A small town romance complete with chickens and a goat. When Starr and Spencer first meet does not make a very good impression on her. She is a small town girl recovering from a major accident. He is a big city lawyer behaving like a cad. As they spend more time together Starr finds it hard to control her need to say what is on her mind. This freshness of speech fascinates Spencer who is normally dealing with people who hide their feelings. The longer he spends in the country and the more time with Starr the more they fall for each other. There is witty banter and a great look at how past events can shape your life.

I received an e-arc of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I tried so hard to like this book because it seemed to have the makings of something really captivating. However it never really seemed to get there. I enjoyed a few parts of the story but it wasn't enough for me to really enjoy it. I'd probably give this author another try in case this book was the oddball bad story, but I just don't recommend this read.

No Heartbreaker Required was a decent story but I just didn't feel very connected to Starr and Spencer. Their first meeting and even the first quarter of the book was really funny and engaging, and there was enough back and forth to keep me reading. But then it took a left turn somewhere and turned slow. Very, very slow.
I liked Starr, mostly. I thought she was stubborn when she didn't need to be and obtuse when it came to Spencer's efforts. I liked Spencer and I even liked them together. Still, for me this was just an okay read.

Rating 4.5/5*
Attending the wedding of friends brings together Starr Taylor and Spencer Kensington but with events from their past, a theft and staying on a ranch will either force them apart or bring them together in this delightful romance.

Spencer had been a rebellious teen, seeking his parents' attention but now he's put his past behind him and is a highly successful lawyer with a reputation as a playboy. Starr was a highly talented skier, an Olympic hopeful whose dreams were crushed when she was trapped in an avalanche and lost her job, her boyfriend and ability to go back on the ski slopes again. When Starr sees a young teen who she'd previously helped learn to ski being arrested she rushes to intervene. It turns out he stole Spencer's wallet. As she enlists Spencer's unwitting help with the perpetrator, he discovers that maybe there's more to life than he'd previously thought . . . and dreams need to change as you discover that what you'd strived for might not be your route to happiness...

This is a story about facing and overcoming fears, daring to follow new dreams and learning to trust. It is a lovely, heartwarming story where reevaluating the past and considering the present help show an alternate route to achieving new objectives and finding love and happiness. A great read from this talented new author and a story I have no hesitation in highly recommending.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

It was love at first chapter with "No Heartbreaker Required"! In fact, I was sad when I got to the last page....until I saw that it will be a series. This may be my new favorite series!
The interaction between Starr and Spencer was spicy, witty and relatable. JoAnn Sky did not make their love story easy. It did not come in a nice, neat package. Between helping Matt, Starr's mental recovery from her accident and Spencer trying to fix everything, "No Heartbreaker Required" gave a real life story. The fact that the setting was in Washoe City made it all that much better as I used to live in Washoe Valley and could visualize everything- Mt. Rose, Tahoe, downtown Reno.
I can't wait to read more books by Ms. Sky!

Whilst this is a tale of never judging a book by it's cover, this cover does do the story justice.

I very much enjoyed this tale of troubled Starr and confused Spencer. Both main characters were incredibly easy to like and empathise with, I could feel myself building an easy connection with them both. Even Starr blowing hot and cold felt understandable given recent events and a controlling ex.

There are quite a few sub-plots running through the book and, whilst they added a lovely depth and richness to the story, I do think they distracted from the romance element a little. I felt the chemistry between the couple, and we had plenty of confuddled feelings from the pair but I wasn't 100% convinced I'd seen them fall in love. I needed just a touch more passion, I wanted to be swept away by emotion a little more.

No Hearbreaker Required is still very much a full of feels book, in the main emotions and feelings were really well portrayed. JoAnn Sky is very much a talented writer who makes reading feel so easy. That might sound an odd thing to say but I've read enough books where it feels as though I'm having to put in effort to get through it. It is never an issue with this book, the story just flows really smoothly, carrying you along in its gentle embrace.

As mentioned before, there are several story strands running throughout the plot. I liked how it added colour to the palette, painting a whole picture for us rather than providing a sketched outline. It also allowed us to gain valuable insight into both Starr and Spencer's personalities, to see them grow and connect as the story progressed.

Whilst there are some steamier scenes, not only is this fairly slow burn but it is also a fade-to-grey book. However that didn't make it any less enjoyable of a read but is a plus for those who don't enjoy graphic or copious sex scenes.

