This is a great idea book for new knitters with limited stitch knowledge or a person who has been knitting for a while but likes the simplicity and texture the garter stitch has to offer. With the resurging interest in knitting, this book provides great ideas for creating knitted outfits for babies. That also makes it a wonderful gift idea for a knitter who may be looking for some additional patterns for their repertoire.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book that was provided by the publisher through Net Galley. However, the thoughts and opinions presented here are my own.

I was given the opportunity to preview this book with a digital ARC from the publisher and Netgalley. I was not compensated for my feedback and all opinions are my own.

As an intermediate level knitter, I have read quite a few knitting books to find patterns that would be fairly quick and just the right level of challenging. I think that One Stitch Baby Knits may actually be my favorite one so far. The patterns are well written and create very cute garments and baby accessories that are anything but boring with cute appliques and charming little details. I am eager for one my friends to have a little girl so I can make the pinafore and kimono sets. It is obvious that a lot of love went into creating the patterns for this book.

Pierce's love of knitting is also apparent in the section before the patterns, were she outlines knitting basics, tips for techniques utilized throughout the book, and most importantly for US knitters, a conversion and glossary to translate Australian knitting terms and abbreviations to the American knitting equivalent. This is key for success with the patterns throughout the book, and I greatly appreciated that Pierce had the foresight to include.

I loved the patterns in this book! It was a hard choice to pick just a few of the patterns for the baby showers & new babies in our family. The new moms loved the outfits and will cherish them. Thanks!

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. One-Stitch Baby Knits is a collection of 22 easy to intermediate level garter stitch baby patterns by Val Pierce. The patterns are well written and the instruction clear and concise. Some of the photos seem quite small but then I read the ebook version on an iPad mini so I assume they will be larger in the print version. The technique instructions are good for right handed knitters but if you are a lefty like me I would look for another source for technique instructions. I would recommend this book for beginning knitters. Publishing Date June 10. 2019 #NetGalley #OneStitchBabyKnits #ValPierce #FoxChapel Publishing #IMMLifestyleBooks

I have downloaded this because come the end of May, my extended family is going to welcome a new member and I thought there is no better way to do that than by equipping them with warm and cozy things to wear.

This lovely book features so many cute designs, with a great variety of clothes and accessories.

It starts with a beginners must-have description of tools, materials and techniques one needs to know to make these super easy but gorgeous pieces. It features lovely photos and detailed descriptions.

I can't wait to make the bunny ear hat! I hope the little one will love it 😳

What a cute book of baby knits! The projects in this book are simple enough for a determined beginner but hold a decent amount of visual interest. Everything is worked flat and in garter stitch, for those who are not into purling or circular knitting. It would be easy for more experienced knitters to adjust these patterns and add in some visual interest that may have been sacrificed for simplicity. I probably wouldn't make anything in this book more than once, but definitely see the value in a collection of easy baby knits!

One-Stitch Baby Knits is a great book for who are learning how to knit. There are excellent photographs depicting the steps and lessons. As you move along through the book the projects get progressively more advanced. There is no shaping and no necklines. There are 22 delightful items for baby. If knitting has tickled your crafty side this book is a good way to start. Nicely done.

This gem of a book contains delightful option after option for gifts using only garter stitch. Even better than the fact that they make use of only one stitch, is the fact that they are downright adorable and gift-able. Because the projects are small, they are perfect for beginning knitters to practice with, without too great an investment in time or yarn costs.

This book is full of cute, easy patterns for babies all using the garter stitch (no purling!). Pictures are good, instructions are clear. I have added several to my "to knit" list.

Great book! The directions were clear. I loved the pictures as well as the fact that there were different levels of knitting patterns. Though I have never made one, this book gives me the confidence to try and knit a baby sweater (Striped Yoke Cardigan). I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Most everyone who knits enjoys knitting for babies. I know that whenever I had a friend who was pregnant I would immediately try to figure out a great hand-made knit for the new baby. "One-Stitch Baby Knits" by Val Pierce is a great go-to book for baby knits. And if you are new to knitting it has very good instructions on a ton of knitting terms and techniques. This book would be a great addition to a knitter's library.

One-stitch baby Knits by Val Pierce is beautifully presented, with lovely clear pictures throughout. The patterns only use garter stitch and minimal shaping, so are perfect for beginners, or for people that haven’t knitted for a while - full instructions on how to knit, on the increases and creases used in the patterns, and how to choose yarns and work out your gauge so you’ll be happy with your finished item are included at the start of the book, so you should be able to knit any of the patterns even if your knitting skills are a little rusty.

The book contains lots of lovely basic projects. All would make lovely gifts for a new baby. There’s good variety, with blankets, booties, some clothing and some accessories. There are some gorgeous designs featuring cute appliqué features, such as a teddy face, a sailboat and a cow face.

Only drawback is that there is only one size given for most patterns - these really are small baby patterns. There are a few sizes offered for the striped raglan cardigan, but no indication if roughly what age child that might correspond to, which could be a problem if you’re not familiar with babies.

In summary, this book would be a good choice for someone who hasn’t knitted for a while, but is expecting a new arrival in the family.

This knitting book would be perfect for a beginner, with simple patterns that only require one type of stitch. From easy patterns like a baby bib up to intermediate and more experienced patterns like a baby cardigan, this book has a variety of cute projects both small and large. If you only have a few hours, you could knit up some sweet baby booties in a flash! Or if you have time for a larger project, you could try one of the adorable sweater and hat combinations.

With clear instructions and photos to illustrate the stitches, this book is easy to follow and full of information.
I really like the beautiful colors and sweet details on each knitting project!

Baby knits are so cute! There are some really neat designs in this book. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or expert knitter, there are projects in here for every skill level. My personal favorite is the Cow's Head applique. I haven't tried to knit any of these projects yet but the instructions are pretty straightforward and similar to other patterns that I've knitted.

This wasn't quite as good as I expected. Some of the patterns (especially the cow set on the cover) were very cute, but I didn't find the other patterns to be items I was interested in making. This would be a good book for those just starting to knit or who were looking to master different stitches.

Facili e adorabili: una combinazione vincente, che fa di questo libro un aiuto prezioso per chi sta imparando a sferruzzare. E regala una miniera di idee per pensieri piccoli e grandi, fatti col cuore, a chi ha in casa un pupo.

A very useful book of knitting patterns for babies with lovely photographs to get an aspiring knitter inspired.. Easy to follow patterns and a section at the beginning depicting basic skills to get started. I do a small amount of knitting for the local maternity unit as they always want blankets and other items for newborns in the special care unit which the mothers are then allowed to keep. My own granddaughter was in special care and has a lovely blanket which was knitted by friends of the hospital so I am certainly going to use the blanket patterns (especially the one with the 3 little faces at the top - delightful) to create blankets for this use as a way of the thanking the unit for the care given. Some of the patterns are just delightful plus being practical, not sure about the knitted dribble bibs though. I will be busy with my needles.
