Another fun book in the Black Knight Chronicles Series! I have to say, I really enjoy John G. Hartness' writing. I love the humor, the snark, the fun! But I also love the characters and the settings. Someone else said it best - I haven't read a John G Hartness book that I didn't enjoy! There are laugh out loud moments, things that make you shake your head, and situations that hurt because you have come to love the characters!

I really hope JGH keeps writing both Jimmy Black and Quincy Harker stories!

(I didn't download before the title was archived, but still wanted to review the book as it was approved for me.)

Very fun story! The writing style flows really well, the characters are fleshed out and the dialogue is natural and funny. The character descriptions really cracked me up. I didn't really get a good understanding of how tall and gangly the main character was until another character described him as "DJ Qualls with bad hair", which, I'll tell you, made me cackle. Also, his sidekick who is build like a bowling ball and wears swat team uniforms also was a delight. Because my library is just north of Charlotte, I will definitely seek out more titles by this author for our collection.

Great new venture into urban fantasy, with a great humor and intrigue! I likely should have gone back to read the prior 6 first, as I admit I was pretty lost, a stand alone this is not really, tho I was able to become completely engaged - and having not read the prior books, it made me want to do so!

Thank you!!

action-adventure, vampires, urban-fantasy, snark-fest

I never read a Hartness book I didn't like and snicker my way through! This one is not a good starting place, but it's great for being intriguing and wanting to go back and read earlier ones. The characters certainly are and the plot is ingenious! Happy dance!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Bell Bridge Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

Great characters and humor galore! The world building in this series is fantastic. And just when you think Jimmy and Greg can't possibly get into a worse mess..... they go and do just that. I've been a fan of this series and this author for awhile now and devour every story he comes up with. If you like your urban fantasy with a lot of humor, quirky characters, and zany antics this is for you. You won't be disappointed.

I'm happy I requested this book because I discovered a very interesting urban fantasy series.
The book is entertaining, engaging and well written.
I liked the plot, the cast of characters and the world building was really interesting.
I think it's better to read the other books in this series before this one as I not always understood the references.
I look forward to reading another installment in this series.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

All Knight Long by John G. Hartness is a witty urban fantasy story, part of a series. The main characters are Jimmy Black aka Master of the City and Greg Knightwood, his sidekick. They have a private investigation firm called Black Knight Investigations. Their newest case is to find a missing person but that turns out to be more complicated than that. Because she rises as a vampire and things escalate pretty fast from that point on.

The story is set in modern day Charlotte, NC. The supernatural world is unknown to humans. Well except for the chosen few. Like Jimmy’s girlfriend Sabrina the human detective. Jimmy is trying to lead a semi normal life while dealing with supernatural bad guys who try to kill him for one thing or other. There are a whole lot of references to previous books I haven’t read. Yet.

In retrospect, maybe starting a series with the 7th book wasn’t one of my best ideas. I was fully engaged after the first few chapters so I couldn’t stop even though I didn’t understand the references. And I loved the characters. The good ones aren’t always good and that makes the story even more interesting.

But I really enjoyed the story because it was funny and full of action. It’s highly recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley and Belle Books, Bell Bridge Books and John G. Hartness for my copy in exchange for my honest review.
