If you’re looking for a fast and easy read that is also heartwarming, then Coming Back is the book for you. The book is about Julie, who survived a terrible automobile accident that left her with a severe PTSD. Her psychiatrist recommends a comfort animal, to which she chooses a horse.

Training a horse is a new experience for Julie, but she is determined. She overcomes many obstacles in her road to recovery or survival.

This would be a great read for pre-teenagers and young adults. The book could certainly use more details as I feel it left the plot weak. Understanding that it was intentionally short, more details within the body of the story and the ending would have made it even better.

3 Stars - It is a good read.

I love how this story shows a character and how she has to learn how to live with her PTSD, her fear, depression and flashbacks. Her bond with her horse is loving and healing and despite her ups, and mostly downs, with owning her horse at first, she learns about herself and how to open up again. I enjoyed this short book and I believe others with similar things going on in their life should give it a shot as well.

This was certainly an unique storyline for me. Julie survives a car accident, but has no memory of it or her boyfriend that disappears. She has PTSD and chooses to get a horse as a service animal. We follow her healing journey and disocver her horse is being abused by the trainer which triggers Julie's memory and PTSD. She remembers that her boyfriend was abusive.
Now can she truly begin to heal and move on?

A good story of how to overcome abuse and trauma. Julie has survived a horrible car accident, and has little memory of what happened. In therapy, it was mentioned to get a pet, so she decides on a horse. Sweet watching how they both try to get to know one another, but then she makes the mistake of taking her mare to a stable for training, and finds her horse starting to shut down. When she catches the trainer abusing her horse, it brings back memories and nightmares of her own abuse. Well worth the read, but did find it troubling as well. Would recommend this book.
