All right, Meg Cabot - I love you and all so don’t take this too harshly, but this story really felt so...nothing? As in, I’m not sure what the point of this story was. A lot of the characters were annoying, and I felt like the main female was ~a strong female character~ for no other point than being able to say she’s a strong female character. So, not actually authentically strong Also, her mom drove me up the wall.
I mean, the premise is cute and there’s nothing overtly BAD but it was very simple and I didn’t feel a lot of purpose to it. I guess I was wanting to enjoy it MORE because I have such fond memories of Meg Cabot’s works!
But, obviously, I still liked it enough and if you like Meg you will still want to read this.
Thanks Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book before publication!

Such a great beach read! I enjoyed Drew and Bree’s characters a lot. Reading about Florida and the incoming hurricane added something intriguing to this cute rom com.
I love Meg Cabot and her stories always pull at my heart strings and make me smile.

I really enjoyed this book! I read Meg Cabots growing up and it's cool to read new work by her. This book was light, fun, cute, and sexy! I enjoyed the character development and an overarching theme of animal love.

This was a cute book. It moved very fast, maybe a little too much so. The character was fun, but could have been more.

Bree has left New York and returned to her childhood summer vacation island in Florida to get away from her nasty ex-boyfriend and her celebrity mother. She has taken a waitressing job at the local café and living a nice quiet life until a hurricane hits the island. Most people have abandoned the island and headed for mainland, but Bree opts to remain. When the hurricane arrives, Bree volunteers to take care of the pets that have been left behind. There are far more than she can take care of and is forced to accept the help of Drew, the heartthrob of the island and the nephew of the Bree's boss. Reluctantly, Bree becomes attracted to Drew and his obvious love of animals. Will it last after the hurricane is over and life returns to normal?

Cabot seems to have rounded up all the click-bait news trends in the last 5 years and threw them all together in her latest release. No Judgements was neither well-written or entertaining.

I like this book. Bree is a strong fun main character who has a great journey. I loved her relationship and her passion for animals.

This book was cute, but it moved entirely too fast. The relationships didn't feel naturally occurring. I wanted to like it, but I wasn't sold on it. I'm not sure that I'm a big fan of Meg Cabot's writing. I did, however, enjoy the look at the hurricane from the perspective of those in its path. But, I'm not sure how true it is.

A fun summer read! Bree is smart, fun and a sucker for animals. She is working as a waitress on a small Florida island, much to the dismay of her mother. As the storm approaches she refuses to evacuate the island. As she and the other residents who stay on Little Bridge Island weather the storm, Bree fights her attraction to local handyman Drew. Once the storm passes Bree must face the past she is fleeing. Perfect to read at the beach!

I love Meg Cabot. I thought this was really interesting - the hurricane coming to the Keys made for a good storyline for someone who has never experienced one. The romance was fun and light hearted. I would highly recommend for any animal lover as animals are a big part of the story.

Meg Cabot does it again with No Judgments. I had the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy thanks to the publisher (THANK YOU!) and I was so glad I did. It was heartfelt, headstrong, quick-witted and so much more. I so wanted to move myself to Little Bridge Island to help Bree and Drew save all of the animals in the aftermath of the hurricane that destroys the bridge that links the island to the mainland. I've been a Meg Cabot fan for a really long time. The first book I ever picked up by her was 'The Boy Next Door' and she hasn't disappointed me since. 'No Judgments' doesn't release until September, but don't let that stop you from pre-order!!

Thank you to Harper Collins and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this eArc.
No Judgments is a lighthearted, sweet, romance revolving around Bree, her love of pets, a hurricane and a love interest, Drew Hartwell.
It took me a few days to finish this one – it’s a perfect summer beach read, but for some reason the story didn’t hook me in immediately and I kept putting it down to read something else. I finished it today though and I thought the latter half of the book was better than the first, only because as a romance, I thought it was going too slowly for my taste.
Sabrina Beckham, Bree, as she’s known in the story is from New York City, fleeing her life there to find her her place on an island in Florida called Little Bridge Island. She loves animals, particularly an old cat she’s adopted. Bree and a few of her friends, decide to weather out the hurricane headed their way.
The story follows Bree before the storm and after it, the actual hurricane hitting the island is glossed over, but the romance picks up as the hurricane is about to hit. For awhile I had to ask myself if this was a romance, because I felt like it was more of a hurricane animal rescue story! I wanted more romance.
I thought the story was cute but I wasn’t attached to any of the characters, except maybe the animals featured in the book. This is definitely a beach read kind of book, perfect for a lazy summer day.

