He wasn’t thrilled to be auctioned off for a date he didn’t want. Taylor Jennings was a busy man and had no interest in the outcome. He was only there because it was a fundraiser for a good cause. Yet, Taylor figured he would be bid on for one of two reasons. Either they wanted to pitch a proposal to him, or they were hoping to be the next Mrs. Jennings. Except once he took his eyes off his phone, he realized the woman standing in front of him was wearing a discount gown (ewww!) so she may be thrilled to be taken out to have a special treat. He’d be willing to do that for her.

Taylor didn’t know Samantha at all.

Samantha Matthews was done with the world of wealth and luxury. She had walked away from that world and hoped to never be sucked back in. Point being, Samantha was only at the bachelor auction because her best friend asked her to bid. Except Samantha bid on the wrong billionaire. This one was a pompous jerk who was more interested in his phone. Then had the audacity to give her only thirty minutes of his time. Samantha was not going to allow that to happen. He was going to do some work. So, Samantha told him to pick her up in the morning.

Taylor’s reaction will shock you. It shocked me. That was just the beginning of the one date they promised each other.

Diane Alberts made me laugh out loud as Samantha and Taylor learn they have more in common than what they originally thought. That date sure brought Taylor back to earth. Laughter is indeed the best medicine!

I had fun reading this book, Taylor and Sam are the opposites in the business world, but together they are hot. I really enjoyed the idea of the never ending first date. It gave them time to really get to know one another, and once they did whoo these two are great together. They are two people who do not believe in relationships, but they can't walk away from one another. Sam has a big heart and is willing to give to people she does not know. I loved how she saw a family struggling in a diner and offered to pay for their hot cocoa and ice cream. This was my first book by this author and I plan on reading other books by her.

Interesting read! Samantha has worked her entire adult life to give back to the community after the incident that happened with her family as a teenager. She feels that she owes the less fortunate everything and works to do so every spare second she has. In doing a favor for her friend, she accidentally bids on the wrong man and wins a date with Taylor, a wealth and arrogant billionaire, and decides in order to teach him a lesson she will take him to her volunteer spots in order to watch him squirm. However, the surprise is on Samantha when she finds out that Taylor previously did volunteer work himself, as he was previously less fortunate and has worked hard for everything he has. The bulk of this book was him trying to get her to give him a chance, and her having such a hard time with his wealth. Overall though, it was an enjoyable read and they got the HEA they both deserved.

An Accidental Date with a Billionaire was a fun, sexy and entertaining read I enjoyed greatly.

Samantha stuffed up when she “won” a date with the wrong bachelor, and instead of rescuing her best friend’s brother she ends up with some random jerk CEO who couldn’t even bother to look up from his phone. When he basically writes her off, her pride dictates she teaches the a-hole a lesson and promptly sets up a date to make him suffer.

Taylor finds himself intrigued by Samantha’s apparent lack of interest in him. When their early date turns out to be working construction for Habitat for Humanity, he realizes he might have been completely off in his first impression of her. Similarly, Samantha’s expectation of how their “date” would progress is completely shattered when it turns out Taylor not only knows his way around a construction site but has actually worked with Habitat for Humanity before.

Taylor and Samantha share incredible chemistry and are soon trying to fight the pull. The more time they spend together, the more difficult it becomes to ignore their connection. But neither wants a relationship, and they’re totally wrong for each other, they’re just too different to even bother. Or are they?

I really liked both Taylor and Samantha. She was hardworking, strong and had an iron will. I struggled a bit with her insistence to ignore her feelings and how she kept at her self-imposed punishment. Taylor was a fantastic hero. He starts off as an inconsiderate jerk, sexy as hell sure, but a total ass. As we begin to know him and his feelings for Samantha shake up his uber-organized life, his softer, more playful side comes out to play and it was just awesome.

With some struggles, an epic eff-up and some seriously good groveling, An Accidental Date with a Billionaire had sweet romance, funny butt-heading, and sexy as hell shenanigans. While I was not completely blown away, it kept me smiling and I had a great time reading it.

