A Patchwork of Clues is an amazing debut to a brand new cozy mystery series! I adore this genre and am always looking for something different. This one hit the mark! I enjoyed Sally's writing style, the way she brought her characters to life, and the intriguing mystery (I also learned a bit about quilting!). I highly recommend this one!

Po Paltrow and her eclectic group of friends are bound together in many ways, the common bond, being quilting. Just like the author's knitting series, this one focuses on a sisterhood of ladies, each different, but with common goals. In addition to quilting, their innate curiosity makes them great amateur sleuths. Love the strong characters, like your own circle of friends, the lovely descriptive settings, and the really good, "who done it". Can't wait for the next segment. Solid 5++ stars.

Crafting mysteries are a favorite of mine and A Patchwork of Clues didn't disappoint! I enjoyed the characters, mystery and the quilting theme!

When Po (Portia Paltrow) and her group of quilters, tackle the murder of a beloved college faculty member, the adventure begins! I loved the range in ages, backgrounds and quilting experience in the book. There is a character for every reader - my favorite was Po, a "60 something" writer who serves as the center of the group and loves to jog and enjoy life. She's smart, kind and someone you'd want for a best friend..

The book is, to me, the definition of a cozy mystery - a story that keeps you reading, a smart main character, a group of unique and equally curious friends, a beautiful small town locale and atmosphere that makes you want to visit!

I'm looking forward to another project with the Crestwood quilting group!

I received an ARC from NetGalley for a fair and honest review of this book.

I've enjoyed Sally Goldenbaum's knitting series, but as I want to learn to quilt this one's description really intrigued me, and it's a wonderful beginning to a new series with the hallmarks of her other one. Well written, strong characters with a great friendship and a passion for quilt making. A great mystery that doesn't resolve until the end. Looking forward to the next and so much more.

A Patchwork of Clues by Sally Goldenbaum is the first in a series of mysteries under “ A Queen Bees Quilt Shop Mystery”.
This is the beginning of what I feel will be a great cozy mystery series.
This novel presents a group of several, strong female characters that are all different, yet all bonded together by the passion (some moreso then others in reference to Kate) of quiltmaking.
I love the different personalities of the characters Kate, Po, Maggie, Eleanor, Leah, Phoebe, Selma, and Susan. I feel like they all mesh well, and are likeable characters, and that many novels could be developed based on the nuances and complexities presented with each character.
I thouroughly enjoyed the premise and the mystery did not truly reveal itself until the end, which was also enjoyable.

A great read with 5/5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this in return for my honest review.

I have been a fan of Sally Goldenbaum's knitting series from the very first book. Learning that there's now a new series thrills me to pieces. A Patchwork of Clues is a delight, and I am already impatiently tapping my toe for the next in the series. Ms. Goldman's talent for making a reader feel a scene is huge. Her descriptive narrative is welcoming and lovely. Her characters all well-drawn and believable. I can't wait to sit down around the quilting table with all of them once again.

I am a huge fan of Sally Goldenbaum's Seaside Knitters series so I was very interested in seeing this new quilting series and now I am just as delighted with the new cast of characters. Portia "Po" Paltrow is out for her morning run when she finds the murdered body of local art history professor and wealthy antique store owner Owen Hill in the quilting shop of her good friend Selma Parker. While the local police believe this was a burglary gone wrong, the quilters can't believe anyone would be looking to rob a fabric store when there were so many richer pickings available. They look into who else would have wanted to see Owen dead, and the women manage to figure out the reason for the crime. While the mystery plot was well developed, it was the friendship between the quilters, women of all different ages who share the same passion that makes this such a special book and makes me look forward to getting to know them better in future volumes.