After almost losing her life, & totally losing her nerve, in an avalanche, Starr’s life has fallen apart. You can’t be a champion skier if you’re afraid to ski the mountain. Her boyfriend calls it quits & the company that she’s put her name, research & talents behind, has started to distance themselves from her. She promises herself that once her brother’s wedding is over, she’ll get everything straightened out. She didn’t plan on her soon to be sister in law’s best friend being a jerk that she’s attracted to.

Spencer isn’t one for family or marriage. He couldn’t turn down his best friend when she asked him to be the best man at her wedding. He’s more a short term affair without getting too close guy. So why is he so attracted to Starr? Why can’t he walk away?

This was an enjoyable entertaining story. Starr needed to regain her confidence & her ability to face her fear. Spencer needed to learn to trust again. The story has some side stories that help build momentum towards the end & the final between Starr & Spencer. The supporting characters add to the depth of the story & JJ, Starr’s autistic nephew, adds color & another dimension. The interactions between him & the two main characters were an enjoyable part of the story. The depiction of his character was realistic. Overall, this was an entertaining story that was easy to read & enjoy.

A warm small-town read about Starr, a competitive skier and local, and Spencer, a lawyer from New York.

Spencer definitely puts off the vibe of not wanting to get too involved or attached, but underneath it all he has a big heart.

Starr is struggling after an accident and she's also not sure if she should let Spencer in as they grow closer. Their banter and back and forth was fun.

This was a quick, sweet read and I am looking forward to reading more from the author.

No Heartbreaker Required is the second book in JoAnn Sky’s Biggest Little Love Story series and delights readers with the development of the relationship between Starr Taylor and Spencer Kensington.

Two complex and interesting characters, Starr and Spencer will draw you into their unique world and captivate you with their strength and determination. Starr has emotional barriers that result in a paralysing fear after her near tragic accident that has effectively ended her career path, so experiencing an all-consuming attraction to a confident and well-known playboy is definitely not high on her list.

But life throws the most unexpected obstacles in your path when you are least prepared, and all you can do is go with the flow and hope that the future is better than the past. Great story telling, intelligent and likeable characters, and a fabulous HEA to round it all up. I can’t wait for what this author has in store for us next.

Love comes when they don’t expect it!

Skier Starr Taylor was taking a break at the casino bar after finishing the plans for her brother’s wedding to Grace when she overheard the guy standing next to her giving the brush off to his date after he had spent the night at her apartment. Lawyer Spencer Kensington hated family weddings but since Grace was his best friend he was going to be the best man so he was at the bar while talking on the phone. Starr and Spencer are surprised when they figured out they were the attendants for the wedding.

Starr is dealing with the results of being in an avalanche in Europe and not being able to get back on her skis without getting flashbacks and trying to recover from it without telling anyone she was having problems. Spencer should have been back in New York to finish a business deal but after his wallet was stolen, he decided to help Starr with the boy because he had been that kid at one time getting in trouble.

Starr had traveled all over when she competed in skiing but still loved the small town she was from and Spencer was used to the big city where everybody was strangers but that all changed when Spencer stayed to help Starr with Matt.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first book I have read by this talented author and it definitely will not be the last.
This one centers around Starr Taylor and Spencer Kensington .
Starr was on the road to becoming an Olympic skier, when an accident occurred on the slopes. Though not physically injured, the psychological issues have paralyzed her and she now fears the slopes. Add to that an ex that broke up with her on the same day of the accident, and her confidence is practically gone.
On her brother’s wedding day, she meets Spencer Kesington, BFF of the bride, and a successful lawyer from the East coast who’s known to be a playboy.
Neither expected the attraction, nor were they prepared for it. Spencer is drawn to Starr and jeopardizes his career for her. Baffling both of them. Starr has the heart of gold, and while she can’t seem to overcome her fears, will do anything for others.
The story is engaging from the first page to the last. The characters are complex and very likable. It is at times heartbreaking as well as heartwarming. A story that will definitely touch your hearts .
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Entangled Bliss.
The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Set in Reno, Nevada...known as the Biggest Little Town...this was one story I found hard to put down. With character growth and transformations that brought warmth to a touching story of insecurities and the strength needed to overcome them...and letting in the people in your life to give you a hand and stand by your side.