This was just okay. From the blurb I thought this was going to be my kind of story. Mix up at bachelor auction, and fun things ensue. That didn't happen for me. Taylor was made to be a jerk at first, but that really only lasts for the first chapter. Sam was rude and judgemental, and that didn't change for pretty much the whole book. I wasn't a fan of hers, and I really wasn't sure why she stayed with Taylor if she hated everything he stood for. They do get their HEA, but only after Taylor pretty much changes his whole business so Sam won't hate it. I think it's not really fair for one person to change everything, and the other to compromise nothing. Although I wasn't a huge fan of this one, I would give this author another read.

This is a book from a new to me author. Whilst it wasn’t my favourite book of 2019, it was still an enjoyable enough read in the moment — but not memorable enough to stick with me unfortunately. That being said I did enjoy the reading experience as I went along, and found the story engaging and interesting overall. The characters felt a little wooden, though the male was extremely appealing. It was a fun, well written story with a unique presence — definitely an ideal quick, lighthearted read!

Such a fun take on the Billionaire romance--I love the concept of a never-ending first date.

The blurb sounds interesting but the actual book is quite boring. I didn't get some of the banter/reactions between the H/h, although there were some parts that had me laughing out loud. Sorry but I DNF'd this after Chapter 3. Thanks for the review copy.

How funny. Doing a good deed for a friend winds you up having a date with the wrong guy. Being handsome and rich isn’t something I would complain or worry about unless you have something about rich people. Interesting idea. Enjoyed the story.

Samantha Taylor came from a wealthy family who did a lot of harm to other people, so she tries to make for that by helping others constantly, plus she's turned her back on anything having to do with her family or money. And that's how she found herself at a charity auction, however, she was supposed to bid on her best friend's brother, but she accidentally won the wrong man. Sam actually won a very rigid CEO named Taylor, who is busy on his phone when she's trying to tell him that he doesn't have to worry about going out with her. Obviously, things don't start out great, and she decides to teach him a lesson as he comes across as an arrogant rich playboy. What she ends up with is the never ending first date that turns into some super sexy times that light the sheets on fire. Yeah, Taylor is more than what he portrays, but Sam still isn't one who wants to do anything past a first date, which is why Taylor keeps the date going. And that made for a very frustrating push & pull that had me ready to pull my hair out. However, will he still be interested in her when he finds out who her family is? It's the question that kept me on the edge of my seat, but you'll just have to read it for yourselves to find out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A cute, light read--just don't think about things too much or too hard while reading... ;)

An Accidental Date with a Billionaire had a cute premise--bidding on the wrong guy at a bachelor auction--though it did bring up some unanswered questions (why didn't she at least look at a picture of the guy she was supposed to "win"? Wouldn't her best friend have had at least one pic of her brother on social media, at least? And how did Sam manage to pay for her bid--she fully expected the bachelor to pay for her when she made it--when she kept herself on such a tight budget?) I really enjoyed how both Sam and Taylor were forced to re-think their first impressions of each other as they got to know each other better and that there was so much more to both of them than appeared on the surface--Taylor especially had a lot more going for him than that arrogant guy standing on the auction stage seemed to.

That same thing that I liked about him ended up being a bit of a problem, though--I mean, other than acting like a bit of a jerk in his first scene, Taylor basically had no flaws at all. Seriously, other than the fact that he was *only* actively participating in a single charity when they met (though OMG, the throwaway comment much later on that tells us just how involved he is...) he's pretty darn perfect. Yeah, he ends up making a change in how he runs his business thanks to his relationship with Sam, but I wasn't 100% convinced that he really needed to...it just seemed like a little "extra" for a guy who was already bordering on OTT fabulous. (Even Sam seems to think his main flaw is being rich--not what he does with it, or even how he got it, but the fact that he has money.)

Sam, on the other hand, has dedicated her life to two things: self-sacrifice to make up for her family's history, and hiding that history from the world. Her rigidity as an adult (no relationships, no society events, no extra cash hanging around, ever--she gives whatever she doesn't need to charity) felt like it was all a bit much. Maybe it's just because I've never moved in society circles, but her insistence that going to a single event would "out" her to the world and ruin Taylor as well just seemed...silly. I was glad they got over it in the end; the fact that they did so so easily pretty much proves that the concern wasn't really warranted, though.

