The writing is impeccable as always, but this collection didn't quite have the same impact on me as his previous. Though I do have to say, the penultimate tale was sublime. AND the final story, although basically only two pages, had me shaken. |
I will always pick up the latest Etgar Keret collection. Everyone I know who has read his stories has become a fanatical missionary spreading the word of Keret to anyone who will listen. |
I really loved this collection of short stories. Each one was intriguing and thought provoking. The opening short story definitely puts you on your toes and makes you pay attention. It sets the tone really well for the rest of the stories and they do not disappoint. There was only one story which I didn't connect with very much and I felt it was too long with not a great payout at the end. Other than that I think the collection is very strong and that people will enjoy the variety and atmosphere that Keret brings to an impressive round of stories. |
