This is an ok book for me. I didn't hate it but it wasn't one of my favourites. I felt like I kept expecting more. The twists weren't completely surprising to me and I didn't connect with the characters. I did however enjoy the relationship between Bree and her siblings. The feelings of protectiveness and doing anything for each other were a stand out part for me.
It's quite a quick read for a psychological thriller and it felt rushed to me.

What a fantastic read. This had me turning the pages so quickly wanting to find out what happened next. Lots of twists and turns and a brilliant ending. I was trying to second guess the plot, thought I had it, only to find out I hadn't. I really warmed to Bree. She showed such maturity at a young age coming from a very dysfunctional family! I had never read anything by this author before this novel, but I certainly now want to read more. Such a great writer. Easy to read. Great storyline. Great characters. Lots of emotion. Loved the style of writing. Thank you so much for the chance to read an advance copy from netgalley.com

This book was interesting. It follows Bree as she searches for her missing 16 year old sister. The Walker family struggles financially. The mom works two jobs and Bree has been working since she was 16 to help provide for the family. After Bree and Alyssa get into a big fight, Alyssa leaves and goes missing. Who has her? Will Bree find out who and why someone took her sister?

This book definitely kept me guessing. Quick, thrilling read!

I Know You is a fast paced suspenseful read. I enjoyed the twists and turns the author puts the reader through while keeping them glued to the page.

Getting the backstory on the family was interesting and seeing how they rely on each other through thick and thin. Also the abductor wasnt predictable which I appreciated.

I’m interested to read another if this authot’s works. Read I Know You, it will keep you on the edge of your seat!

I Know You wastes no time starting off, older sister Bree discovers her younger sister Alissa has been kidnapped. We quickly learn that Bree's family is dysfunctional to say the least and half of them not even speaking after an event that is alluded to several times throughout the story. The only information Bree is given to locate her sister is to find her hot headed brother Tyler. It seems Tyler has wronged this person somehow and they will hold Alissa ransom until they have the person responsible. What could Tyler have done now? Bree hasn't seen him in well over a month.

I would not exactly describe this story as "full of suspense." Any supposed twists are not really twists at all and pretty easy to figure out, especially if you read a lot from this genre. It is a quick read, though. I never really felt a connection with any of the characters though, and I think I would have enjoyed the story more if I did. Overall, it's not a terrible read though.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an eARC of this book.

This story was an absolute page turner filled with plot twists along the way. I was hooked from the prologue (which takes place 10 years prior to the story) where we are introduced to a drunken, abusive father, an absent mother who works two jobs, and three siblings: Bree (oldest), Tyler, and Alissa, who are essentially raising themselves. Bree will do anything for Alissa, who is ten years her junior.

Fast forward 1o years, and Bree receives a text saying that she need to find her sister. Bree does any and everything, against all odds, to save her baby sister.

Will edit for full review on 16 April 2019.

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as some others I’ve read. It had my attention, but somehow the ending wasn’t as satisfying as it maybe could have been, imho.

I was lucky enough to receive an eARC from NetGalley for ‘I Know You’ by Erik Therme. When sixteen-year-old Alissa Walker goes missing, it is up to her older sister, Bree, to find her. Things get even more terrifying after Bree receives texts from an unknown number with instructions as to what she must do in order for her sister to be returned. Whilst trying to find her sister, Bree realises Alissa’s friend night know more than she is saying. It soon becomes clear that Alissa’s abductor knows some dark secrets buried deep in the Walker family history, and that their 18-year-old brother, Tyler, is somehow connected to it all.

I’ve read a fair share of thrillers, some of which were not so great, and others which were mind-blowing. ‘I Know You’ falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. The plot is interesting enough to keep reading and the fact that it’s only 217 pages makes it a quick read. I was invested enough to want to know the outcome, but not so invested that I would’ve been upset if I was spoiled. The characters are largely two-dimensional: even Bree, the MC, is hard to relate to and connect with. I saw the twists coming so they weren’t surprising or shocking; I was more disappointed I had figured it out before the reveals. I prefer thrillers where you should see the twist coming but never do. Overall, I would recommend this book to someone who is new to the thriller genre, or just wants a quick read that’ll keep their attention. And now for some of my favourite quotes!

“‘We may not have a lot, but we have each other, and that’s the most important thing. Always remember that family sticks together... no matter what.’”

“Under different circumstances the house would’ve felt picturesque - wooden siding, rock chimney, green shutters - but knowing who was waiting inside chilled Bree’s skin.”

“Whatever did happen, Bree was sure of one thing: everything had led to this moment and all the pieces were in place. For better or worse.”

Erik Therme's I Know You is a suspenseful, unsettling novel. One with lots of twists that will keep you guessing.

An amateurish attempt at trying to write a suspense novel. .Ridiculous premise, and fourth grade level of writing (I'm probably insulting fourth graders). First chapters were okay but then everything got sillier and more unbelievable. Don't waste your time reading this one,. Too many other wonderful books out there.

