Not long ago one of my favorite authors ended a series I dearly loved. I had come to love the characters of the Mountain Dreams and Heart of the Mountains series and while I was glad the final book brought the two series together I was sad to see them come to an end. When I heard Misty M. Beller was to have a new series and that this series would actually be available in print and not just ebook I was excited and a little apprehensive at once. While I enjoy reading ebooks I much prefer a print copy, I love the feel of the book in my hands, turning the pages, the smell of the book, they all contribute to the reading experience. And, of course I was happy for this step in Misty's career. My joy however was not without reservations, would this new series be as good as the previous? Would I be able to fall in love with new characters so soon? I anxiously awaited the arrival of my copy...

I was so excited the day my book arrived but due to the commitments and responsibilities of adult life it was a couple of days before I was able to sit down and begin reading the book. Yet again, Misty does NOT disappoint! Within just a few paragraphs, sentences really, I was hooked! Filled with adventure, danger, trials, tragedy, and humor I could not put the book down. It was late evening when I started the book and I read into the wee hours of the morning, until I could no longer keep my eyes open. After a few hours of sleep I picked the book back up and didn't put it down until I finished. In less than 24 hours I had read the entire book. Ingrid Chastain faces things that would knock most women and men to the ground yet her faith in the Lord and her hopeful spirit are never crushed. If I were tasked with picking a life verse for Ingrid it would be II Corinthians 4:8‭-‬9; "We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed...". What a wonderful heroine and role model.

Micah Bradley has faced tragedy of his own. His world was rocked to the point he left civilization to roam the mountains of Montana Territory. He doesn't think he is fit to be a doctor or even to be a part of society. Yet when he comes upon Ingrid in a time of great need he doesn't hesitate to help, to bring her into his camp. What comes of the two of them crossing paths? I'm not going to elaborate, no spoilers here, get your copy today, you won't regret it.

Ok Misty, I'm hooked on the Hearts of Montana series and look forward to book two so hurry up please.

I’m adding a new author to my list of loves. And this book is getting five stars. I sat and read it in one sitting, and I think you’ll want to too. One thing that I found interesting about this story is that it stays mostly in the male hero POV, which isn’t usually my favorite. However, in this story it just WORKED and I loved it. Like... so much! The storyline was impressive and fairly unique. I enjoyed the mountains of Montana almost as much as the mountains of Alaska. The cold there seeped into my toes even on a hot summer day. The romance was sweet, and heartbreaking. The spiritual arc was perfect. And don't forget Handsome! (More on him below!) All around, a jolly good read!❤️

"Hope's Highest Mountain" by Misty M. Beller is a tender historical fiction novel that captures our hearts with its most lovable characters who, while on a dedicated and committed mission to save lives, learn to lean on God’s promises, trusting in the glorious hope that He provides blissful peace and rest to His beloved children. The two main characters, Ingrid Chastain, with her sweet spirit and strong faith, and heroic mountain man, Dr. Micah Bradley, overcome unbearable tragedy, bitter loss and heartbreaking grief in their personal lives. Their unique journey brings them closer to each other and to the Lord. "Hope’s Highest Mountain" is an inspiring tale of indomitable courage and selfless determination to persevere at all costs. Misty Beller skillfully weaves in elements of faith into the plot and storyline, blessing the characters with the great assurance of God’s abiding promises and His matchless love that is so comforting to our hearts. I highly recommend this beautiful, inspiring novel to all readers who wish to get the greatest satisfaction from a book well-read. Treasure the book. You will want to read it again and again, to get fresh insights each time.

Ingrid Chastain and her father were on their way over the mountains to deliver smallpox vaccines to a town where there was an outbreak. When there is an accident where the wagon goes off the mountain and her father is killed, she is not sure how she will survive. Enter Micah, a mysterious mountain man, who helps her not only to survive, but to get the vaccines where they need to be.

