This book was such a quick read and I loved it even more than the first book!
It was filled with rebuilding, romance, and tons of boxing.
I think I’m going to be dreaming about a man in a boxing ring for awhile now..

I don’t think I’m the right target audience for this duo of books. A Story Like Ours is the second book in Huber’s Love Story Duet, it does not work as a stand alone! I read the first and it was just okay for me. I don’t love super emotional books, and this fell into that category. I lost interest in the characters in A Story Like Ours and DNF at 30%

I unfortunately was unable to download this one before it was archived but I look forward picking this one up in the future and returning to these lovely characters!

This title is an addictive, emotional & tumultuous romance. I didn't read book 1 (that's on me!) so I struggled with the characters & storyline. Robin did her best to catch me up, but the whole time I read it I'm thinking, DANG! I should have read the first book. I feel like readers who like Colleen Hoover would really like this series.

I had very mixed feelings about this series. For the most part, I was disappointed, the H/h came off as very immature to me. Not my jam.

Lucy is an artist who has her own studio and is working on getting featured in other bigger studios in order to make a name for herself.
Sam is a champion fighter who might be coming to the end of his career at the age of 27.
A Story Like ours is told in both of their perspectives which is really nice as we can see what is going on in both of their minds. They both have very different lives and at times those different lives really show especially in the beginning. As times goes on they begin to work better as a team and really grow together as a couple.

I did notice some very unrealistic things with this book that did end up taking away some of the enjoyment for me. First was Lucy being involved in the afterfight press conference and being asked questions. That type of stuff doesn't happen, the significiant other is seen and not heard in the sports world unless the player gets severely injured. The second was how everyone was so okay with her jumping from one relationship to the next with no real repercussions for doing so.
Those two things just made it hard for me to like the book at times.
Overall I did find myself enjoying this story. Sam and Lucy are two characters who are loveable and who really care for each other.
I didn't read the first book in this duology and I was still able to follow along with what was happening and put the pieces together of the first one.

After finishing A Love Like Yours (even though it wasn’t a favorite) I needed to read A Story Like Ours to find out what happened after the cliff hanger of an ending in book 1. Sadly it just didn’t work for me at all. Everything was a little too much and way over the top for my particular taste. The drama was just non stop and there was one part of the book that really had me scratching my head. I get that the author really wanted to test Lucy and Sam, but they were put through soap opera level drama and it just didn’t work for me. Once again I know people that did enjoy it so check out their reviews and decide for yourself.

Sam and Lucy’s relationship is an emotional rollercoaster. Book2 picks up where book 1 leaves off.
It was a lot to deal with.

This was a great second chance romance and I loved the connection between Sam and Lucy. I couldn't put this book down and look forward to reading more titles from Robin Huber.

This book had all the feels with angst and lots of passion. That is my kind of book and I loved it. A Story Like Ours is the conclusion to A Love Like Yours and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

Sam and Lucy face many challenges and will have to work hard to make things work. I was so happy to see them fulfill wishes they had as teenagers. I was happy to see them reconnect and the conclusion of this couple couldn’t have been any better. This book was an emotional rollercoaster for me that I devoured in one sitting.

You don’t want to miss this duet!

I enjoyed the book it was a quick romance book which was exactly what I needed to entertain myself while I was on holiday.

The beginning seemed a little slow and it didn’t really catch my attention so I stopped reading it for a while but I picked it up after a few days and as soon as I reached the middle point of the book that’s when I really started to get addicted to the plot and I just devoured the entire book in the same night.

I’m so grateful that I was able to receive an arc and read it before it was released

A sweet and emotional conclusion to the Love Story duet. Robin Huber writes a gorgeous story here and I fell instantly in love even though the journey was bumpy. I love a book that makes me feel something and this book did it for me!

What a great ending to this beautiful love story. Sam and Lucy are such a sweet couple that it's hard not to fall in love with them. Although this duet could've been done all in one book, it's still a great read.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

so i read part 1, a love like yours, and this is supposed to function as a duet. and it does, a story like ours literally picks up where the first book left off. and lucy and sam continue their journey to happily ever after.

but i guess my question is, was it necessary for this to be told in two books? do we need to know what happened after they decided they'd be together and work things out? there is something to be said for having the opportunity to spend more time with characters you love. but i'm not sure i felt strongly enough about sam and lucy to feel like it was so necessary.

in the end, i felt like their story felt resolved in the first 30 pages of this book and all the rest of it was bonus content. it wasn't necessary for me to enjoy their romance, but others may have fallen in love with the couple to want to know all the details.

**a story like ours will publish on june 18, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/grand central publishing (forever) in exchange for my honest review.

Second chance romances are a guilty pleasure of mine - I'll read them no matter how good, bad, or I between they are. Luckily for me, this one was pretty great!

The story of Sam and Lucy is not a particularly unique one, but I appreciated how hopeful, romantic, and beautiful it is. This sequel was arguably better than the first book, mainly due to the fact that I felt that there was a lot more angst and emotion in this one.

Robin Huber is in my opinion an author to watch, and I look forward to reading more of her work and I think it'll only get better over time.

A Story Like Us is the conclusion to the Love Story Duet. I repeat this is not a stand-alone so make sure you read the beginning of this angsty, heartfelt love story in A Love Like Yours.

This picks up right where left off and I fell in love even more with these two. If you thought book one was emotional yeah that just skims the surface. These two have obstacles upon obstacles that are thrown at them. I found myself holding my breath at certain parts and crying at a few scenes. It tugs on your heart strings for sure. I don’t want to go into too much detail because of spoilers.

Robin Huber is an author that needs to be on your radar. She wrote a beautiful second chance romance. She’s an amazing storyteller that gives us real and relatable feelings of the heart. This duet is one you need to check out and trust me she is an author you will easily enjoy. I easily devoured this series and look forward to more from her.

Sam & Lucy are relationship goals. Seriously. I adore this couple and their story.
This book was beautifully written. The characters are well - developed. You feel like you're a part of their life. I can't wait to read more by this author.

A STORY LIKE OURS concludes the adventure we began with Sam and Lucy in A LOVE LIKE YOURS. And if you thought the first story was emotional and ripped your heart out — just wait.

It’s actually impossible for me to write this review in a way that won’t reveal vital to the story information. And since I try very hard to not give away spoilers I’m simply going to go for the emotions here. This really is a story (a duet of stories) that needs to be read in order and firsthand to get the complete impact of the love between this couple that goes through so much.

Lucy and Sam’s story is intense, it’s emotional. This couple will break your heart at what they go through, and eventually, heal it back up as their love stands firm in the face of so much coming at them. I loved getting to know the secondary characters a little better this time around. I devoured this story very quickly and was more than satisfied by the ending and the epilogue as well. If you love a really good, intense, and emotionally demanding romance then you’ll want to pick up this duet of lovely romances.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
