This was a sweet, small-town Christmas story. Lisa is a busy retail designer who is constantly on the go. She and her partner travel frequently to stage stores for openings or special events. Her most recent project brought to mind Evergreen, Vermont, a town she lived in as a young child. Her family moved frequently, but Evergreen has always remained in her heart and mind. With her parents away for the holidays, Lisa decides to visit Evergreen and see if it lives up to her memories.

Her arrival in town brings even more memories flooding back, including the day she and her parents moved away. I ached for Lisa and the sadness of that memory. Her memory of Daisy's General Store and the comfort that Daisy gave her that day still holds a special place in her heart. Lisa is sad to see that the store has closed and that Daisy has passed away. The town's mayor inherited the store and needs to sell it before the bank repossesses it, but the store is in pretty sad shape. Excited by the idea of helping, Lisa offers to fix the place up to make it more appealing to a buyer. To do so, she will need the help of a local contractor, who turns out to be the same man she met on the way into town.

Kevin has lived in Evergreen for most of his life, but it was never the same after his mother died. His relationship with his father is strained, and Kevin is contemplating taking a job in another state.

I loved the first meeting between Kevin and Lisa. It's always fun when a guy is surprised by something a woman can do. I loved how they connected right away, and the teasing banter as they worked on the truck together. Underneath the banter, there were some sparks. Small towns being what they are, it was fun to see them run into each other several times over the next few hours, and how the sparks continued to flare. I loved seeing Lisa use her enthusiasm to overcome Kevin's qualms about working on the store. For his part, Kevin was reluctant since he couldn't see it getting done right in the short time they had, but he found himself unable to resist Lisa's entreaties. Over the next few days, as they worked on the store, they found they had a lot in common. I enjoyed seeing their friendship develop and see the attraction that simmered underneath it. Both resisted that attraction, though, as both claimed to be uninterested in a relationship. I liked how their friendship deepened into something more and wanted to shake them both as they continued to fight it. Just when things looked most promising, misunderstandings pushed them apart, until a Christmas miracle helped them see what was important.

I loved the underlying project of fixing up Daisy's store. The project itself brought Kevin and Lisa together. However, they weren't the only ones whose lives were affected by it. I loved the teamwork of the townspeople as it seemed that everyone found a way to help in some fashion. When Lisa discovered an old letter in the Santa Mailbox from Daisy's store, everyone got involved in reviving some of the older traditions of the town's Christmas celebration. The secondary characters brought added life and romance, making the story even richer.

Lisa & her partner Oliver stage stores to help them make the most of huge sales. They’ve been working hard to make their own store a reality. Now, it’s the holidays, Lisa’s parents are traveling & Oliver convinced her to go back to her hometown of Evergreen for a long planned visit. Lisa has romanticized her hometown & the way they used to celebrate Christmas that she’s afraid it won’t be the same. Instead, as soon as she enters the town, she’s pulled into the atmosphere & ends up helping plan some me of the events. In order to help one of the townspeople sell their store, Lisa decides to make basic repairs & stage the store like it used to be.

Kevin is in town spending some time with his father. He’s trying to decide whether to take the logging job he’s been offered or not. He keeps running into Lisa all around town & she convinces him to help her by doing the needed repairs in the store. As they work together, they share memories & grow closer. Will they help save the store from being sold to a chain?

This was an emotional heartwarming story typical of the Hallmark movies it was based on. I loved Lisa’s connection to the store & the memories that both she & Kevin shared. Letters to Santa are one of the most engaging parts of the holiday season & the idea that the Town & the store made such a big deal of them is lovely. This was truly a wonderful Christmas moment.

This concept of having authors write books based on Hallmark Christmas movies is pretty cool. I was already familiar with this story, but my memory isn't top rate. It was nice to have the story come back to me bit by bit as I got farther into the book.
This is a sweet, clean Christmas romance (Hallmark--what else). It warms your heart and makes you ache to go to such a place as Evergreen, where everybody remembers you no matter how long ago you left. Where you can come back to wonderful memories and people worth talking to...and maybe worth falling in love with!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

It’s not easy going home again to find that some of your fondest, most precious memories are changed. It’s also not easy to stay home when nothing but memories surround you and you cannot fight through the sad ones to remember the happy times. Exactly what Lisa and Kevin will soon discover. One who is returning home, another one thinking of leaving home – but both are about to rediscover the magic of Christmas and the joy of rebuilding something precious to an entire town.

Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa takes us back, once again, to a small town where the magic of Christmas doesn’t diminish throughout the year, it thrives. But nothing ever stays exactly the same, time moves on and two strangers will come together to recreate something of the past – and perhaps begin their path toward their future. I enjoyed watching Lisa and Kevin move through hesitant friendship to something more. Their journey is realistic and full of every bit of Christmas magic that I’ve come to expect, not only from Nancy Naigle but from Hallmark Publishing as well.

I loved how the townsfolk came together to solve a mystery that takes on a life of its own. The epilogue was perfect for this story and gave me an additional smile to close the book on. If you’ve seen the Hallmark movie then you’ll enjoy that little extra at the end of this book. Without giving away spoilers, in Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa you’re going to find a romance beginning between a couple who truly need each other, discover a town where the Christmas Spirit is a year-round feeling, and solve a mystery while making wishes come true. Don’t know how much more full of Christmas one story can get. I enjoyed every moment spent here, and I believe you will, too. And – it’s never too early for a Christmas Romance. Enjoy.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Lisa decides to visit her hometown, Evergreen in Vermont, where she lived as a child before moving to DC years later.

When she returns, Evergreen looks pretty much the same except Daisy’s Country Store which was once owned by a lady named Daisy but has since closed and has fallen into disrepair after she passed a year ago.

Ezra, the Mayor of Evergreen—and Daisy’s godson— is worried that if he doesn’t sell the store, the bank will repossess it.

Back in the city, she has a home staging business which she manages with her business partner, Oliver. Lisa offers to stage Daisy’s Country Store with the help of Kevin, a contractor who is visiting his dad in Evergreen for a week.

Christmas in Evergreen is a cute holiday story with all the right elements—a picturesque small town, contemporary romance, loving family and joyous Christmas traditions. The characters were well developed and well written.

Many thanks to Nancy Naigle, NetGalley, and Hallmark Publishing for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was made into a Hallmark movie which I had put on my DVR. Luckily, I had not watched it yet.
Nancy Nagle has a refreshing insight into small town life. In some ways the relationships were anticipated, yet there were misunderstandings between Kevin and Lisa.
She addresses a lot of traditions and family friction that can cause riffs.
There were many times I found myself grabbing the Kleenex, especially 87% through the book. The epilogue was quite different than in most books. It also points out how in smaller towns there is much more integration into the community.
I found it a refreshing book that I started last night and finished this afternoon. A quick and fun read. I found at times the romantic parts a bit overdone like when a couple's hands touched and they each wondered if the spark was felt by the other person....or he stole her breath.
But then I normally read mysteries or thrillers (where someone is being stalked, a disaster has occurred, etc).
I found the amount of information on construction and staging very interesting. She writes in a way that you can see it play out like a movie. I think I will stick with my pictures rather than watching the movie.
Thanks for allowing me an advanced reading copy for this objective review.

It was so great to revisit Evergreen. Such a heartwarming small town with wonderful, likable and helpful residents. This is the town that keeps the Christmas Spirit going twelve months a year. Christmas in Evergreen - Letters to Santa is a wonderful Christmas story and, of course, there are Christmas miracles too!

I absolutely love Christmas reads and throw Hallmark in with it and you know that you have an irresistible read that you won't be able to put down. That is exactly what this book from Nancy Naigle is! A great cozy, cuddle up by the fire, read!

Lisa decides to take a trip back to her hometown of Evergreen for the holiday. She has been hesitant to go back there but she only has good memories from Evergreen so she decides it is time to go and see what she remembers. When Lisa gets there she sees that Daisy's, a general store that Lisa vividly remembers, has been shut down. With Lisa being a retail designer, she decides to enlist the help of local contractor, Kevin, and see if they can stage the store and get the building sold.

Lisa and Kevin find the old mailbox that was used for letters to Santa all those years that Daisy had the store open. With it being so close to Christmas, Lisa decides that she is going to see if she can put the mailbox at Kringle Kitchen until they are done with the store. When they are moving it, a 25 year old letter falls out that helps them to bring back some of the old traditions of town that the townspeople always looked forward to.

