Maybe it's because it's been thee years since I first experienced heartbreak and I'm over it, but this collection of poems didn't really reach me. I read and read, waiting for some feelings to erupt from my chest but nothing came. Although I fond a few poems that described my past experiences, there was nothing new. Language wise, it isn't prosaic, very straightforward and plain. There is no line that really stood out to me and when I read poetry, I want to burst with emotions, maybe weeping in tears and feel connected to the written words, even if I did not went through the exact phase as the writer. I think it's a personal thing that modern poetry doesn't work for me. Nice idea for a collection but flat execution.
