What a great start to the new Getting Hitched in Dixie Series, if Just One of the Groomsman is anything to go by this will certainly be a series you will want to read.
Addie is just one of the guys as she is the only girl in the small group that have grown up together so when one of them announces he is getting married it makes sense for her to be one of the groomsman problem is the future bride wants her as a maid of honour ..... Addie in a bridesmaid dress is not what she expected or really wants but she goes along with the plan to keep everyone happy. Tucker and Addie have always been the closest of this tight nite group but he left to become a hotshot lawyer in the city ... but now he’s back and has even quit his job to move back to his hometown. You are going to need to read the book to see what happens next.
This box ticked all my boxes , friends to lovers, small town romance, the perfect mix of love and humour as well as adorable characters. The banter between this group flows naturally as does the story and I can’t wait to see who story is next. Must read for all romance lovers

“Damn, how could he resist such a solid Star Wars reference? Not that he wouldn’t make her work a little harder for it. “What’s in it for me?”
She made an offended noise. “You get to hang out with yours truly,…”

I LOVED Tucker and Addie so much! Their back and forth was so genuine, you could see/feel their connection as friends from the start. It was fun to see when they started thinking about their normal responses having a sexual or flirtation undertone. They way Tucker tries so hard to keep his feeling for Addie in check is both admirable and real, you can see from his past why Addie’s friendship is so important to him. He doesn’t want to skew it up and loose her, I felt so drawn to these too I kept reading wondering how they would figure it all out. It is a romance, so I am not giving spoilers away. Seeing them struggle with everyday things, from crappy jobs, to money issues made the story more real. For you animal lovers there is a really cute puppy in this book that will have you laughing and going “oh no!” a lot.

This book will have you turning pages and confusing your e-reader on reading speed. I highly recommend you grab this book ASAP and curl up in your reading spot to enjoy it!

My first Cindi Madsen novel and it was FANTASTIC!!! The PERFECT Friends to Lovers small town romance... I loved every bit of it. The characters. The banter. The heart pangs that hurt so good. It all felt perfectly authentic with just the right amount of believable trepidation, reluctant attraction, and self preservation warring with unexpected emotion. So so so good!!!

5 Star Review of One of the Groomsmen (Getting Hitched in Dixie #1) by Cindi Madsen
Cindi Madsen is a new author to me and I have no idea why that is. I loved this book. From chapter one until the end the story that Ms.Madsen wove had me thoroughly entertained and captivated.
When Tucker Crawford return to his small hometown the last thing he expects is to be attracted to one of his best friends Addison Murphy.
Can Tucker convince Addie to give him a chance? The chemistry is electrifying and the air sizzles when they are together but will it be enough for these two friends to cross the invisible line? Will they take a chance that could destroy not only their friendship but those around them forever?
The writing was strong and the story flowed well. This is an author I will be reading again as soon as possible.

Thank you Cindi Madison for another light enticing read. This time we have the gal who is the best friends with all the guys... she felt more comfortable with all of them. As the grooms-person, she is in the town to support her friends.
One of the grooms-man sees our gal with new eyes. He wants to pursue her and see if they can have something together but also is concerned not to mess up the group's dynamic. How will this work out and can they have their HEA...

This was such a sweet friends to lovers story with a mix of sexiness! This was my first read by Cindi Madsen and it definitely won't be my last!

What I loved about this? It's so light, fun, and the characters are so relatable! I couldn't get enough of Tucker and Addie. Their history and chemistry is so fun!!!

Despite the story being predictable it doesn't even matter. Loved the ending and the story was better than I expected and highly recommend for a summer read!!

If you are looking for a book that makes you smile and gives you the warm fuzzies, then this is definitely the book for you!

This is a cute, fun best friends to lovers romance that takes place in Uncertainty, a small town in Alabama. Addison is just one of the guys, in fact, her best friends are all guys. Now one of the guys is getting married and asks Addison to be one of his groomsmen. Tucker is one of Addison's best friends. He moved away to become a lawyer, now he's back in town and finds himself looking at Addison in a different light. He just needs to convince Addison to give him a chance and take a shot at long-lasting love... but could this love story split their close knit circle of friends?

I loved the story even though it was predictable... plus, you really feel the chemistry between the main characters. This would make a great summer read - highly recommended!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Entangled for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Just One of the Groomsmen by Cindi Madsen

Things are changing for Tucker and Addie. And between them.
Friends to lovers story. A charming contemporary romance filled with poignant moments of self awareness and changing emotions.