I do love my psychological thrillers, and there was just something about I Know You that sparked my interest when I was invited to read it. While I found myself flying through this story, I do have to confess I ended up having mixed thoughts about it. There is no doubt that I Know You has a fast pace and lots of twists that make the plot keep moving. I managed to finish it in less than a day, which is always a good sign for me with books under 350 pages... The premise of the story is very interesting as well, and I like how this isn't just another kidnapping case, but also a story about family bonds, flawed characters and mistakes. I can't put my finger exactly on the why, but the execution didn't manage to convince me completely though. Part of this feeling might have had to do with the plot, which I didn't find all that credible as a whole and the story didn't seem to flow all that naturally. What do I mean with this? Basically, I didn't feel the different scenes were connected in a way that felt credible and the plot twists didn't manage to convince me completely. I was surprised to find myself not all that invested in the story and characters, and I had a hard time staying focused at times. Which is strange in a way, because there is a lot happening to the Walker family and they sure have a heavy dose of hardship handed out to them. I think this feeling might be explained by the fact that I wasn't able to connect to the characters as much as I hoped, and I would have liked to see them more developed beyond their visible and most pressing flaws. I Know You is by no means a bad read and it has some interesting elements, but overall I ended up having mixed thoughts about it. That doesn't mean you won't enjoy it if you like a good mix of family drama and a kidnapping story though!

I Know You is a relatively short read at 221 pages, but what it lacks in pages it doesn’t lack in action, it’s what I consider to be a fast paced, quick moving thriller. The Walkers, can only be described as a “dysfunctional family”, with oldest daughter Bree being the main care provider by default for her younger brother and sister Alissa and Taylor. When Bree receives a text stating “find your sister”, the race is on to find sixteen-year-old Alissa before it is too late. Bree’s family may not win a “Family of the Year” award but they are Bree’s family, and rather like a lioness protecting her young she will do anything to safeguard her siblings, this mindset drives her on in the quest to save Alissa. Bree’s a character I really liked, she’s determined, resourceful and ballsy, and despite her difficult childhood she doesn’t allow this to define her.

The challenges Bree faces to save Alissa, move from the downright scary to the almost impossible, but here’s a character who will save her sister come hell or high water. As the story unfolds many reasons come to light, each one might be the reason Alissa has been taking, a clever ploy by the author because you find yourself constantly trying to work out why Alissa has been taken? and by whom? There is a long list of worthy suspects who come under the microscope as each one is discounted another one takes their place.

The Walker family are central to the plot and although not entirely character driven, they play a big part in the plot. I know You explores what can happen to a family who haven’t had the luxury of growing up in a stable and loving environment and the impact this has on their life’s, the good, the bad, and the damn right ugly. I wouldn’t say this book had a “heart stopping twist” yes it had plenty of twists and turns, but it lacked that “OMFG” moment I was expecting from the tagline, but never the less this book made for a quick, enjoyable read. This is the perfect thriller for those who are looking for a quick read with well-developed characters and a suspenseful plot.

3.5 Stars - This book started out really well. A drunk father, a mother working two jobs, and a sister playing “mom” to her younger sister and brother...a set up for the perfect storm. While most people would have gone off to college or, at the very least, up and left a toxic family situation, twenty-six-year-old Bree took it upon herself to continue living at home, helping provide for a family she was determined to keep together. Though her brother was often off the grid and her sister was the definition of teenage drama, Bree seemed to take it all in stride. That is until she came home one day to find Alissa’s backpack on their doorstep and a mysterious text message telling her to bring her brother Tyler in exchange for Alissa’s safety. From there, Bree makes it her mission to find both Tyler and Alissa, once again taking on the protective matriarchal role. While I found myself wanting to know how this story was going to pan out, it wasn’t as suspenseful or thrilling as I had hoped it would be. Often the “suspenseful” scenes fizzled out, and when they finally got to the bottom of who took Alissa, I thought there would be this epic scene that brought the story full circle, but it wasn’t very climatic. At that point, I was expecting a lot more drama to ensue but instead was left disappointed.

I will say the book itself and the dialogue flowed very well, and this was a quick read for me. I just wish the book had lived up to the “gripping suspense thriller” that it claimed to be.

The world is a big place but you can't simply fall off the face of the Earth and nobody notice. Or can you?
Well, you see Bree is the sis of Alissa and that's exactly what may have happened here.
Unfortunately all we have in terms of evidence is a bookbag on the steps of the trailer, and some creepy as crap texts, and oh wait...
We do have a whole host of crazies surrounding Alissa - you know blood is thicker than water- but these folks may want to be given a closer examination.
For instance, how 'bout best friend of Alissa, or that estranged uncle who stepped back into the picture, or what about Tyler (Bree's bro)....
So much finger pointing but surely someone has the answers and that someone may be closer than you think!
I mean Bree has after all truly raised Alissa after the parental neglect issues in this family so it's only natural that perhaps this is a bigger case than first imagined!
Thanks to Erik, the publisher, NetGalley, and Aldiko for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.

This was a very fast and easy read, the plot was solid. We follow Bree through her quest to find her little sister and to understand why she was taken. There are many possible reasons that come to light as we get to know this dysfunctional family. Bree must track down her brother who doesnt want to be found in order to find her sister. But can she trade her brother to the abductor in exchange for her sister? This book had well developed characters and a suspenseful plot but i found it to almost rush through the story. A Little more time could have been taken to further develop characters that were relatable and that the reader could bond with. When a reader can really bond to the characters it is a much more immersing read and i found that lacking.

Not my cup of tea. It was OK. The language was OK. The characterisation was OK. The settings were OK. The dialogue was OK. The baddie was introduced a bit late, but I coped. I read it to the end.
