Great read. Well-developed characters. Easy to follow storyline with low drama. Would highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to pass a couple of hours.

I have chosen not to read/review this title as I was not able to connect with it or recommend it to the readers of our blog page or those who follow my reviews on Goodreads.

I apologize for the delay in this, as sending the negative reviews is something I (clearly) avoid doing for an embarrassingly long time.

Thank you, as always, for the review title.

I wanted to enjoy this story but there were just too many flaws. There are already a handful of reviews already stating such, so I won't waste my breath going into too much detail. The bottom line is that the characters are just awful and the plot is poorly written and pretty much nonexistent which I could accept in an erotica had the sex scenes been worth it. But they weren’t. I also didn’t feel any heat between the leads. You can’t just have two people have sex and it be erotic.

I forced myself to finish this book, and let me tell you it was a struggle.

I didn't feel any connection beyond a sexual attraction between Hugo and Alice. We're supposed to believe that she suddenly trusts this biker that her dad instructed to guard her, even though she's sworn off bikers and that world.

Let's talk about the big plan on how Troy and Hugo were going to get in with the rival club. They had no plan! There's no discussion beyond Hugo going to the bar where Alice's dad and his members hang out. Suddenly his daughter is there (did they not know she existed? Come on!) and a plan is formulated on how to get "in" with the club. What was the original plan?

Alice annoyed the crap out of me. We're supposed to believe that she's this strong, independent woman who wants nothing to do with the world she was raised in. Yet all she does is whine and go running when daddy calls. She's so easily manipulated by Hugo it's sickening. I could understand the submissive side of her in the bedroom, if we saw the strong/independent side in other areas - but we never do!

It really seemed like a book of porn with an attempted story line. Though, even the sex scenes were weak. They read as very textbook and the dialogue was often cold.

If you like quick reads and MC books then this is just the book for you. This was my first read by the obviously talented Cathleen Ross and I'll definitely be looking up some more books by her. In this book the lead male character Hugo has made it out of war and ready to move on but first he has to repay a debt to another soldier. Which leads him to a motorcycle club he has to go undercover in. He wasnt planning on having to play bodyguard to the mans daughter, Alice though. And she wants nothing to do with the MC life. She has other plans for her life like treating patients as a nurse. After some events life for her becomes uncertain. All the danger throws her and Hugo together in and out of bed. This book has everything I love including suspense, danger, twists and turns that will catch you off guard, sex, love and just all the feels. I cant wait for more books like this by the talanted author.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the audience for this book is not the USA. Half of the things said in it make no sense to someone from Louisiana. It's a great story, but to be more authentic the characters should sound like their local dialect rather than sounding like they're from elsewhere. I did enjoy the story and the steamy sex scenes, but being from the south I really noticed the strange wording... Like I said, it's a good story, but could be better with some research or by sticking to what's familiar. The corrections would be simple and wouldn't affect the story. I wouldn't want to change any of that.......

Very well written. I'm not normally a fan of biker stories, but I quickly became engrossed in the story due to the writing skills of the author and good editing. The ending was a little unbelievable for me, but I guess I read romance for the escape from reality, so it was still enjoyable.
Thanks to NetGalley for the review copy. The opinions expressed are my own.

I really loved this book. I was constantly on the edge of my seat while reading, constantly wanting to know what’s going to happen next!! The plot was well written and well planned and the characters were so strongly written that I was totally blown away and was glued to my kindle until the turn of the very last page. Definitely be looking this author up in the future as this is the first book I’ve had the pleasure of reading but won’t be the last. Absolutely recommend

This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a stand-alone. Hugo is a soldier and made a deathbed promise to a friend. Now he must get on the inside of an MC and take down it’s president. What will happen when he falls for the MC president’s daughter? Entertaining MC read; great characters just seemed a bit rushed. I liked it.

Hugo, a Special Forces member, needs to fulfill a debt. Of course, that means infiltrating a dangerous MC and stopping an illegal weapons shipment and ensuring the president of it goes to prison. Sounds like a huge favor, right? Well, considering the man who asked saved Hugo's life, there really isn't much Hugo wouldn't do for him. And then he meets Alice, said president's daughter...

With the life she was born into, Alice has craved the stability of a future with a normal guy...she just hasn't met him yet. Then she's introduced to her new bodyguard, and she starts to realize normal may be too boring for her.

These two shouldn't work, but they perfectly balance the other out. The only question is whether what they've found together is just tenporary. And why does Alice need a bodyguard? How will she react when the reason Hugo is there is revealed? Can they move past the deceit to a HEA?

One-click now and follow along as two people meet under unusual circumstances and find love.

I was intrigued by the description of Right and Ready, my first book by Cathleen Ross. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this book.. The main character Alice was not someone I could connect with, her demeanor right from the start was childish and unappealing. And while Hugo is hot, his behavior is not redeemable. Further, the nature if his sexual fantasies and needs really should come with a trigger warning, it was not something I could support.

I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book, all opinions are my own. Thanks for the ARC.

I received this book as an arc from Netgalley.

The one thing that had me confused from the beginning was the extreme change in demeanor from Alice. From when they meet at the bar to the time when they are in her apartment it is like she is a different character. I also found some of the word choice for their conversations to be a little over the top.

This is a fast-moving easy read. A lot of steamy love scenes. It was a little typical the female character trusted this guy real quick. But he did sound delicious. This one takes a few hours to read so it a nice getaway when you have time for something fast.

I'd never read anything by this author before so I was curious about her writing and pulled in by the description of the the book. Although I liked the characters and basically enjoyed the story, I feel like it moved a little too quickly and more details could have been added. I would definitely like to read more by Cathleen Ross if given the opportunity. Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to review this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Alice, daughter of a motorcycle club president, has worked hard in attempts to disassociate herself from her father’s criminal activities. She works as a nurse and has suffered prejudice due to his notoriety. Hugo is employed to protect her after her mother is severely injured in a hit and run. Hugo has secrets but is drawn to Alice and her gentle ways. They appear an unlikely match but are combustible.

This book was kind of good. It wasn’t anything bad per se.

The characters were interesting, engaging and had a boatload of chemistry.

However, I thought it was a little fast. Not in terms of the time frame for the characters’ relationship. More towards how the book was paced. I am totally fine with those binge reads but some binge reads don’t feel like that’s what they are. This one did.

It just didn’t suck me in.

I also couldn’t connect with either character.

Sometimes the feelings and thoughts would be way too abrupt.

When Hugo went to confront his past, it was very abrupt and not at all what I think would have been realistic.

Alice was also going back and forth on her emotions and her thinking and not in a way that say, I would do. I am known in my family for teeter tottering, going back and forth on things. But Alice was doing more than that.

Her father also lost his character several times. Going back on his word and so on. I couldn’t think about it too much as I was reading otherwise I would have thrown the tablet across the room.

While the story was fine for a weekend, beach read, it just wasn’t that enjoyable.

Although I read this from start to finish, I wasn't able to really connect with either MC. The dialogue was probably the biggest hurdle for me. The things that both MCs said at times seemed really over the top, forced and at times, down right cartoony.

It has potential and to the right audience this could be a good read, I just don't think it was geared for me.

Interesting sexy read for adults. Hot and steamy. Short but well written. Read in one sitting.
And nice cover, too.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Yuk! What a waste of time. This book was so....I don’t know what to say without being downright mean. The plot was ridiculous and the dialogue was so juvenile I thought my brain cells would die. I guess that is all I can say.

Received an ARC through the publisher through NetGalley. Wish I could give it back!