Addie has been a tomboy all her life. Her best friends are the four men she grew up with. She plays football, plays poker and generally feels the most comfortable with them. But now that one of the four is getting married, she’ll need to wear a dress and heels to the wedding and take dancing lessons. It’s a new experience for her. But once Tucker catches a glimpse of her legs under a car, he suddenly sees the sexy female instead of his best friend.

Excerpt:
“You look great,” he said, and it warmed her from the inside out, even though she told herself she’d asked, and he’d simply answered a question. The “you look like you,” he added left her wondering what exactly that meant. Of course she looked like herself.
When she caught her reflection in the window of Ford’s truck, she decided that for all Tucker’s talk about not liking having to lie, he was a big fat liar. The last word she’d use to describe the girl in the reflection with the grass-stained clothes and lopsided ponytail was “great.”
Not that she cared.
She used to not care.”

I’m a sucker for a good BFF to more story, but add in that it’s set in the south and I’m done.

I really liked Addie and Tucker. I enjoyed their history and banter. I liked that she was a tough smart ass who kept all of the boys in their place. He’s a little insecure about some things, but steadfast. I am 100000% here for the loyalty this group has for each other. I love love loved their friendships and it was probably the best part of the story.

Plot wise, it did drag a little for me. GR states that it’s just over 300 pages, but my physical copy was 418 and that seemed much longer than it needed to be. There was a lot of wishy-washy push pull and instead of it creating tension, it felt repetitive and stalled out. Of course the last couple of chapters are fantastic and I loved the grand gesture and epilogue.

Overall, it was the characters that kept me reading. I loved this group and I’m hoping the other men will all get their own book.

This is the first time I have read this author and I think I have fallen in love.

This was a perfect friends to …. Well I don’t think lovers would be the right word because it was more than that. This is a very sweet, fun, easy going, and just adorable story. I especially loved the title, it’s what caught my attention and I’m so glad I picked it up. This will be a perfect summer read, especially in wedding season. I’m glad I picked it up.

Just One of the Groomsmen by Cindi Madsen is a book that has so many of my favorite things in it: small town, puppy, best-friends-to-more trope, sports, a quirky grandmother, a kickass heroine, and a sexy boat building lawyer. Madsen's storytelling here is comfortable, humorous, and warm-hearted.

Addie is an unapologetic tomboy, who has always hung out with her group of guy friends. When her best guy friend, Tucker, returns to their hometown, deciding that big city life as a lawyer wasn't cutting it, Addie and Tucker begin to see each other in a different light.

This was such an easy novel to enjoy. Addie's self-consciousness felt real as did Tucker's selflessness.

Usually I'm a fan of the final big gesture but this one didn't really work for me considering its location (in front of the whole town) and how many times the word "sexy" was used...in front of the whole town. That was a bit ick.

I am looking forward to more stories in this series. I wish we had seen how Shep and Lexi got together because it seemed like it would have been a fun story too.

Such a great feel good book, I ended with a smile on my face and eager for another book. Congrats to Cindi!!

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes and "Just One of the Groomsmen" does not disappoint, from Cindi's writing and pace I was hooked from the start, add to that that you have great characters, l really liked Addie and Tucker.. Then you have the banter, the camaraderie among the group of friends and of course the slow burn romance; Addie and Tucker try to fight their attraction which you know is inevitable but it provides for fun and entertainig moments. The secondary characters were also quite nice and it makes me excited for the possibility of getting more stories.

If you want a lighthearted, fun, sweet and satisfying read you can't miss this book, 100% recommendable.

I laughed and smiled throughout this book. This group have been best friends since before high school. The 4 guys have treated Murph like one of the guys. She is perfect example of a tom boy. Doesn't like dresses, high heels and doesn't wear make-up. Even though this book is supposed to be about Shep and Lexi getting married, Tucker and Addie steal the show. In the end, small town living is the place for all. The secondary characters are a hoot.

Just One of the Groomsmen was a very fun book. I was captured from the first couple of pages and read this in one sitting. This is my first exposure to one of Cindi Madsen's books, but it will most definitely not be the last.

Addison Murphy aka Addie aka Murph has been best friends with her group of guys since grade school. She can't imagine her life without them. When she's asked to be one of the groomsmen for her friend Sheps' wedding she couldn't be more excited. The downside? She has to wear a dress. When Tucker moves back into town, Addie's feelings start to change.

After hearing about one of his best-friends upcoming nuptials, Tucker quits his job, sick of living in the city and wanting to be closer to his friends. When he's moving back in town and sees his best friend, Addie, in a dress he can't seem to see her as just his best friend anymore.