What an absolutely cute and funny story. It’s my first Meg Cabot book and it got me hooked. Th slow building attraction between Bree and Drew is perfect. I want to go on their adventures with them!

Fans who cut their teeth on Meg Cabot's Princess Diaries will not be disappointed with her latest novel for adults. Other reviewers have commented that the very premise of this book let them down. Yes, I agree that if you're in the path of a hurricane and ordered to evacuate, you should evacuate. However, bad choices often create amazing stories. That's exactly what happens in this romantic comedy. Heroine Bree is running from her past, running from advice, and yes, running from common sense. That's what makes this story work. Readers will cringe at her Bridget Jones' worthy antics, and cheer when the clouds finally clear.
I was fortunate to receive a free ARC of this book from Netgalley. The above thoughts, insights, or recommendations are my own meek musings.

I read through this in one day. It was really hard to put down. Bree, a native New Yorker, has moved to Little Bridge, one of the islands of the Florida Keys. When a hurricane threatens the island and everyone tells her to leave, she stays. Fortunately for her, she has kind neighbors who are prepared for this weather and put her up during the actual storm. When it is over, she starts a quest to help all the pets that were left behind during the evacuation. During this time she starts a romance with a man who she thinks hates her.
As much as I enjoyed this book for its lightness and characters, I'm taking one star away for Bree staying on the island. I know that we wouldn't have a book if she left but how glib she was for the imminent hurricane aggregated me. I'm from Florida and have lived though hurricanes. They're not something to take as lightly as she did.

Quick, fun women's fiction. Does a nice job handling a serious topic within the storyline. Nothing surprising in the story and I wasn't completely swooning over the characters but it was a good read to put in your beach bag!

This was a fun summer read! Sabrina, or Bree has come to the island she used to visit as a child. It turns out the island has everything she needs, including romance. The thing that she was not expecting was a huge hurricane that is headed right for the island. Fun, full of girl power and moments of self-discovery, and if you like animals, you will love this book.

Meg Cabot's latest has a unique setting: a small island in the Florida Keys that is in the unwavering path of a Category 5 hurricane. Cue up the action as the residents who have refused to flee the island survive the storm and begin the rescue and recovery processes. As an added bonus for Sabrina ("Bree"), as she is thrown into the arms of Drew, whom she has been crushing on since her move to the island. As she becomes involved with rescuing pets who have been left behind in the storm, the reasons for Sabrina's move to the island becomes apparent: a perceived betrayal from her famous mother, her father's death and the sexual assault from her former fiancé's bet friend.
I always love a Meg Cabot book, but this does not have the investment or humor as her "Queen of Babble,' "Heather Wells" series. Fun, quick read for those who want a summer "happily-ever-after" book.

Meg Cabot hits it out of the park again with her signature light and witty writing. I'm happy she's come out with a new series.

No Judgments is a sweet romance.
Bree is determined to stay on Little Bridge Island even if there’s a possible record breaking hurricane on the way. She’s not going to let anything or anyone get in her way, especially Drew the nephew of her employer who keeps telling her she won’t survive the storm. She didn’t leave her mentally abusive ex to be told what to do by this infuriating yet sexy man. She keeps telling herself that he’s no good but the more time she spends around him the more their mutual love of animals seems to bring them together.
The tension between Bree and Drew was pretty entertaining and I love how feisty and determined Bree is. However, there were some parts that felt like Bree was more defensive with Drew than was necessary so it took away from their interactions a little bit. Overall, this was a fun book and I flew through it!
