Cute, domestic, inclusive, and very explicit content, featuring superheroes/supervillains! Also loving the art style, will definitely keep an eye out for more from this author.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for making this available!

I guess I glossed over the “Erotica” tag, and it wasn’t mentioned on Goodreads, so head’s up that there is graphic content!

Otherwise, this is a pretty adorable (yet steamy) collection of illustrated superhero stories brimming with humor and sex-positivity. There is much talk of consent, boundaries, safe sex procedures, and kink exploration, and it is all handled with the utmost care.

This was such an inclusive read! The A++ representation and diversity on hand is super progressive and comforting— sexualities, gender identities, all shapes, sizes, and colors.

It’s frank in its discussions and exemplary in its message, but the heavy eroticism is just not my cup o’ tea.

Awesome super heroes having hot consensual sex?? Yes please!! This is legit erotica, so if graphic sexual content is not your thing, please stay away. It has been some time since I’ve read from this genre and it really elevates the experience when it’s in the graphic novel format. It can be a bit distracting to see highly erotic scenes depicted in a very cute style of art, but it works fine in this volume. I enjoyed everything except for the font used—it looks kind of stiff and the conversation bubbles looked like copy-pasted templates. It’s also a little too text-heavy for a graphic novel.

The book promotes self-awareness and open communication between partners. It’s wonderful to see the kind of trust that leads to a healthy and rewarding sex life illustrated like this. All the characters are original and interesting. They each have a distinct set of abilities that are made more special by their unique personalities. I loved that the couples in the stories are truly diverse in terms of gender, race, age and/or fetish. I am sure any reader will find something to like from this steamy collection, too.

Big thanks to NetGalley, Oni Press and Limerence Press for providing a copy of this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review.

Grabbed from Netgalley because I enjoy McClaren's art from her all-ages work on the Adventure Time comics, and the clockpunk fantasy Hinges. And as when I similarly read Colleen Coover's Small Favors off the back of her all-ages work, I was somewhat taken aback at how very not suitable for all ages this is. But that art style turns out to work just as well on sex vignettes, keeping the feel warm even when the script is leaning a little didactic. Because the emphasis here is on things like the importance of negotiating consent, not letting it get you down if a new idea doesn't quite work out, and other such useful information. Exactly the sort of thing teenagers should be getting given in school, in other words, even as the various permutations of couple and the lovingly detailed genitalia render that politically impossible in a world still determined to placate various flavours of ghastly old zealot. Oh, and the superhero angle at which the cover hints? There are at most two stories of the five where it's remotely relevant to the set-up, but if it helps with the economics of publishing this and/or happens to be McClaren's own preference, who's complaining?

A fantastic collection of short erotica comics featuring characters that run the spectrum of genders, body types, and colors (even a spider/human hybrid!). I hope that some of these characters show up again in subsequent volumes because they were all so likable. The art and coloring is very clean and modern - has a very pleasant "tumblr" feel. The stories are all very sex-positive and make sure to show consent often. I especially appreciate the panels that SHOWED characters using condoms - the majority of sexy comics seem to think that safe sex is either non-existent or only implied or will HEAVEN FORBID "ruin the mood".

I can't get over this comic anthology right now and immediately preordered it on Amazon for my personal collection. It is indeed "Super Fun Sexy Times". Ughhh. This was so goooooood.

I don't quite know what I was expecting but I do know that Super Sexy Fun Times delivered beyond whatever my preconceived notion was. It was more visually graphic than I was expecting but the stories are so varied, nuanced, sensitive, sexy, and inclusive - I don't think I've ever experienced anything quite like it. It has representation up the yingyang and the way that consent and identity are addressed is breathtaking. 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

This is not only a really quick read, but it's utterly enjoyable. Five stories about superheroes and super villains that explore all natures of sex and sexuality from gender identity to kink. I thought it was a really cleaver and fun way to show healthy sexual dynamics through characters that are instantly recognizable. Of the five vignettes, I liked the one between Shade and Recluse the best. For me, they had the coolest character design, the most character, and the most emotionally rewarding story.