If you're looking for a light, cute HEA read, look no further--just don't read too closely or ask too many questions (like he got her 5 different sizes of clothes, but did he get her shoes? and the big one--what happened to her cat after Sam left their "date" and then came back???)

A bit middling

The premise of this book sounded like the perfect romance novel concept - girl bids on wrong billionaire at bachelor auction and confusion and irritation soon turns to love and romance. Every part of me swooned.

So we have our heroine - Sam - and she bids on our hero - xxx - as promised and we’re off to a great start. And then he’s slightly rude to her. And I mean slightly. There’s no arrogant, alpha billionaire thing going on here. He’s just a bit rude. Not saying it’s right - but he didn’t run over her puppy or anything.

And so Sam spends the first 1/3 of the book being an absolute cow to him. She’s judging him for his minor rudeness, her preconceived feelings about him because he’s rich and little else. Oh, and because of his job of doing the same thing Richard Gere did in Pretty Woman. And because she - somehow (I didn’t really care to try and figure it out) is in the opposing side of his business. Yet xxx is such a sweetheart to her. He’s quiet, kind and seemingly desperate for her to like him for some inexplicable reason.

So at this stage I’m not very fond of Sam and xxx is hardly ringing my sexy, take-charge, arrogant, billionaire alpha bells. Hmmmm.

The pair go on their date that they manage to keep extending as she doesn’t do second dates and he doesn’t do relationships. Sigh. But the concept of ‘the date only ends when I take you home’ - so I’m not taking you home - was adorable. If someone said that to me I’d be putty in their hands.

The story meandered along nicely. The writing was good and I was engrossed in the book and never left it sitting for long. Yet, there were so many, I don’t want to say ‘clichés’ (probably because I love a good cliché), but plot points that were used with a distinct lack of subtly. We had the moment our couple were in a restaurant and the heroine decides to anonymously buy a hard-up family dessert just so our hero could marvel at her caring side. And then when he ordered a background report on the heroine and then decided not to read it. Can you guess at what happened next? More sighs. And when xxx decides to reject the practices that made him a billionaire - and instead comes around to Sam’s way of thinking by going into business with the failing company. And of course this allowed Sam to see he really was a good guy. There were just too many of these instances for my liking - too many tried and tested things just stuck into the story that ended up sticking out like a sore thumb and making me grumpy!

Overall I feel like I’ve been a little too harsh on a story that was ultimately quite readable and very non-offensive. It’s unlikely to set your world - or anything else - on fire, but it’s a decent enough read to while away a few hours. Just 3 stars from me.

This book was hot and funny from rhe start. I wasn't able to put it down. I loved the dynamics and how this book was fast but satisfying.

A beautifully written book with enough drama, heat and romance to keep anyone entertained! I really like Taylor, though he was written perfectly for Sam. Sam sometimes needs a little shake but otherwise I really liked their story and how they get to their HEA! Love this author which is why I picked this book up and she will always be a go to author for this type of genre. Totally recommend

A lighhearted romance you can finish in an hour. I liked it but I didn't love it; I just didn't like the characters and their obstacles and problems. It was a bit too on the nose for me...people can be charitable and still like money, just saying. But I did enjoy reading this,

Truly enjoyed this book. entertaining plot, characters I actually liked, and a satisfying ending. looking forward to reading any future books in this series.

I liked the pace of this story and i liked Taylor, however Samantha was not my kind of character. Sam was too quick to judge people with money like Sam even if she pushed herself to do as much charity work and help others as possible.

Taylor is a man that has come from very humble origins and has built his way into a fortune and a very successful business, he is always kind and he always seems to be apologising to Sam and thinking that she is better than him.

Sam is at an auction for a friend in order to bid on her brother, however a mix up means she bids on the wrong man. Considering how we find out how she gives her money to charity it is a wonder to how she has the money to pay for the bid. Sam has definitely not moved on from her past and brings her baggage along with her into the beginning of the time with Taylor. It is Taylor who bends and twists the most to keeps the relationship going along.

We get a good and optimistic ending with a HEA. with both characters growing and releasing some of their baggage.
