This is a story of second chances and two souls finding their way through the troubles heading their way. Maggie and Josiah have that all-consuming chemistry that will ignite the pages of your book. When they meet at the wedding of some love ones, they don’t let that night get away from them. They experience something neither of them have ever thought they could feel. When Josiah decides to stay and help Maggie with her family ranch, he makes it his mission to fight for her. Maggie is dealing with some demons that she can’t let go of and some would just call her stubborn. Josiah is fighting for her and he doesn’t give up easy because he will get what he wants even if there are forces beyond his control getting in his way. I like the suspenseful drama that unfolds within the story line. The author really brings to life some things we wonder about when there are people out there who try to influence your way of life. Maggie and Josiah have to fight this type of people through the whole story including their own hearts.

I like this story because the suspense didn’t overshadow the love story. It was a good read and the story flowed from scene to scene. The two characters are good together because they bring something out in one another that is hard to come by in this day in age. Their chemistry is intense and all consuming. Personality wise though Maggie was a hard sell for me because her stubbornness knew no bounds and she took things too far sometimes. Josiah is a good counterpart for her because he is level-headed with a dominant personality. This book was good and something nice to cuddle up with under you blanket when you need a good book to read.

Shayla Black is a newer to me author. I have read a handful of books by her and have truly enjoyed them. In Devoted to Love we get a steamy and suspenseful story that was captivating to read. Josiah Grant and Magnolia, Maggie, West meet at a wedding and have a hot and steamy night together. That was all it was supposed to be. Imagine their surprise when she becomes his client.

When it seems Maggie and her family may be in danger, Josiah will do anything to protect them and her. And as they spend time together, Josiah is determined to show her all they be if she lets him in. Maggie has not had much luck in the romance department and is more closed off. Though she finds Josiah sexy and charming, can she trust her heart to him? Josiah was protective, strong and one very determined man. He will protect Maggie and have her too. Devoted to Love by Shayla Black was full of twists, suspenseful and steamy.

Good story with a suspenseful ending.

When I looked up the list of books by the author I was surprised at how many books she has written. I need to grab a few more as I really enjoy her writing.

This upcoming book has a great mixture of romance and suspense going on to keep the interest level high. The author gave us some great characters that were not perfect by any means. In fact, Maggie had some issues that prevented her from being a character I enjoyed as much as a typical romance. But the ending made up for a lot of what I did not like earlier in the story.

I loved the unique plot and the twists that Black kept throwing out there. The supporting characters were surprising and even a bit creepy in many ways and that kept those pages turning!

With a great plot pulled from the headlines and wonderfully developed characters, Devoted to Love is a mixture of suspense, sexiness, and surprises. Definitely worth the read!

"The truth was, everything about him flipped her switch. Even when she didn't want to want him, she did."

Josiah had no idea that his wedding hookup would turn into an assignment. He knew that it was frowned upon to mix business with pleasure with the woman he was protecting, but "The lust bug had bitten him hard." She knew exactly how to push his buttons and she did it well.

Maggie is a pistol and she gave Josiah a run for his money. Watching her wind him up was very entertaining. And seeing how quickly he had her following his orders was very hot. They were gasoline and fire to each other, so explosive my Kindle almost melted in my hands.

When I wasn't blushing or laughing I was scratching my head trying to figure out what was up with the mysterious group that was harassing Maggie's family. They took me to #CrazyTown and it was a hair raising ride. I've really enjoyed the Devoted series and look forward to whatever the author has for me next. The line forms here...

Josiah loves to pull out all the stops with his charm, “it’s Josiah, and yes, I am. If that’s not clear, I’ll be happy to try harder.” Josiah can be a smart cookie and put two and two together quite quickly, "...does that have anything to do with the reason you got out of bed without waking me up properly?” Properly? By effing her?" Maggie really can read her man like a book, “you want to ply me with orgasms, make me lose my mind, and hope I’ll give in to your silly plan.” I liked this book, I loved Josiah the man was all alpha.
