how Addie is trying to hide her feelings for Tucker and realizes she isn’t a threat between Shep and her.

Tucker tries to hide his feelings from the guys, but really wants a chance with Addie. As the wedding festivities commence, more trouble ensues. Can Addie and Tucker make it through the wedding without ruining the friendships they hold so dear?

The whole town of Uncertainty know what trouble Addie and Tucker can get into, and their story is entertaining and endearing.

The whole cast of characters welcomes the reader into their little town. I look forward to reading the stories of the rest of the group as more antics are sure to follow this group of friends.

Loved, loved, loved this book! I loved the friends-to-lovers storyline, the camaraderie of the group of "guys", the secondary characters - especially Addie's grandmother Nonna Lucia, the Southern charm of Uncertainty, Alabama - I just loved everything about the book.

Addison "Addie" Murphy is a tomboy who has been friends with a group of guys since high school. One of the guys is getting married, and Addie is asked to be a "groomsmen" along with Tucker Crawford, who had moved away and become a "big city lawyer."

Tucker realizes that big city life is not for him and moves back to town because life is too short to be miserable. Addie had always been his "go-to" when he needed advice, and he missed his best friend.

While Addie was close to all the guys, she had a special connection to Tucker and, when he returns to Uncertainty, she feels things are realigned.

"It was as if something she hadn't even realized was broken was fixed."

Both Tucker and Addie are afraid to cross the line from friend to lover but, as Addie's grandmother tells them

"Friendship is easy. You add fire, it gets tricky. But if you find a way to have both..."

This is my first Cindi Madsen book, and I definitely want to read more of her books. I laughed out loud when Nonna put Tucker on retainer and promoted him to the whole town and at the Star Wars and Harry Potter references. I highly recommend this book and hope there will be more about the rest of the "guys"!

addison "addie" murphy is just one of the guys. she's always been one of the guys, so when one of the guys gets engaged, she's included in the wedding party as just one of the groomsmen, hiding in plain sight as a bridesmaid. one of the best things about addie is how much she clearly loves her friends and would do anything for them, because even though wearing dresses and doing girly things aren't her scene she willingly submits to all of it.

things only start to get confusing when tucker crawford gets back in town. at first, he's just happy to be in the place that has always felt like his truest home with the people who matter most to him in the world. but then, when he starts noticing addie in not friendlike ways he's torn. because their friendship means everything to him. and he's afraid that one wrong move will ruin everything.

and this book is just about so many things, in part it's about coming home, but it's also about finding your place in life and surrounding yourself with people who will love and support you through it all. madsen's books always have so much heart, and i look forward to more stories in this world, which, while not a given has a lot of possibilities.

This is the perfect weekend read sexy, fun and flirty. The characters are easy to relate to and I love the friendships between everyobe. Abbie is the token chick in the group total tomboy but super sassy. She can fix a car and take your breath away with her beauty in minutes. She is off limits the total friendship before all else. I love how Tucker gets knocked on his butt when he realizes his true feelings. Struggling to find his path in life he just may find what he has been missing this entire time. But the question is can he take the risk and lose it all? You need to read this amazing book and find out for yourself. It's such a great romantic comedy you don't want to miss out.

4.5 stars - I 💗 friends to lovers stories! Watching the heroine (a “just one of the guys” type of girls) get her man was an added bonus for me, because she has even more in common with her male friend than a typical M/F BFFs situation. In this case, the attraction seems to hit both friends like a tidal wave and the wipe out is one for the record books. This is a wonderful read that is choke-full of other sexy fellas whom I hope have stories to come. I can’t wait to see how their HEAs will unfold.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Just One of the Groomsmen by Cindi Madsen is the story of a group of friends who are making the life changing decisions one makes in life. The group is all males except for the tom boy Addie, please don’t call her Addison. It is a finding yourself story along with being a “friends to lovers” story.

Tucker is the male main character who finds that the life he has chosen doesn’t fit well at all. He makes decisions that some might say where done too quickly. I think life is too short to live someone else dream instead of finding your own. Only that one decision finds him home, seeing everything differently, especially his friend Addie.

Fun group of characters with the friends but other than Addie and Tucker, the one I loved the most is Addie’s Nonna with Lexi taking a close second. The romance is an engaging read reminding us that you can go home again. When you do, it just might be even better than you remembered. Loved the ending where turn about is fair play.

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. I love the drama of the will they, won't they. I love the uncertainty. Addie and Tucker's journey is one of my absolute favorites. I loved how they talked to each other and did constant check ins that this was what they wanted. But the journey wasn't without its bumps and that kept me glued to the story.

I felt every emotion that Addie and Tucker felt and was immediately rooting for them. Their friendship was my favorite part of their story and watching it grow was amazing!! This story was like all of my favorite romantic movies rolled into one book!! I'm absolutely in love with these characters and this town. I NEED this to be a series so I can visit all of them again and get to know them better.

It has to be different living in a town called Uncertainty. I would think there would be a lot of jokes about people being uncertain about many things. I am certain that Addie and her best friends were not the norm, especially since she was the only girl with four guys as her best friends! Tucker, one of the best friends, had moved away to be part of a law practice, but was not happy. I loved how the “guys” always got together to play poker, football, drink, and watch football. I have never known a girl to be so much a part of the guys but no sex. I think it really started bothering her that no one thought of her as a girl. It was sweet how Addie and Tucker had been friends since they were children. It is funny how feelings grow without even realizing it. I loved Shep’s fiancée, and how she made Addie feel comfortable. It’s always fun to watch tough guys fall for a woman! I enjoyed the book and encourage you to read it. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
