I know Celia Imrie as an actress and she is one of my favorites. What fun to discover that she is also a fiction writer.

I really enjoyed this book. It is actually the third of a series and I will go back to read the others.

This title fits with the trend of books with older protagonists, think for example of Richard Osman’s series. Here are five retired ex-pats, men and women, who are trying to run a restaurant in a beautiful French location. Of course, things do not go well. Readers will find food, friendship and mystery here. Perfect for a relaxing read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bloomsbury USA for this title. All opinions are my own.

A Nice Cup of Tea's description of the scenery was vivid and very pleasant. The story does have a bit of mystery and in the end, a killer is brought to justice.

One of the things I enjoyed the most was the recipes included throughout the book.

Overall, the author wraps up the story quite nicely in the end. Looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

I really tried to finish this book so I could give it an accurate review however I did not find it capturing enough to keep me entertained to finish.

In Celia Imrie's A Nice Cup of Tea, the third installment in the Nice cozy mystery series, this newest installment would send you traveling to France and some parts of London England. It all started with five retired ex-pat friends who chipped in and brought a divine French restaurant in Bellevue-sur-Mer. But they're having trouble making ends meet with not enough customers to keep their business afloat on the French Riviera waters. Sooner or later, they would have to deal with closing shop and taking the next offer from someone to take it off their hands. For Theresa, she has to deal with a stalker who's obsessed with her, while her granddaughter Chloe is missing and presumed to have runaway with her high school boyfriend. For Sally, she came across two old friends from her acting days and then landed a plum job to star in a movie in Monte Carlo. While all of this is going on, they needed more customers to save their business. But when troublesome danger lurks ahead, they would deal with a difficult situation in a life-and-death matter in the end.

.1 1/2 stars.

The premise of this book was interesting -- a cozy mystery about a group of older British expatriates living in France and trying to make a living and stay financially sound.

This appears to be Book 3 in a series, and this is the first I have read.

A few of the characters are interesting, and I might have enjoyed a book about the characters and their life in France. However, this book just doesn't work for me, and does not seem like a cozy mystery at all. A potential mystery is introduced in the beginning of story, but is dropped fairly quickly. I kept waiting for the mystery to be tied in to the rest of the story, but -- nope.

This story just feels like a big mish mash of different events -- there is not a lot of cohesion in the plot. Even parts in the ending contradicts pieces in the story.

An Advanced Reader Copy was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This isn't really a cozy- there's only a minor mystery- but it is a fluffy novel about a group of women (mostly) and men who have settled in Bellevue-Sur-Mer in the South of France. Ah, the setting! They've got a restaurant and, like so many other small places, it's struggling. Also, the customers are often a pain. I had not read the earlier books so sorting people out was a bit of a challenge but once. decided to let go and live in the moment, as it were, this was a nice piece of escapist fiction where no one is really harmed and things work out in the end. Theresa's got a potential stalker and Sally's run into people who weren't then and aren't now very nice. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. One for the garden or the beach.

Well that’s a third book in a series and you should totally know that. I enjoyed it still but I want to read the rest of them now!

Thanks, NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book. While the storyline is one of suspense and intrigue it lacks continuity and needs major editing, while I realize this is not the end product it was difficult to read as is.

I was disappointed in this title, since it was described as a cozy mystery and that is what I was expecting. There really isn't a mystery (unless you count someone mailing photos from a lost photo album to one of the characters). Several of the main characters who have appeared in other titles in the series were rather unlikable in this title, but the description of the Cote d'Azur were lovely. It's a quick read - I read it in a single day while I was on jury duty. While I would not recommend it to a reader looking for a mystery, readers of contemporary fiction set in France or women's fiction/chick-lit might enjoy it.

Friends Carol, Benjamin, Sally, William and Theresa have a little restaurant in a lovely little town outside Monte Carlo, but making ends meet is proving difficult. Not to mention the angst Theresa is feeling about her runaway granddaughter and Sally’s encounter with some particularly nasty people from her old acting days. Between trying to make the restaurant a success and finding peace in their personal lives, the ex-pats are finding their life is nowhere near as glamorous as they imagined. I love that Imrie’s characters are mature adults, not tech obsessed twenty somethings intent on perfect bodies and all night parties