I really enjoy Misty Beller's writing. It is descriptive and her storyline is well crafted. I loved the characters of Micah and Ingrid. Ingrid was a deeply spiritual woman, who prayed and truly believed that God's will was going to help them fulfill their mission. Micah had a lot of sorrow and did not trust himself or God anymore. He needed to find self-forgiveness to be able to be his true self and use his God-given gift of healing and medicine. Ingrid was just the person to help him do that. There were a lot of barriers put in their path, but they managed to overcome them. This was a wonderful story with adventure, hardship, faith and love that I really enjoyed. Misty Beller has become an author that I search out for her wonderful faith filled historical fiction stories.

Look so I don't agree with some things in this book that for me personally aren't right. However, I will say that this was an interesting and sweet book that I really enjoyed.

The way Micah had to forgive himself and learn to trust God, the way Ingrid fulfilled her father's job, and fell in love, along with everything else made this a story that I really liked. If you like historical romances this is a book for you.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Ingrid Chastain loved helping her father take care of his patients, so when he was ask to bring small pox vaccines to a mining town in the Montana Territory, she went along with him. But she never realized the harshness of the trip ahead of them. After a horrific accident leaving her alone to die, Ingrid was found by Micah Bradley, who lives in these dangerous mountains.

After reading Arthur Misty Beller’s last series, I was excited to read book one in her “Hearts of Montana” series. And Hope’s Highest Mountain has all of the wonderful characteristics of Ms. Beller’s writing. From the first page, I was pulled into this story from every side. When Micah found Ingrid, his doctoring skills were put to the test, and all through the story my heart went out to him because of the sadness of his past. And as usual, Misty Beller takes readers through so many twists and turns in this story, and just when you think nothing else can possibly happen to these two characters, she throws something else at them that seems impossible to deal with. My heart was in shambles several times as I read this book, and I really was afraid for all of the characters involved. And I love the ending. Someway, Ms. Beller weaves it all together and creates an ending I wasn’t  expecting.

If you enjoy stories set in the historical Montana Mountains, this is am awesome one for you to read. And you will love the beautiful cover of this book as well. And I can’t  leave out the way this author weaves the Christian life into the characters everyday lives. This is a book you sure don’t want to miss.

This book started with a bang! It was very action-packed, and I was happy to see it included some fun and dangerous weather that isn’t often featured in fiction. It was neat to see the author was daring enough to break the leading lady’s leg in chapter one. Not many would injure a lead so early on, which obviously leaves them gimpy for the duration of the book, if a “so many weeks/months later” tag isn’t used (as it was not here). Such a challenge, but Mrs. Beller met it well.

Grief and responsibility played well together, showing just how difficult it is to overcome the one to pursue the other. They were accompanied by a servant’s heart, and that made for some beautiful chapters. I like that the characters dug deep to eradicate their fears and stride into their future, no matter what challenges they faced. That was really great to read, because it’s often hard to never give up when you face hard times.

Content: one expletive

In her first Hearts of Montana novel, Hope’s Highest Mountain, Misty M. Beller takes readers into the Montana wilderness for a delightful adventure and romance.

Ingrid Chastain is traveling with her father to deliver smallpox vaccines when a terrible accident forever alters her future. Injured and alone, she needs the help that only mountain man Dr. Micah Bradley can offer. As she recuperates—and he confronts the past he hoped to leave behind—the vaccine-delivery mission calls for attention and takes them on a journey of danger, faith, and hope.

As the story of Hope’s Highest Mountain unfolds, it proves to be an interesting one. With their survival at stake, both Ingrid and Micah must takes steps with strength and wisdom. Though at times, the haunting refrain of Micah’s past becomes repetitive, like a broken record, I enjoyed joining their life-saving trek across the frontier and look forward to reading more of the series soon.

Misty M. Beller delivers a beautiful story filled with loss, sorrow, love, and hope. With the gorgeous mountain setting, this story is sure to sweep you into another time and place.

