If I had to choose a few words to describe this book they would be; intense, twisted and really good. Some fiction books when you are reading it you can see it happening, in this story some of it was so far fetched you know that’s why it’s fiction. But with the twist and turns in this story makes you wonder if just maybe this has happened to someone before. The author keeps you guessing and keeps you drawn in that’s for the hole book. I had the hardest time putting this book down, it truly seem to just fly. This book does have sec and adult language in it. This book for sure was really good. I wonder what OPAQUE will be up to next.

I seem to be on a romantic suspense roll of late, this another one that does not disappoint and will have you turning those pages faster than you can say "why is Mitch such a ____?" Based on the world of the Opaque Security Team, they're called in as a favor to an old friend of the boss. He in turn pulls in his top team leaders who all have their own skill set. Tasked to lead the force is former Navy SEAL Mitch who is truly a piece of work. He's ready to go on a much needed vacation and pulled to protect Elizabeth/Liz who's father was a friend of Drake's. Liz's whole life was spent in Witsec unbeknownst to her. Her father is in trouble and has disappeared, his last text to her a mystery.
When Liz and her father show up on a list as leverage, the whole team is set into action. Just when they think they're safe, yet another twist. This story places Mitch and Liz in close quarters and I'll say Mitch was totally full of himself and Liz did well to give him the proper amount of sass he deserved.
Things do heat up between the two and the supporting characters on the team add to the comedic element in the story. While the team tries to eke out a rat in their midst, the stakes grow higher with every scene and when you think you know, well you don't. Just keep flipping those pages because the story is gripping right until the very end.
This is a fantastic full length stand alone from Ms Shelton and I'm ready for the next book! Love a good romantic suspense where the men are a hot as the water they find themselves in? This one is for you!

I just really enjoyed this book. It was just really easy to get lost in this book. I will definitely be reading more by this author.

Fast paced and action packed. Mitch is laser focused on his job. Liz is having her life turned upside down. Mitch and his group is tasked with protecting Liz from a host of bad actors. As the adrenaline spikes so too does the heat between them. They are constantly on the move trying to stay alive and ahead of who is trying to kill them. An adrenaline fueled story that will keep you turning the pages to the sweet end.

This is the second book in this series but each is a stand alone but after saying that I loved this one so much that I went out and bought the first book in the series

Elizabeth "Liz" Walkert is a journalist and her father has gone missing and now she has a message to meet one of her father's friends agents at a bar yes her radar is going off When she meets that agent it is Mitch Granger former military and now working for OPAQUE’s special ops force. Mitch has always been the one to protect everyone he supported his family after his fathers death and protected while in the military so is it any wonder he now protects in his new job. Now he will have to go on the run with Liz if he is to protect her from CT (Coercion Ten) but in the process he may fall for her but they will have to work together if they are to survive

This is a roller coaster ride with plenty of suspense and danger that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I do love romantic suspense and this story is good. The camaraderie between the team members is great. The suspense is pretty good. However, I do not think it delved enough into the mystery itself. I won’t give it away but what really motivated the true villain? The romance is nice (most is behind closed doors so I would call this book fairly clean in case you are wondering). I have not read Ms. Shelton before but would like to know more about these men of OPAQUE.

The book is supposed to be standalone, however I felt lost, especially in the beginning. I couldn't figure out at first what the hell was going on, and I just couldn't get into the book from there.

This stand alone book is an action packed, contemporary romance thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the start to the end.

Dangerous Lies is a well-paced, exciting, romantic suspense. Mitch and Liz are great characters with fabulous chemistry and the storyline is compelling. I read this in one sitting and look forward to reading more.

What an action packed romance filled with intrigue and there were a couple of twists along the way. One I should have figured out as there were enough clues and one that there were no clues but I just knew and could see coming! One thing that I will say, the picture of the father at the bank was kind of overlooked and you would think operatives would delve deeper into this! No more on that as I don't want to give away any of the story.

This book was hard to put down as you just wanted to keep seeing where the story was going and who was the mole. Was Elizabeth's father Drake or was it Russ?

So many close calls, and the romance was so hot and filled with tension as Mitch kept backing off and didn't feel that he could have a life with his job and a woman. I was not sure until the very end that Mitch could figure a way out of his thinking and keep Liz and not blow it!

Great wrap up at the end and I hope a little taste of Cat and Stealth for a future book!

While this is part of a series the story is also a stand alone.

The story is a inta romance which seems to be a go to for romance\suspense author. The characters are decently written with enough background for the story to make since. The story is a fast paced but details sometimes get a little lost. While readers might enjoy that the pace of the story it could have been slowed down to add more details to the "twist" in the story. I think if more times had been on the twist it would have been more of a shock for readers.

The book drew me in from the get-go. Total book hangover – read it in one night! This is the second book in a series but stands on its own merit. I am definitely going back to read book one! And can't wait for book three! LOL! The pacing was excellent, the characters well developed, and I definitely wanted to know what happened to Mitch and Liz. If you like sexy guys who fall for sassy, smart women, plus a story filled with twists, humor, and hotness, then this book is for you! Highly recommend.

Holy amazeballs!! Claudia Shelton absolutely blow this story out of space. A great addition to a fantastic series so far. This is definitely not your average action romance; this is a romance full of action, anticipation, adventure, thrill and intense story which was an absolute pleasure and a breath of fresh air in this genre category. Can’t wait for the next book as this is going to one of the top series of 2019 in my opinion. Happy reading!!

I liked this story. It took a little bit to get into because it felt like there were so many mysteries and we (the reader) did not have any more knowledge than the people in the story. Elizabeth was not as strong as I think Mitch deserved though when push came to shove she did tough it out. I do think more could have been clarified (ie back to those mysteries). In general though I thought this was a good book easy to recommend.

Wow always love reading new authors for me, and this one did not disappoint!, read it in 24 hrs it was just that good. This is a story about an agent named Mitch who is assisted to protect Elizabeth/ Liz. Him and his team run into all kinds of roadblocks trying to keep her safe. Can this exseal learn not only to protect but to love as well? Can Liz stay alive long enough to find that love?

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. I love this Opaque series and am definitely hooked. I love a good story with the strong alpha male who doesn’t feel like he can have a happily ever after.

Once Mitch is sent on an assignment and meets Liz he knows she will be hard on his heart. He finally opens up to her but yet holds back on his happily ever after. While CT is gaining on them can he risk his heart and her safety for his happy ending?

This is a fast-paced read that will grab your attention from the beginning. It has wonderful characters and a suspenseful storyline. It is full of action, intrigue, suspense and danger.Mitch is Liz's protector. She feels trapped by all of his rules. Will he be able to keep her safe? This is an intriguing romantic suspense and I would definitely recommend it.

Even though this is book 2 in the series, it definitely stands alone well. The story is action-packed from the beginning and moves quickly. I liked the characters and really enjoyed Mitch and Liz together. Seeing them grow individually as well as together was a nice treat. The story was exciting, and I was so surprised by some of the twists. I enjoyed the ending, especially the epilogue! I am looking forward to book 3!
