I was very excited to read this book, as I lived through a similar time period in San Francisco and Hawaii, the main settings for the activity in the book. I was disappointed in the writing and lack of character development. This is a memoir of one woman's growing up, travels, and love affairs during the Sixties. However, I didn't get the excitement and sense of wonder of that time period from her. Never got the sense of who the main relationships in her life really meant to her. "I went here, I did this, I met this man" rather than bringing the reader into the scene. Disappointing read.