I admit, the outbreak of a contagious disease hit a little closer to home than normal. But I loved this story of perseverance. Regardless of the dangers, both Ingrid and Micah showed so much courage. I loved watching their relationship grow and care for each other...and others. The past can beat us up if we let it. Mistakes...things we should have said, but didn't...A guilty conscience...And learning to extend grace to ourselves when we need it most is harder than it seems. This season we are living in is teaching me self-grace on a daily basis. And I keep reminding myself of Anne's words..."Tomorrow is a new day, with no mistakes in it...yet."

Montana is my favorite place to be...other than HOME...and it was interesting to see it through a new lens and in a different time period.

Misty Beller is a master at telling stories set in the great outdoors. There may not be any wild animals yet in this series, but there’s an avalanche, broken ice, broken bones, and illnesses to wreak havoc in the lives of these characters. There is never a dull moment in this exciting journey, and I couldn’t help but feel as if I was back in Montana with Ingrid and Micah. Beller writes in such a way that you not only see your surroundings, but you can feel them too. When Ingrid was injured and riding along the bumpy trail, I could feel those bumps. When they were trying to get across the icy stream, I could feel the coldness of the ice underneath me. And when there were some kissing scenes, well my heart went pitter patter!

While I loved reading about Micah and Ingrid, I also enjoyed seeing the secondary characters in Joanna, Samuel and Handsome (the dog!). They didn’t really feel like secondary characters to me – they just felt like they had been there all along. I could see one trait through all the characters – strength. Micah was physically strong, Ingrid was strong in her faith, and Joanna was strong for her son. Having three different characters portray a similar trait in different ways is not something I see a lot of, but Beller did a beautiful job of displaying it.

Perhaps the character with the most growth, and the one I think a lot of people can identify with is Micah. His past haunted him pretty deeply. The problem was instead of clinging to God during his time of trouble, he almost seemed to blame God. And haven’t we all done that at one time or another in our lives if we’re honest? Maybe we don’t blame God per-say, but we question what God is doing in a particular situation. Beller’s ability to address this naturally, and poetically though Ingrid’s faith and testimony spoke straight to my heart. And that’s what I want from a lot of my Christian Fiction reads – a story that will inspire and encourage.

Once again Beller has brought readers a story that is dangerous, exciting, and full of emotion. Setting the tone for this new fantastic series, I can’t even imagine what is going to come next. I hope it’s a Joanna story!! I highly encourage you to read Hope’s Highest Mountain now so you’ll be ready for the next release!

I absolutely LOVE this story! I devoured it. Right from the start I was hooked. The story follows a woman who needs to take some vaccines to a small town in Montana. Her father promised the small town doctor he'd get them there to prevent small pox. However, along the way there some was trouble. But not all hope is lost since a handsome stranger comes to save the day. With lots of prayer and hope Ingrid's life is about be changed forever. This is a great Historical Christian Fiction story. I loved it! I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Misty Beller writes incredible Christian historical fiction, and I have enjoyed many of her books. This story is just as incredible as the others. This author has a way of making you feel that you are actually on the journey with the characters, and experience Montana just as Ingrid did. I also appreciate the thread of faith that weaves in and out of the story. Full of romance and adventure, this book will keep you turning pages to read more of Ingrid’s story. I’m already looking forward to reading Misty Beller’s next book.

Hope’s Highest Mountain was written by Misty M. Beller and is book one of two in the Hearts of Montana series.
Summary: Ingrid Chastain and her father have left the safety of Boston to travel deep into the wilds of the Montana Territory to deliver much needed vaccines. But a terrible tragedy occurs, leaving Ingrid alone and badly injured.
Micah Bradley is a doctor, who left his profession after a tragedy of his own. Will he be able to save Ingrid, and in the process, rescue what is left of his soul?
My Thoughts: I liked this book. It has a great premise, some action, interesting characters, and a good message about learning to rely on God. It did get a little mushy towards the end with the guy constantly being drawn into her beautiful eyes, and the girl not able to take her eyes away from his broad shoulders. That wasn’t my thing, but if you like the romance, it’s there.
Overall, it was a fun read, and I wouldn’t mind reading book two.
I would like to thank Bethany House for providing me with a free digital copy in exchange for my unbiased review. Thank you!

