One summer to escape ended up with getting closer to her half sisters and meeting the neighbor next door that made her believe in second chances. Fighting against the attraction could not be helped and finally letting go of the padst could heal them both. This is a story about making mistakes and seeking redemption by making a difference.

I have chosen not to read/review this title as I was not able to connect with it or recommend it to the readers of our blog page or those who follow my reviews on Goodreads.

I apologize for the delay in this, as sending the negative reviews is something I (clearly) avoid doing for an embarrassingly long time.

Thank you, as always, for the review title.

Dnf @ 16%

I am really sad to DNF this book. I really liked the description of the book because it sounded so good. Going into it, it was fine, I didn't mind it. Towards the 16% mark, things were very repetitive, slow and already insta-lovey. I felt myself getting lost and drifting off into my own thoughts while trying to read because it wasn't holding my attention like I wanted. Sadly, this is going into my pile of DNF'd books of 2019.

An excellent, emotional, HEA read! This book is character driven. I loved Vaughn and Kendall. And the secondary characters are just as strong and just as important.
Vaughn is a model/actor on the rise. Kendall is doing her best to stay out of any spotlight due to a tragedy in her past.
When they meet their is an instant attraction but Kendall fights it for as long as she can. Then she excepts that what they’ll have is a wonderful summer fling. She knows it will hurt when the summer is over but the attraction is more than just physical for either of them.
As the story between Vaughn and Kendall develops so do the secondary storylines.
This book deals with some difficult but very real problems. But it does so in a non-preachy way.
Great read! I highly recommend this book!

This was okay for me. I had a hard time getting into the story. The writing flowed okay, but it just didn't grab my attention like I would have liked. Vaughn was a good guy, and Kendall was okay. Kendall's sisters are introduced in this story, and I didn't like them at first. I'm not sure why they disliked Kendall so much. I was happy to see they improve their relationship as the story goes on. While Vaughn and Kendall were okay together, it wasn't a love story that will stick with me. The was a first for me from these authors, but I would be willing to read them again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I didn't like Kendall because she was too wishy washy and I didn't like Vaughn from the get go. i seriously considered DNFing. but I felt like I had to finish it. Also, I was hoping it would somehow get better

***I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing and authors Robin Bielman and Samanthe Beck.***

Promise Me is by authors Robin Bielman and Samanthe Beck. Kendall is spending the summer in SoCal, hoping to figure out whether law school is the next step in her life. It’s clear upon her arrival that her aunt tricked both her and her 2 step sisters, all of whom were told they were house sitting. She also meets her aunt’s sexy neighbor when she saves him from being run over. She’s not interested in a fling, summer or otherwise, at least at first. She’s dealing with enough demons. The problem is Vaughn won’t let up. He’s sweet and considerate and patient and understanding, and Kendall’s finding him incredibly hard to resist. Of course, Vaughn comes with his own set of baggage, and Kendall’s not sure she wants to deal with the limelight.

Kendall and Vaughn were likeable, though I found it hard to relate to either. Normally I enjoy the back-and-forth between love interests, but in this case, it was a little too much. It made Kendall seem wishy-washy. Many reviewers thought the world of Vaughn, but I found myself occasionally irritated by frequently sexualized thoughts. It made his feelings and intentions harder to trust. Both characters were good people who were traumatized to varying degrees by tragedies in their pasts and dysfunctional relationships with their families. Truth be told, I enjoyed the growing bond between Kendall and her sisters at least as much as the romance in this book.

I did enjoy the story arc where Kendall struggled with Vaughn’s notoriety. It made sense and was very believable. I had trouble with her guilty feelings regarding her past. For me, they seemed a bit overdone, ever present and unusually controlling. That’s not to say her past wasn’t traumatizing. It certainly was. More that I had trouble reconciling the strength and predominance of that guilt with Kendall choosing to get involved with Vaughn in the first place. I also wish the story wasn’t quite so perfectly wrapped up. I found myself wondering if our couple would have been able to make it otherwise.

Bad boy actor meets sensitive but troubled girl next door and sparks fly.

Sounds cliche, but #PromiseMe turned out to be a sweet and steamy love story that also dealt with a serious issue and it's devastating consequences.

I didn't expect to have much sympathy for the actor, Vaughn, since he seemed to have it all -- looks, money, women, and a career. But, as he shares his POV, it's clear that he doesn't really have control and his career needs the boost if he could get a specific gig as host of a top show.

Similarly, Kendall has her life mapped out for her and she feels out of control after a poor decision on her part left her boyfriend in a coma.

So, in spite of their mutual baggage, there is so much chemistry between Vaughn and Kendall that it seems inevitable their worlds collide, and the very private Kendall is left exposed. This is where the story choked me up, sigh.

