I grew up listening to Sharon, Lois, and Bram and jumped at the opportunity to share one of my favorite songs with the littles! This was such a great flashback and we loved singing along with the book.

A retelling of the classic song. The illustrations were bright and colorful. Kids love this silly song especially as a book.

I grew up watching Sharon, Lois and Bram so I was so excited to read this book.

This book consists of the lyrics to their famous song Skinnamarink with pictures. There were a few new verses, which was a nice surprise since I know the song very well. It made the song a little longer and gave more material for illustrations.

I loved the pictures in this book. They showed a variety of people and animals singing the song. They even acted out the motions that go along with the song.

This book brought back so many memories for me! It is an adorable kids book!

Thank you Penguin Random House Canada for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

As someone whose childhood was shaped by Sharon, Lois and Bram and Skinnamarink, knowing there's a new children's book keeping the song alive into this generation of children, makes me very happy. Today's children need more wholesome children's programming!

I loved the illustrations that brought the song to life....very whimsical! I also loved that I now know more verses to the song!

I received this story from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a review.

I was expecting more from this story. I love the song and was excited to read this, but it didn’t meet my expectations. I found myself singing along while I read. The new additions, kind of catching me off and not fitting in with the story as well. I thought the images could’ve been better, stronger, happier, and more vivid.

When I 1st heard this song, it was at the library with my 2yr-old daughter sitting in my lap. It was such a joyful thing for us to sing together at the library with other children and the Skinnamarink song was so delightful, I tried to put it into memory. I wasn't successful. The title alone was a toughie to figure out. With the roar of children and parents, it kind of sounded like "Stinky marinky" to me. It made my kiddo laugh on the way home as we tried to figure it out.

So, I'm happy there's finally a book. I just wish there was audio/CD to go with it.

However, the authors changed up the lyrics and this no longer sounds the same to me. Also, without the great chords, it's hard to conjure up the same melody and happiness the song evokes.

The art is fine and I'm sure it'll still translate to hard core fans, but I think this book needs more (beyond it's pencil drawings) to move this to the lyrical treasure it should be.

Sharon, Lois, and Bram’s Skinnamarink – As a fan of the Elephant Show from the 1980s I loved this book. This book is the lyrics of the famous skinnamarink song from The Elephant Show, while the illustrations include characters doing the dance. This is a must for any fan of the show, and can be purchased in stores or online on September 3, 2019.

The Skinnamarink song is a lovely tune that I warmly remember from my childhood, and this book is a charming way to share it with a new generation. The illustrations are well-suited to the book and include diverse groups of people, reflecting the inclusive world in which we live. I think it's a timely book, as you can never have too much love in the world! Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Random House Canada for an e-book in exchange for an honest review. I'll certainly be purchasing a print copy of this beautiful book.

When I first saw this book was available to review, I rushed to get it and kept my fingers crossed that I would get the opportunity to be allowed to review it! I have already purchased it for my grandson to start a new generation on this fabulous group and song. This song along with Sharon, Lois and Bram’s Elephant Show was my daughter’s favorite song and show when she was growing up back in the early 1980s. We actually had to tape it when she was little on VHS so that she could watch it over and over again when it wasn’t on TV. To say I watched it 1000 times wouldn’t be an exaggeration! Thirty years later, and I can still remember word for word the song!

So now to the book, at first glance, the illustrations are absolutely adorable and perfect! Qin Leng did an amazing job matching the illustrations with the book. I really think he captured the essence of the book. Of course, the book is based on the song, Skinnamarink. It’s an adorable song that obviously is fun and happy but with a wonderful meaning of friendship, acceptance & most important, love. Sharon Hampson’s daughter Randi added a few new verses and I feel they fit in perfectly with the original song. For fans who are familiar with Sharon, Lois, and Bram and the Skinnamarink song they will absolutely love this keepsake version in book form! It brings back so many wonderful memories of the show, the positive message is uplifting and after thirty years still makes me smile!

Sharon, Lois, and Bram were such a wonderful part of my children’s growing up and I look forward to sharing this book with my grandchildren in the years to come. Absolutely loved this book & highly recommend!

Sharon, Lois, and Bram's Skinnamarink is a story that brought back all the feels. As a now grown adult, I have fond memories of the show that featured the Skinnamarink song. It was a huge part of my childhood, and I was so excited to see that this book is bringing back for a new generation to discover and love. This new story is beautifully illustrated, and it features the entire lyrics of the famous Skinnamarink theme song.

I remember growing up and singing Skinnamarink with my brothers and parents. It was always a favourite in our house, and we were lucky enough to see Sharon, Lois and Bram live. This little book brings the song to life once again, and everyone who gets a copy will surely find themselves singing instead of reading. The illustrations are a wonderful addition, and show humans and animals alike showcasing what Skinnamarink truly means: love, friendship, and being there for each other when needed. This book is truly delightful, and people of all ages will enjoy sharing it with one another. It'd be a great addition to a little one's library, or a sentimental gift for an adult who grew up with Sharon, Lois and Bram.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC to review.

I think there are a lot of people in my age group that will remember Sharon, Lois, and Bram from their television show. Now, their iconic song is in a children's book. The illustrations were perfect for the kind of fun and inclusive show. There was a sense of humor. There were also a couple of verses I didn't know. But I have had that song in my head all day now...

I was thrilled to receive an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley because the song Skinnamarink has such sentimental value for me. I remember watching the Elephant Show as a kid and watching the elephants on the spider web while this song was being sung. Then when I became a 1st grade teacher, I sang a modified version at the end of each school day. When my children were babies and toddlers, they heard me sing this song before each and every nap and bedtime. Needless to say, I've song the Skinnamarink song literally hundreds of times and it has never got old for me or any of these children. I just finished reading the book with my 5 and 8 year old children and they were delighted with the illustrations and new verses that were added to the book. I plan on purchasing copies of this book to give out at baby showers or birthday parties that we get invited to in the future. Every family should have a copy of this book to read with their young ones.

I so remember this song from my childhood and I still get it stuck in my head. Someone finally took the song and put illustrations to it. Beware, you are likely to get Skinnamarink stuck in your head. The originators of the song even wrote new verses just for the book. I am in love and need this for my shelf and all my kids friends shelves.

So full disclosure: I was bawling my eyes out the entire time I was reading this book. It all began with the very touching introduction and it didn't really let up from there.

I was one of the children that grew up with Sharon, Lois, and Bram and "The Elephant Show" so this song is very near and dear to my heart. The book does the song and the trio justice and is a beautiful tribute to their legacy. The illustrations are bright and colourful and include a diverse cast singing and dancing along to the iconic tune. And the extra special touch for us die-hard fans is that you can hear Sharon, Lois and Bram singing to you the whole time you're reading this work. It is wonderfully nostalgic. And while there are only two pictures that include the trio themselves, the last one really brought on the waterworks as they each sing their catchphrases in between the final "I love yous" (for example, "I love your singing!") UGH. Tears. All the tears.

I really cannot express how amazing this book is. Please do yourself a favor and read this work. It is absolutely incredible and so very touching. And as Sharon and Bram are about to embark on their final farewell tour, this book is very timely. Canadian libraries: stock up on this work and boxes of tissues! There's going to be lots of parents who will need them!

An old song put into book format. The illustrations are really cute. I'm not sure how many younger children will know the song, and I'm not sure how many parents would actually like them to know the song.