"Hopes Highest Mountain"

Misty Beller

Hopes Highest Mountain written by Misty Beller is one of my favorite. I love Misty Beller books and I'm not disappointed by this book. This book is about a outbreak of small pox and getting their much needed medicine. It's a book of faith and love, which is always a great combination. I just love the characters, because they are so likeable. Misty made you think you are back in this time where outbreaks of any kind was ten fold. The one amazing thing is I couldn't put it down.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes a great book!

I give it a 5 out of 5 stars

What is essentially a story of a trek across the snow-laden frontier of the Montana Territory in 1866 becomes so much more in her hands. With characters whose strengths come to the fore, what begins as a mission of mercy becomes a journey so fraught with danger and challenges that the sheer grit it took to survive in that part of history is constantly brought to mind.

This is an engrossing and engaging read, with a well integrated faith thread. While the cast is small, they are well drawn and when combined with the trials they face, the unforgiving setting lends itself to an epic feel.

While this author has been on my radar for some time, Hope's Highest Mountain is the first book I've read by Misty M. Beller and I am duly impressed. Definitely one for the reread shelf, and an author to turn to when the need strikes for a rugged historical Christian romance. I am looking forward to the sequel, Love's Mountain Quest, due out in June 2020. Particularly since it will feature two characters I wanted to see together in the main roles.

Slow and predictable. I did not like this book at all. Typically, I love historical fiction but this one just was not very interesting.

Hope’s Highest Mountain was a pleasure to read. It was the perfect beginning to my fall reading TBR (It pairs well with cozy blankets, flannel, and hot tea!). I absolutely loved the setting of the book. The landscape was breathtaking and the constant frigid temperatures and snow definitely played a part in the mood of the story.
And the story is fantastic. It begins with heart-stopping action and palpable heartache, but it is an epic journey not only through the snow-covered mountains but through the natural valleys of faith.
Ingrid and Joanna are beautiful examples of strong, faithful women. It was heartwarming to see them keep their faith and work together as they struggled through unimaginable situations. I admired Ingrid’s unshakeable faith and the inner strength she leaned on daily to endure the pain of her injuries. It wasn’t difficult to see how a man like Micah, damaged and a little lost in life, would be drawn to her so easily.

Micah is quite the man. A doctor. Mountain man. Grieving widower. I loved his protective instinct of those within his care, and how he liked all the ornery parts of Samuel, the boy who traveled with them. His journey (personally and spiritually), in many ways, was the hardest, but you can’t help but root for him the entire time.
I hope you take a chance on this story. Not only is the setting amazingly beautiful, but the spiritual message is inspiring (without being preachy) and touched my heart. I fell in love with Ingrid and Micah in the first few pages and was honored to watch their love bloom slowly and sweetly.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I'd never read this author before, so I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised and could not put the book down. If you enjoy survival stories you will love this one. It had me constantly thinking of those tv shows set in Alaska, even though it's set in the 1800s.
Ingrid is on her way with her father who is a doctor to deliver smallpox vaccines to a small village in the mountains of Montana. She encounters just about every obstacle along the way befriending her "savior" Micah and a lady, Joanna, with her son Samuel. From broken leg, to broken wagons, snow, diseases...The story moves quickly considering there are not many characters or settings. It's the perfect book to read if you're craving some cold weather or snow. Or just want to cozy up in winter with a fast, light read.
The romance aspect isn't overwhelming, but it's sweet and realistic.
I'll definitely be recommending this author to friends.

I received an ARC through netgalley for my honest review.

This was my first book by Misty Beller and it will not be my last! She brings the setting to life amazingly, and the characters quickly endear to your heart What an adventure! Along rocky paths, caves, avalanche, snow, snow and snow, Micah will find his perseverance being stretched, but sweet Ingrid might just be the perfect balm to endure the rugged land.