Each of the characters were so realistic...it was easy in my mind’s eye to see the story as it was unfolding...Starr’s emotional struggles were so realistic that I found myself feeling her panic while reliving her ordeal. Spencer was her perfect compliment...his forceful nature was his ticket to winning Starr’s affections.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

The characters in this story were believable with many of the problems that we deal with in everyday life. I loved the story line involving JJ with his autism. I felt the author did a great job developing the interactions between JJ and Spencer and how that helped Spencer become a more likable character besides become less self centered. Starr’s professional problems from her accident plus her strengths and weaknesses keep her grounded and normal in my eyes. I really enjoyed all aspects of the book and I will definitely read the first book in the series even though I feel that this is a stand alone book where you don’t need to read other books in the series.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I will definitely read more books by JoAnn Sky.

Star has been helping her future sister-in-law with the wedding of her dreams. The last guest has not arrived - so they think - but Spencer just arrived at the Hotel and is currently having a drink before the wedding. Star and Spencer meet at the bar - both speak about the mass of weddings occurring that weekend and that they are both in a wedding that weekend as well. Grace, the bride comes into the bar looking for Star ... to Star's horror she learns that Spencer is the missing guest / groomsmen for the same wedding she is in.

Spencer has never looked at long term relationships as being for him. He has always been a one night / no strings attached type of man - until Star enters the picture. Star and Spencer soon learn that they have more than a no strings attached attachment to each other as the story progresses. Spencer has always been the problem solver for the firm he works for.

Spencer's wallet is stolen by a youth, Star help learn to ski years ago. Star attempts to run and help the youth - only to learn that Spencer was the victim. She enlists the help of Spencer to help Mattie (the youth that stole is wallet) to keep him out of jail. Spencer remembers being in trouble / peer pressure forcing him to do similar things. He is reluctant to help - he judges Mattie before he really speaks with him.

Star was recently in an avalanche and has not been able to ski again since. She was been hiding / recovering from the scare and living on her family farm - in a cottage. She is also helping to take care of her sister-in- laws brother - who is autistic- while the newly weds are on their honeymoon.

I don't want to give the ending away - but solving problems without speaking with the other person can lead to problems and possible heartbreak.

No Heartbreak Required by JoAnna Sky a five-star read that will break you. I will be honest I almost gave this a four, as there were parts that it dragged a little and then felt rushed, but overall, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Spencer Kensington pushed me to my limits, I really didn’t like him for quiet a bit of the story, but one fist bump and a watch changed it all for me. Starr Taylor was similar, for parts of the story I wanted to shake her and then all of a sudden, I adored her, and wanted to see her win. I would definitely try this author again.

An okay read, took me awhile to warm to Starr and Spencer, but I enjoyed their story, it was also nice to catch up with Jj and Noah

No Heartbreaker Required is the second book in JoAnn Sky's Biggest Little Love series. The story is about Sky, a professional skier currently on a break, and Spencer, a cynical lawyer from NYC, and how first impressions aren't always accurate. We met both Sky and Spencer in the first book, No Cowboys Required.

I really enjoyed that the story was told from both main characters' perspectives. I think seeing both characters' reasoning behind their actions really adds depth to the story. I also liked that the characters from the previous book were involved. I didn't like that Spencer and Sky's relationship was developed over only one week. I would've liked the timeframe to be a bit longer.

Overall I thought this was a fun, quick read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Starr is a former Olympic caliber skier, but she hasn’t found the fortitude to ski since being trapped in an avalanche. She has spent her time helping plan her brother’s wedding, and then caring for her new sister-in-laws’s autistic younger during the honeymoon.

Spencer went to Reno to serve as the best man at a close friend’s wedding. He planned a very short trip, so he could quickly return to his life as a high-powered attorney making deals. But sometimes the best laid plans go awry. In this case, it happened when Spencer met Starr.

They both felt a connection, but Starr fought the connection while Spencer actively pursued it. When Spencer ends up staying in Reno after the wedding, Starr finds it hard to fight her feelings for Spencer. Can a woman with demons find happiness with a man who doesn’t do relationships?

I really enjoyed this book, it was a love story and an inspirational story of overcoming obstacles and choosing to allow others in. The main character Starr was incredibly frustrating at times but I love when a character can make you feel things. It was a very nice uplifting read.
