I almost wish that I wouldn't have requested this book since it was just the first three chapters. It left off on such a cliff-hanger that July 9th just seems so far away and like such a long time to wait. I've loved each of Robert Beatty's books in this series and from the first 3 chapters it appears that the fourth installment will not disappoint!

I enjoyed reading the preview chapters for this book. Just like the 3 previous Serafina books, Serafina and the Seven Stars, is going to be another great adventure. Robert Beatty’s books are alway on my pre-order list. His stories are full of adventure and suspense. While my younger daughter, 2nd grade, thought they were a little too scary, my older daughter, 12 couldn’t put the books down. This series brings together a bit of magic, folklore, adventure, friendship and is also great for kids that like books about animals and historical fiction. Because Serafina changes between her panther form and her human form, we get to see both points of view as she moves between the two worlds. You never know what will happen next as Serafina and the Vanderbilt’s nephew Braeden defend Biltmore and it’s owners from the enemies that want to destroy them. I can’t wait to read the rest of this book and see who or what our heroine has to conquer in order to keep those she loves safe.

I received a few sample chapters of this book. I've never read any of the other books in the series, but I felt like I could easily be transported into her world at Biltmore.

Serafina seems to believe she is the only person who can watch over the estate, whether in human form or in panther form. This is not a genre I've read much of, but I could see myself finishing this book so that I can find out what happens once all the guests arrive at Biltmore.

The sample that I read was easy to understand, fast paced, and had an air of suspense. I could definitely tell some stuff was about to go down in the next chapters.

I received this e-book ARC of Serafina and the Seven Stars - Chapter Sampler through Net Galley from Disney-Hyperion in exchange for a truthful review.

After recently reading and enjoying Willa of the Wood by Robert Beatty and missing the companion world of Serafina, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there would be a fourth book in his Serafina series! Hooray!

This chapter sampler brings the reader back to Serafina and Braeden Vanderbilt at the Biltmore Estate. I can't wait to see what adventures, natural and supernatural, might be in store for them and for any new allies.

The fourth in this series begins with an action filled scene as Serafina runs with her half-siblings. She senses danger but can't find the source. A carriage full of people arrive to enjoy a hunting party; she observes them but senses no danger there. The preview chapters end with her encountering someone on the balcony who she's surprised to see..
The descriptive language draws the reader in to Serafina's world. The action appeals to middle grade readers.
Looking forward to reading the entire book.
