I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'm loving all of the Anne's books in this genre. Introducing Anne early will lead to kids being interested in the books later in life. Love the concept.

A delightful ABC book for young readers. The illustrations are delightful. My 3 daughters loved this book and highly recommend it.

Thank you for the free review book, Tundra Books and NetGalley. I love all things Anne, and this book is no exception. I love the graphics in this book, and the words for each letter are so very Anne. This would be an excellent baby shower gift for moms who are fans of Anne of Green Gables.

Anne's Alphabet is a charming picture book with lovely illustrations that would be a fantastic gift for someone who is already a fan of the Green Gables stories. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it as a true teaching/alphabet book for young children, as many of the letters either require previous knowledge of Anne and her friends, or just don't make sense alphabetically (such as "E is for Anne with an E").

I read this book to my granddaughter and she liked it. She did not understand the Anne of Green Gables connection, but that did not stop her from enjoying the story. She does know many of her letters and was able to say them and make the sound so we highlighted the letters together. Now for me, I loved the Anne of Green Gables references. G is for Gilbert, K is for Kindred Spirits, E is for Anne with an E all bring back memories. I can't wait until she is old enough for me to read the early chapter books and the actual novels to and with her. The illustrations were amazing, they are done with sewing, quilting and embroidery. They really add to the aesthetics of the book. If you are an Anne of Green Gables fan, add this to your library, it is just so darn cute.

Anne {with an E} is my kindred spirit and has been since my mom introduced the books and the 1980s mini-series to me. My life, oddly, but delightfully, mirrors Anne’s in so many ways. So it should come as no surprise that, not only do I adore ‘Anne’s Alphabet’ and feel delighted to be chosen to view an early copy, but I have also since purchased a hardcopy for myself. Myself being an almost-40-year-old woman with two sons that do not read board books much anymore.

Illustrations can make or break a children’s book, and Kelly Hill outdid herself with this sweet series. Each image is beautifully appliqued & embroidered to tell a story for each letter of the alphabet, and one that also applied directly to Anne’s story.

A is for Anne
B is for Birch Grove
C is for Cows
D is for Dare

This book is an absolute must for any Anne lovers in your life. Hands down, 5-stars!

Thank you to Tundra Books & NetGalley for the digital copy to review.

Anne of Green Gables fans rejoice. Now there is a way to introduce your littlest readers to the beloved Anne of Green Gables. Kelly Hill has created some lovely board books filled with all things Anne. You get hints from the stories in all of the spreads and you still get the richness of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s lyrical text in the simplest of board books.

What makes these books so incredibly unique is the illustration style. Kelly Hill is a fabric artist, creating all of the illustrations out of fabric in applique style. You can see the incredible attention to detail of each of the spreads, fabric and embroidery together to depict Anne and her kindred spirits and Green Gables. The blocks are so beautiful I could see them all come together in a beautiful Anne quilt and what reader, big or small wouldn’t love an Anne quilt to snuggle and keep them warm.

Alphabet books are pretty ubiquitous and so perfect for every little reader’s first library. In Anne’s Alphabet you get a lovely board book filled with wonderful many of Anne’s favourite and familiar things. It’s a lovely departure from the standard A is for apple fare available to new readers

This board book is pretty standard. It uses elements from Anne of Green Gables to fill in all the letters of the alphabet. The illustrations are fabric and are pretty nice. However, this book has already been done. It’s even been done recently. And I think the last version was better.

Anne's Alphabet by Kelly Hill is such a fun book. The illustrations are so neat and beautiful. Learning the alphabet will be a lot more interesting and unique. Babies and kids would enjoy this book very much. The colors and the simplicity is great.

What a sweet book. For Anne of Green Gables lovers, this book introduces the alphabet to young learners with illustrations from the Anne of Green Gables series.

The illistrations are great and reading it made me want to head over the hills to Avonlea.

Gorgeous illustrations that will make parents nostalgic for Green Gables! Perhaps not the best book to teach the alphabet- "E" is for Anne-with-an-E, for example- but it is a good introduction to the world of Anne Shirley, and I think kids will enjoy the pictures- I sure did!

I think these Kelly Hill books are adorable. I love the artwork. I think these books are a beautiful way for the generations of readers who grew up loving the original tales of Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery to share that love with their children and grandchildren. There are probably better books out there for teaching children about the alphabet but they don't evoke the same nostalgia as this one will.

This board book is a 'must-have' for fans of Anne of Green Gables. The simple text and hand embroidery and cut fabric illustrations should appeal to all ages.
Some of the alphabet letters in this book have words and illustrations that correspond with the Anne story, but may confuse children just learning the alphabet. E is for Anne-with-an-E

Anne's Alphabet: Inspired by Anne of Green Gables is a wonderful way to introduce this internationally loved character.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for the opportunity to write a review on this alphabet book about Anne of Green Gables.

This is a lovely alphabet book in which each letter is represented by something from Anne of Green Gables. The illustrations are particularly charming. While this title may appeal to toddlers, I think that its greatest impact will be with adults who have happy memories of reading the Anne books. Still, this is an opportunity to interest your child from Anne at a young age. Go for it!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this nostalgic ABC. All opinions are my own.

Alphabet books can be tricky in English, especially with certain letters (I'm looking at you, X). This alphabet book is no exception. While it works as an homage to Anne of Green Gables, it's not really a book that should be used for teaching the alphabet. Sticklers for accuracy are probably going to have problems with "E is for Anne-with-an-E", "Q is for Snow Queen", "X is for exhibition", and "Z is for zzzzzz". Yes, all of those things tie into the original story, but since this is a board book, I'm going to assume that the intended audience is too young to know the original story. As such, this is an alphabet book that's more suited to older readers... which is a little odd.

Aside from that, the selection of words and phrases for the other letters is charming. "G is for Gilbert", "K is for kindred spirit", and "P is for puffed sleeves", of course. The embroidered illustrations are just as cute here as they are in Anne's Feelings. I really like the aesthetic of these books.

Overall, this is a decent alphabet book... but it might require some explanation for some of the entries, especially once the child notices that "Anne-with-an-E" does not actually start with the letter E!

Cute alphabet book that goes along with the story Anne of Green Gables. I really enjoyed the artwork!

Anne’s Alphabet is an adorable introduction to L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. Each letter captures a little of the novel (P for Puffed is my favourite!). I want to have it for my one day children.