I enjoyed this story very much. It was very fun. Addie was a relatable and fun character. I liked watching her grow as a character and learn about how such a strong character also dealt with feeling inadequate.

Tucker was a fun character as well. I enjoyed how he struggled with who his family wanted him to be, with who he wanted to be. I enjoyed his transition into small-town life again and finding himself.

The relationship between Tucker and Addie was very fun to read about. Both when they were "just friends" and when they became closer. The sexy scenes were swoon-worthy and in need of a fan (HOTT!!!)

Rating: 4.5

This was a cute and fun fell good book. Small town romances are my jam. I loved this close knit group of friends. They reminded me so much of the TV show ‘My Boys’. Cindi weaved a great story giving any romantic heart all the warm fuzzies. An easy weekend read.

3.5 stars!
A small town, one girl, four boys. Only that the girls and the boys have been thick-as-thieves friends for decades. When Tucker comes back to town - tired of the city and a job that doesn't fulfill him - for his friend wedding, he never expects to see Addison in a different light. They've been friends forever. There isn't a memory of his childhood that hasn't her on it. And yet he can't help to notice her in a different way. And neither can she.
In this small town riveting novel, we get to see how Addie and Tucker navigate going from friends to lovers and how they both have a few other bumps in the road to deal with.
I loved the main characters and the supporting characters are also a delight (I can't wait for Ford's book).. I enjoyed this book and I think it was well executed, the conflict is there but is not over the top and the resolution is cute. I did struggle a little with the over the top small town life, but it didn't hinder the book for me.
A joyful read!

This is a story of best friends who find a path of uncharted territory when they find themselves looking at one another differently. Addie and Tucker have been friends since they were little and when Tucker moves back home things start to change between them. Addie is still in their small town living her life but not as happy as she could be. Tucker was living in the city as a big-time lawyer until he comes home feeling a little lost about what to do with his life. When one of their best friends gets engaged and Addie must dabble in the bridesmaid activities Tucker can see something different. They both get hit with a spark that they didn’t see coming. Their interactions become awkward and they start fighting even more. We all know what happens when you there is fighting and its because there are strong feelings involved that they are both fighting. When they finally take the plunge and dive right into a relationship it is a beautiful thing to witness. We all know though there will be something to throw a kink into their plan but will they push through the kink or let it destroy their many years of friendship and love.

I love Addie and Tucker’s story because its that best friend to lovers and who doesn’t love that. The flow of the story is great and there are moments that will have you laughing out loud. Their small town makes the story even better because they all seem like one big happy family. Addie and Tucker have this sweet romance that can get a little bit dirty. Their relationship just takes on a different energy when they finally let their feelings and heart take control. I like the characters; story and I wish I could live in their town just so I could meet the people there. It also holds a message to do not let a “what if” stop you from going after what you want.

Dating in a small town!

Physical therapist Addison (Murph)Murphy had always been one of the guys, playing sports and weekly poker games until one of the guys asked her to be one of his groomsmen at his wedding even though the bride wasn’t so sure about having her in the wedding party because she didn’t dress up. Lawyer Tucker Crawford was also one of the groomsmen for the wedding even though he works in the city but when he decides that he needs a change of pace and moves back home to the houseboat that the owns.

On the day Tucker got back to town, he realized that Addie was a gorgeous girl and he was very interested but he wasn’t ready for the nosy townspeople to put in their opinions about Addie and Tucker dating which comes back to haunt him.

I loved how Just One of the Groomsmen shows dating in a small town where there aren’t many single women and men and how feeling can change when people see the kids they played around with as adults and not just of the guys.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Addie has been one of the guys forever, this was a close five growing up so naturally when one of the group was getting married she'd be one of the groomsmen of course. She had no idea the impact of Tucker coming back to the fold would open a can of worms, feelings that shouldn't be happening start. Addie understood her best friend going off to the big city for his career but she missed him, what she hadn't expect was how her feelings changed, when did they change? They couldn't chance loosing their closeness and ease wasn't something they wanted, right? But when being "one of the guys" made her wonder if she'd ever be seen as anything other than that, doubts begin to fill Addie. Tucker is coming home, with no job and a new start he didn't expect to find out the girl he grew up with had sexy legs and a hot body he wanted to hold against him. Seeing his best friend in a new light made him start thinking naughty things...Can they take the next step and keep their friendship? Great characters, Nonna is my kind of grandma! Great humor with heavy feels-all around great read. Tomboys can be sexy as hell!