I kept rooting for the two of them to figure it all out, and the story does not disappoint!

"Why is it so much easier to let harmful opinions bother us, rather than allow good ones to lift us up?"

This was a fun, sexy, and surprisingly emotional read , it's the first book from this authors and I can say for sure I'm going to try more!

4 stars!
I loved this book. I am a huge fan of both Samanthe Beck & Robin Bielman's book, so this was going to be a no brainer that I would love this one. And the best part, this seems to be a series!!

I love most of Entangled tiles but Promise Me didn't do it for me. I couldn't connect with the characters and the story dragged too much.

I absolutely fell in love with this book! I don’t know how the authors were able to write together but I’m so glad they did. I’m a HUGE fan of Samanthe Beck and now I must add her co-author to my list of favorites. This book showed wonderful character development. I’m super excited because I can expect there will be two more books to follow (I hope!).

I love Samanthe Beck and I’ve been wanting to read Robin Bielman’s books. I thought this sounded good but I’m just not connecting with the characters.

I don’t have an issue with Vaughn. He’s the reason why I kept reading as long as I did. It was Kendall that bugged me. She has this deep dark secret that haunts her but it seems to be all her character is about. That subplot consumes her identity and doesn’t allow much room for growth. The storyline is dragged out and I’m not sure if it’s to build tension in terms of the romance but I just thought her wishy washy attitude towards Vaughn was frustratingly repetitive. After halfway through the story, it felt like I had read the same scene at least three times and the narrative started to feel like a broken record. It got to the point where I just didn’t care what happened next because I was so frustrated with the first half of the book.

As much as I wanted to love this, it was too unnecessarily angsty and dragged out Kendall’s secret for far too long. It was a DNF for me and, as such, I won’t be able to give it a positive review.

Love this duo!! These two authors wrote so well together, a book seamlessly written . This is a sweet, fiery love story between to very guarded individuals. A sweet girl with a bit of a past and a male model with secrets of his own. The romance is fast paced and the story keeps a hold on you. I fell for the characters and loved the storyline. Trust is the hardest thing. It takes so much sometimes to let your walls down and let someone in. That one question, Can I trust you? Great story about love and trust. I read this in one sitting and truly enjoyed it.

Promise me is an incredible story about forgiveness, sex, love and romantic gestures. The backstory to Promise Me is sad and heartbreaking but is beautifully written. With a strong but sensitive male character that can recognize his feelings, Vaughn is the perfect dream guy. This story has some humor that will make you laugh and some very swoon worthy scenes. Promise Me by Robin Bielman and Samanthe Beck is a great 5-star read.
Kendall Hewitt is spending the summer house sitting for her aunt in L.A. Little does Kendall know that her two half-sisters are also spending the summer there and Kendall would just as soon run into a burning building then spend time with the girls that have always hated her. Kendall saves the beautiful male model next door from being run over and the chemistry is overwhelming. Vaughn Shaughnessy is enamored with the blonde haired, blue eyes girl that saved his life. She is everything that is not normal for L.A.; smart, caring, kind and compassionate. As Vaughn and Kendall get closer, the truth of her devastating past comes to light, and all Vaughn’s agents and PR people see is trouble. Vaughn is ready to throw away a big chance at his career if only he can get Kendall to see that his promises are real.

Wow, Promise Me is a fantastic story for first time co-writers Robin Bielman and Samantha Beck. It has laugh out loud moments but also some heartache that affects both main characters, Vaughn and Kendall.

Kendall Hewitt is housesitting for her aunt - she is going through a transition in her life and the summer away is a good time for her to think about it is she really wants. She also has to take care of Snowflake a Pomeranian who thinks she is a big dog and when walking her that's when it happens. Kendall meets her summer next door neighbor Vaughn Shaughnessy - a model and even sexier than his picture hanging in Times Square. Vaughn is also persistent and really wants to get to know Kendall but she knows that can never happen. Her past will hurt him and his career and her heart.

Vaughn knows he needs to get to know his beautiful next-door neighbor - especially since she saved him from a certain death. The problem is that every time he turns around Kendall puts up another wall and he is not sure why. All Vaughn knows that he will do whatever it takes to show Kendall she is worth it - even if it is just for the summer.

I first have to say I am a huge Robin Bielman fan and that's what drew me into Promise Me initially and now I am loving Samantha Beck. Promise Me is a great story that has great dialog, characters, and storyline. I didn't find it cliche which can be typical when one of the characters is famous - I loved that Vaughn is just starting his career and has some great opportunities while Kendall is finding her way. The secondary characters are also fantastic - Kendall and her sisters I loved their backstory along with Vaughn and his roommates/best friends. I definitely think this is not the last time we will see a story by these great authors.