I love that we get several romances going on in this story. All the characters are so likeable and you quickly fall in love with the town and it's people. I don't want to give away too much about this one because reading it is all the fun and you get to get lost in the town and story of Evergreen! Great job by Nancy Naigle for sure on this one!

All opinions are voluntary and my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book.

Return to Evergreen, the town where Christmas wishes come true… But only if you know what your heart really wants.
When Lisa takes a last-minute Christmas trip to her hometown of Evergreen, she finds that the historic general store has closed. The place was a beloved local tradition, and she decides to use her skills as a professional retail designer to bring it back to its former glory. She charms a local contractor, Kevin, into working with her, and the pair find themselves facing one surprise after another.

One of the biggest surprises of all is finding the mysterious 25-year-old letter to Santa that never made it to the North Pole. Who really wrote it, and will its request come true at last? And will Lisa and Kevin figure out what they’re truly wishing for?
I love these sweetly romantic Hallmark Christmas stories.
This one was a movie last season and now we get a Nancy Naigle written interpretation of this wonderful story.

I ADORE Nancy Naigle. She is a complete sweetheart in person and such a talented writer - the perfect combination! She can make you laugh, cry, and never want to stop reading. I'm starting to think Christmas doesn't exist without Nnacy Naigle.

I had the honor of speaking with her at Book Lover's Con. This Friday, my interview with her is going live over on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHAHiWZTndM.

Lisa has always considered the town of Evergreen home, even though the last time she lived there, she was only 7 yeas old. One of her favorite places in Evergreen was Daisy's store, not only for the merchandise, but primarily for Daisy herself. When she returns, she discovers that Daisy passed away over a year ago and the store has been left in disrepair. The bank is about ready to foreclose, and will probably sell it to some chain or big box franchise, changing downtown Evergreen completely. Lisa rallies so of the townsfolk and embarks on making Daisy's more appealing to buyers with the help of a popular local contractor, Kevin. It's a wonderful, heartfelt Christmas story about traditions, teamwork, heritage, and Christmas wishes. Loved it!

I remember watching this movie and thinking it was one of the best movies that Hallmark Channel put out that year. So having said that, I was thrilled and delighted to review this novelization of that movie.

When Lisa returns to Evergreen, she finds that a part of her and the town has shut down. After decades of being open and becoming a stable in the Evergreen community, Lisa is shocked to learn that Daisy's general store has been closed and is in need of some repair if they are ever going to find a buyer for it by Christmas. Good thing that Lisa is a skilled decorator. She can decorate anything and make it look like Christmas personified. But, she can only do so much so she enlists the help of Kevin, a contractor who has a special place in his heart for the store and for Christmas. Together the two of them work to bring magic back to the most magical town at Christmas.

I'm a big fan of Hallmark Channel. I am a Hallmark addict and I find no shame in that. This book was beautiful written to compliment the movie that will have you wanted to watch Christmas In Evergreen: Letters To Santa all over again. I love it how Nancy Naigle puts life into the scenes by emotional storytelling and even more insight in the characters that what you just see on screen.

If you are fan of the Hallmark Channel then I definitely encourage you to give this a try.

Like all Hallmark Channel content, this book is clean without use of language or violence.

And make sure to check out the Hallmark Channel Original Movie "Christmas In Evergreen: Letters To Santa" whether you have read the book or not. Neither of them will be a let down guaranteed.

Christmas In Evergreen: Letters to Santa is a wonderful story that takes us back to the picture perfect town of Evergreen. We not only meet new characters in this story, but we also get to see our old friends once again. This story is all about Christmas traditions. It gave me some nostalgia by making me think of how "Christmas used to be" when I was a child. It also got me excited to decorate my house for Christmas, even though it's only July! If you're in need of a little Christmas spirit, I highly recommend picking up this book!

Lisa and Kevin are both always on the run, looking for next job, next town. They meet in Evergreen, he is here to visit his father, she is here to visit town where she lived as a kid and loved it. When those two meet it's like each of them found missing piece. They have different jobs and live in different towns. Would moving to Evergreen to be together is something they consider?

Loved this story and want to spend Christmas in Evergreen.
