I was gifted an ebook via Netgalley. I voluntarily read and reviewed it. All thoughts are my own.

Legacy and the Queen by Annie Matthew and Kobe Bryant - DNF'd this one. I just couldn't get into it.

The Last True Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake - 5 stars. This reminded me of a Jenn Bennett book and I cannot wait to read it. I hadn't heard of it up to this point. Added to my TBR

Coral by Sara Ella - 5 stars. A reimagining of The Little Mermaid. I think I may have a billion of these types of books on my TBR, but I haven't gotten around to reading one yet. This will definitely be the first on the list. It had a really cool twist to the lore and I am so intrigued. Added to my TBR

I'm Not Dying with You Tonight by Kimberly Jones and Gilly Segal - 3 stars. This is supposed to be in the same thread as The Hate U Give, Dear Martin, etc. I am trying to reserve my judgment for more of the story, but what I'm read, I'm not sure how much I like the MCs. Already on my TBR.

Dear Haiti, Love Alaine by Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite - 5 stars. I really enjoyed this one and I am looking forward to learning more about Haitian culture. Added to my TBR

Harvey Comes Home by Connie Nelson - 3 stars. I think this one is going to be too hard to read. The first chapter opened with the dog's perspective and I wanted to cry. Apparently, it also follows a boy who is volunteering at a retirement home with a patient with memory loss. All stuff that hits a little too close to home for me. It's a middle grade novel and seems well written.

Scars Like Wings by Erin Stewart - 5 stars. This story follows a teenager girl who lost her parents and cousin in a fire that also burned 60% of her body. I was hooked from the get-go and cannot wait to get my hands on this. Added to my TBR

Home Girl by Alex Wheatle - 1 star. I don't think I have ever hated a MC so quickly ever. I'm sure this story of a girl in the foster system is eye-opening and raw, but I couldn't muster up an ounce of sympathy.

Overall, I felt this volume of Buzz Books was really short compared to ones in the past and more of the books were misses for me.

I enjoyed being able to read excerpts from hot upcoming books. This definitely makes me look forward to these and many other amazing novels that will be coming out within the next few months. The variety of these books is wonderful.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I always get so excited over the new editions of Buzz Books. I read them as soon as they come out, and some how I managed to forget to review the newest editions, even though I'm SO excited about some of the upcoming books. While all of the upcoming books sound incredible, these are the ones that stuck out the most to me.

Coral feels like a perfect 2019 YA novel. I mean, it has everything. Mermaids and education about mental health? Yes please! Such a winning combo! Not to mention that first sentence!!! "Her soul was bleeding". I can hardly wait to get my hands on a copy.

I'm Not Dying With You Tonight - Ok, I've been seeing this one all over the internet. This book looks incredible. The writing style is fabulous, it immediately pulled me in and made me want to know more. PLUS I'm a sucker for alternating view points. I always feel like I get a little bit more from any novel that I get to see the story through more than just one set of eyes. This novel feels all to real, as it features teenagers that are running for their lives after some sort of violence strikes (unfortunately the preview didn't tell me what kind of violence, and I'm DYING TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!!).

Last but not least, Scars Like Wings sounds incredible. I love that rather than telling a story in which tragedy strikes, this is the story of recovering and healing and learning to live AFTER the tragedy. This book promises to not only be VERY emotional, but sassy (I love the voice of this narrator- SUCH A SASS!!), and (hopefully) inspiring.

It is always great to get a first look at what books are coming up. The young adult category is growing and expanding. All the new possibilities look fresh and excitting. I'll admit that I am partial to Fantasy as a genre, but characters are key. Engaging characters in a meaningful story will get the reader everytime. This collection offers a lot of variety and thought provoking situations. These will be good additions to the current YA choices.

Pretty good selection of new titles to keep an eye out for in the Fall/Winter. I like the excerpts, and the ability to request some of the titles right away. I think the Buzz Books does a great job of capturing a wide variety of upcoming titles. I look forward to these each quarter.

Thank you to NetGalley for my copy of this book.

What a fabulously delicious book. This book has a fantastic story line, excellent characters and is just unputdownable. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and I enjoyed it immensely.

This is a fun, great way to preview upcoming books - a short piece or so of each anticipated book is shared. My first Young Adult Buzz Books as I generally am not a big fan of YA. But in the last year, I’ve read a couple that have been really good, so decided to check out this compilation. A nice variety and two that sound interesting are The Last Two Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake and Harvey Comes Home by Colleen Nelson. I appreciated the opportunity to sample. Thanks NetGalley and all the publishers for providing a much-anticipated window into Young Adult books coming this fall/winter 2019.

This was a great way to learn which young adult titles to look out for in the upcoming months! I was able to create my own list of books to track down for myself and my library, including a whole bunch of titles that I know wouldn't have been on my radar otherwise.

I really look forward to Buzz Book's previews twice a year but unfortunately this selection did nothing for me. The only one I'm looking forward to from this bunch is "Dear Haiti, Love Alaine".

This was a great reference to find all of the upcoming Fall/Winter YA releases of 2019-2020. I was able to add so many awesome new titles to my TBR as well as rule out some others based on finding out more information.

I hope to see many more of these books for future seasons to help me keep my TBR long!

Helpful and nice. I think I will start reading those for my next new releases hunt.
I had a good time discovering new releases I didn't know about and it was quick to read.
Coral by Sara Ella actually picked my interest and, well, we'll see if I'm going to read it or not.

I love this concept. Reading excerpts from anticipated books and then deciding if you're interested in reading the whole thing.
This book was much shorter than I anticipated and am definitely excited to ready some of the books included.

I love, love, love, Buzz Books

I always love having access to these previews of upcoming books. I'm most excited for The Last True Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake. I also love having a list at the beginning that has titles/authors/publish dates at the beginning for upcoming new releases. It's a great reference!

Did not review in the traditional sense. First reactions to each book is posted on my blog. I review cover, premise, and the excerpt and list whether or not I will be adding it to my TBR.

I love it when the Buzz Books become available! This is such a great way to get a taste of the great reads that are coming out soon. I always end up with a longer "to read" list after sampling the titles in Buzz Books.

Interesting upcoming books! I am partial to reading the one about the mermaid, in hopes that it delivers.

Unfortunately, this edition didn't contain anything that really caught my attention. A pity really, as there is usually a good selection of excerpts.

An interesting collection of Young Adult books coming out this Fall and Winter. There's lots of variety for every taste. I love the excerpts which always help me decide which books I really want to read - always wishing I had time to read all of them! The bibloiography in the front is really helpful too when perusing what will be available from my favorite authors and new authors to me.

Thanks to Publishers Lunch BUZZ BOOKS through Netgalley for another fine compilation!
