I can already tell from the number of four and five star review given that I will be in the minority with this one. However, I found Their Final Moments to be excruciatingly long winded. There were too many characters to the point it felt overloaded and confusing, especially as the story shifted between different people throughout the book.

And somehow, even despite that it managed to be boring plot wise. The first half of the book is two different departments investigating two entirely different cases that have little to do with each other (just a minor overlap of secondary characters), and included pages upon pages having to deal with characters that had nothing to do with the overall story and who in fact disappeared entirely before the second half.

Also for the record, even though I know this will be considered a spoiler, but I feel it needs to be said as a possible trigger to some people. He's not making the films so he can re-watch them and remember them. He's making them because he sells them. That's right he makes and sells snuff films. And that right there was enough to be a huge turn off as well.

Their Final Moments is the third book in the DI Mike Croft series and this one and this one is much more personal that the other two books. It was a very good read and it's written in two parts with full of twists and turns, with a a young woman dies in a burning car, an actress is found dead in her own home and a teenage boy runs away from a past he doesn’t know how to face. WoW..........its doesn't stop there......................
In part one you read about DI Mike Croft investigate a series of rapes, all the victims are young blonde woman. After investigating these rapes it becomes very clear there are two rapists in the Norfolk area. DI Mike Croft and his team has to act fast before another young woman is raped!

Can DI Mike Croft find the rapist before he rapes again?

In part two of this book DI Mike Croft has been seconded to an investigation of Jake Bowen a filmmaker and serial murderer. in Dorset. This relates a big manhunt for Jake Bowen. who has continued to murder both male and females and film's them whilst he holds them captive.
Jake Bowen has now kidnapped a six year old child and the clock is ticking to find them.

Will DI Mike Croft and his team be in time to save the small child before it's too late?

Can he stop Jake Bowen?

I would highly recommend this series of books. I just loved them.

Big Thank you to Joffe Books and Jane Adams for the ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

This is a particularly twisted, deeply unsettling and lurid addition to the Detective Mike Croft series by Jane Adams, previously published as Fade to Grey and Final Frame. It should be noted this is definitely not for the faint of heart. Mike is looking into a serial rapist whose victims are young blonde woman between certain ages. In various other locations, there are other worrying events. In Wiltshire, a woman perishes in a burning vehicle, and in Norwich, an actress is discovered dead in her home. A macabre film maker, Jake Bowen, is intent on capturing on film the final moments of his chosen victims. Mike is under pressure to find what connects these horrifying set of events. It would be true to say this is action packed, perhaps a trifle too much for me, and I have to admit it was probably not the best in the series for me. Many thanks to Joffe Books for an ARC.

Mike Croft is back and he is after a serial killer like no other.
He likes to film his victims. He is very clever and he has been doing it for a long time.
From page one I was hooked, in places I was sat on the edge of my seat, literally holding my breath and tapping my kindle faster and faster. As the death toll rises the police still have no clue where he is. They need a break and fast. This book is real thrill ride and kept me reading late into the night. I could not .
This is the third book I have read by this author and I have never been disappointed and all have been awarded five stars. ANOTHER author that has reached my favourites list.An easy five stars and so Highly Recommended.
I would like to thank the author, Joffre Books and Netgalley for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

The third book in the Detective Inspector Mike Croft series sounds like an engaging mystery thriller from the synopsis, but sadly, it was not as enjoyable as I'd hoped. Originally published as Fade to Grey and Final Frame when a novel is described as action-packed we readers usually assume that is a positive. However, here, the action and pace are so frenetic that there is never any time to let things sink in. Each instalment can be read individually if so desired, but this will not be for everyone given that it includes sexual assault/rape which is obviously and rightly a touchy subject. Many thanks to Joffe Books for an ARC.

An edge of the seat, nail biting story. The third in D I Mike Croft series that I have read and all of them were superb. Twists and turns at every turn. With an exciting ending, hopefully not the last from Mike Croft!

A fast paced novel with lots of suspense follows Detective Mike Croft and his team as they try and catch the man who has brutally murdered a number of young men and women. Mike and his team know who done it after arresting another man who was a fan of the murderer but it takes lots of time and effort to track down the killer. Who is the murderer Jake and what is the reason he commits these terrible murders? Was it for fame, money? Read this book and find out Jake's reasoning and if Det. Mike Croft finally catches up with Jake.

This is book 3 in the Detective Mike Croft series that is being republished by Joffe Books and I have read all of them. However, it will work perfectly as stand alone so if you haven't read the previous books it wont be a problem.

Dead bodies are being discovered but with nothing to link them no common factors in the murder method and eventually it is discovered there is more than one murderer. Add the fact that the murders are being carried out in various locations up and down the country and Mike Croft has his work cut out trying to join some dots and find a way forward.

The characters continue to gain depth and are all complex and realistic. There is plenty of suspense built in to the story especially when people close to Mike get dragged in to the tangled web.

This was a really good read, however, I did find a little complicated and slow going in places. That said I am still looking forward to future books in this series.

Dective Inspector Mike Croft #3

This book was first published as "Fade To Grey" and "Final Frame". DI Mike Croft is investigating a serial rapist. There have been six victims ageing from sixteen - twenty two. The rapes have happened in less than a week. The story is split into two days and times and told by the respective of one of the characters, we also hear from the rapist. There are a lot of characters that are introduced to us quite quickly, which made it quite confusing. The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. This book might not be for everybody due to its content.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Joffe Books and the author Jane Adams for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A good story, set in two places and two timeframes. There are two rapists - there has to be, they've found two different blood groups for them. Do they know one another or is one just a copycat? They catch a rapist but where is the other one.

Thank you netgalley.
